Seven Knights Idle Adventure Beginner’s Guide: Tips, Tricks & Strategies to Get Stronger

No favors!

The above statement is the motto that the Witch of the Woods, Elke, lives by. She’s a mercenary for hire—a woman who knows what she wants. What she wants exactly is to become a member of the Magic Society and use this leverage to turn herself into a celebrity. Oops! We mean that she will join the Magic Society and fight for the peace of the land.

Along with her rag-tag party of friends—Atalanta, Halo, Ponpo, and a few others—her first order of business is to seek the mystical Sealing Stone which seemingly is behind the cause of the chaos steadily spreading before her very eyes. Though she knows that she can’t do this alone, she may need to seek the strength of a group of legendary warriors known across the plains far and wide as the Seven Knights.

An epic tale of bite-sized proportions!

Renowned South Korean developer Netmarble, has left their mark on our site yet again. If this name rings a bell, they’re the folks behind Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, Grand Cross: Age of Titans (not to be confused with the former), MARVEL Future Revolution, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, Tower of God: New World, Blade and Soul: Revolution, and Meta World: My City. Seven Knights Idle Adventure is actually a spinoff of their long-running franchise of the same name.

While the very first Seven Knights game is no longer in operation, Netmarble still has the predecessor of this game which is Seven Knights 2 (feel free to check it out if you haven’t yet). Seven Knights Idle Adventure is still situated in the very same world that the franchise is set in. It also focuses on a new hero, Elke, who aims to call on the titular Seven Knights to restore peace and order to the land once more… probably—if her greed doesn’t get to her head first.

One thing players of this spinoff may notice is that the writing of its story is very akin to lighthearted fantasy anime titles of yore such as Excel Saga, Slayers, and the very short-lived Dragon Half (I, Marc Robbins, have officially dated myself thanks to these references).

seven knights idle adventure the letter
OMG. Is it really happening?

But regardless where Elke finds herself, danger lurks at every corner. She may or may not find all the Knights at once, but perhaps equally powerful heroes she meets along the way would be able to help her cleave a path toward her true destiny.

Are you prepared to embark on a journey like no other? Do you do favors for nobody as well? Is it your dream to become a celebrity despite the current state of the world? If your goals align with Elke—or if you’ve just picked this game up and want to become better at it—read our Seven Knights Idle Adventure beginner’s guide for some useful tips, tricks and strategies!

What is an Idle RPG?

seven knights idle adventure gameplay
Sit back, chill out, and kill ‘em all.

For a long time, RPGs have been a staple in the world of gaming.

A role-playing game, or an RPG for short, is a game wherein the player takes on the role of a hero on a quest to save the world, rescue someone, defeat an evil being, etc. Normally, this is what an RPG would entail but in some cases, this isn’t how it works. Other RPGs made in recent times would involve the character in a more “free-form” role. A notable title that allowed you to do this is the ever-popular Elder Scrolls franchise.

In most RPGs, the player is also given the feature of growing a character how they see fit. Many titles feature a colorful cast of characters who each have their own strengths and weaknesses. It’s here where the player could assign “roles” to these characters so they fit seamlessly in a party and coordinate well during a team fight. For instance, fitting certain characters with armor while others would be carrying hard-hitting weapons.

Base mechanics aside, RPGs have their own genres as well. They can fall under action RPGs, tactical RPGs, turn-based RPGs, and of course, idle RPGs. Action RPGs are RPGs that allow the player to control their character freely and focuses mainly on combat mechanics. Tactical RPGs are almost a hybrid between RPG and RTS (real-time strategy) wherein battles happen across a map and characters and monsters are the “units” of the game.

Positioning and actions are very important in a tactical RPG. Turn-based RPGs are possibly the most famous ones which have been made ever popular by the likes of the Final Fantasy, Mother, and Persona franchises. This involves the characters’ combat taking turns in a fight in defeating their enemies and each action could mean an attack, casting a spell, using an item, etc. Lastly, an idle RPG is a new kind of subgenre that allows players to progress through a campaign without playing the game actively.

To be specific, an idle RPG “plays itself’. The fighting, the wandering from town to town or map to map, the spell-casting, the interactions, they’re all done by your characters. You, on the other hand, are in charge of making sure that your fearless band of misfits are conditioned and strong enough to take on their next horde of enemies.

Should your party fall, you’re going to have to repeat the level and let them grind until they become strong enough to conquer the boss. That said, despite the idle RPG sounding simplistic in its mechanics, it’s deceptively challenging and time-consuming to most.

If this is your first idle RPG and you’re wanting to get into Seven Knights Idle Adventure, you’ve come to the right place. Read our beginner’s guide below and get ready to plow right through the enemy ranks!

Saving the World 101

Elke personally doesn’t know what’s happening but she’d want to find out. Quests about a Sealing Stone, the disappearance of her grandmother, Meg, armies out to stop witches like her (or so it would seem), and the missing titular Seven Knights are among the few things that are in her path to greatness and her celebrity status.

As shameless as it may seem, our protagonist isn’t out to just save the world, she’s in it for the glory, too. Who wouldn’t want to bask in the light of fame and recognition for saving countless lives? Anyway, read on!

1. Follow the Guide Quests

seven knights idle adventure atalanta
What Atalanta said.

The road to stardom is not without its wicked twists and turns.

You’d wander about in the same old woods, not knowing that the monster hordes just come at you endlessly. To help Elke find the source of all this hullabaloo, she’ll need to find her way over the mountains, through the forests, across the deserts and seas. She needs to travel. But how does one do that? How about trying to follow the Guide Quests?

seven knights idle adventure guide quests
These.

Guide Quests are simple, bite-sized tasks that can be completed in quick succession. They’re not tall orders that require you to kill off powerful enemies or retrieve dangerous artifacts, they could be as simple as doing the following:

  • Leveling up a hero a few times
  • Summoning heroes
  • Killing a few monsters
  • Using some items
  • Upgrading your Influence a few levels

In doing so, you’ll earn rewards completing these one by one which can be used in making your hero party stronger. While you’re completing your Guide Quests, you’ll also slowly unlock more content without progressing too far into the game. You may also use Guide Quests as a means for you to go through the game’s levels slowly.

In other words, doing Guide Quests will slowly make you stronger while making progress. The farther you are into the levels, the better your loot. The better your loot, the more powerful your heroes become.

But—uh oh—something’s blocking your way. It’s the boss!

2. Aim to Kill the Boss Each Level

seven knights idle adventure boss fight
Let’s go, you eight-legged freak!

You’ve gotta wonder who the head honcho is commanding all these little goons.

For every army, there is always someone on top. In this case, with all these monsters popping up around Elke and her friends, there has to be a big baddie that’s calling the shots. That’s right, we’re talking about the boss—the big monster that tries to stop your advance.

These large meatshields are usually not pushovers like their flunkies. In fact, they’re so much stronger because they’re the last line of defense. They’re also there to test anyone worthy to pass over to the next level. However, stopping them is imperative.

Apart from making the world a much safer place by eradicating greater evils, bosses also drop more resources than their goons and they also, as we’ve mentioned, grant passage to anyone who bests them.

On the upper right corner of the screen is a meter that indicates your progress through a stage. The numbers mean how many levels of the stage you’ve cleared and the closer you get to the end, the sooner you’ll be able to fight the stage’s endboss which is normally a bigger, badder boss than the ones you’ve previously fought.

Naturally, the more bosses you slay, the farther you’ll get in the game but always remember that each boss will always be tougher than the last—no boss goes down without a fight! Whenever you feel like your party is strong enough to progress past your current level, tap the Summon Boss button to call the big baddie over.

seven knights idle adventure summon boss
Keep ’em coming.

You can opt to also fight bosses continuously. This can be achieved by keeping the Auto-Summon Boss button on. Once it’s on, the bosses will always show up without you having to press the Summon Boss button. This is quite convenient since you’ll be carrying your party forward without having to mind the game so much and this is especially useful if you’ve been diligently focusing on your team’s strengths.

However, we warn you if you enjoy the story, the game will progress at a much quicker pace and you might be left wondering who these strange characters are when they start talking, especially talks about witches unlocking their true potential and wielding their magicks for evil, but we’ll leave you to discover that for yourself.

Be warned that bosses have two gauges: one red one and a green one below. The red one is their life bar and the green one is the boss timer. Failing to deplete the red bar completely will result in you having to repeat the stage and attempt to kill the boss one more time. This will continue on until you’re able to defeat the boss, but you’ll need to ensure that your team is strong enough to conquer the next one.

There are many ways you can strengthen your team and this next bullet we will tackle in this guide is just one of them. Get ready!

3. Upgrade Your Influence Tiers

seven knights idle adventure influence tiers
Humble beginnings.

Bear with us, because this is going to sound extremely cheesy: the strength of your warriors lie within.

You can have all the world-ending spells you need, the best armor in the game, and weapons made from the most hellishly vile of dragon backsides, but true strength comes from within each and every single one of your party members. We’re talking about love, courage, hope—Influence!

“Influence?” you ask—yes, Influence. We don’t mean having Elke post a viral video of herself dancing to a popular song while Atalanta and Halo commit various crimes in the background. Influence in Seven Knights Idle Adventure is actually a trio of stats which dictate the passive stats of all of your heroes combined.

Regardless of who you have with you currently and who you don’t have yet, this feature covers everyone and is quite nifty since you don’t have to individually build on each and every one of your heroes like in most hero collector RPGs, especially on mobile.

Influence is divided into 3 different stats:

  • Attack — This affects the overall damage dealt by your heroes. More Attack means more damage inflicted unto the enemy.
  • Defense — This affects how much damage is reduced from enemy attacks. More defense means lesser damage received from the enemy.
  • HP — This affects the total amount of HP each of your heroes have. More HP means tougher heroes.

Influence is upgraded through the usage of gold. Spending gold on these stats to make any and all of your heroes stronger is basically how it works. These can be leveled up one by one, in batches of 10 levels, or in batches of 100 levels. Of course, leveling up in batches means a greater amount of gold spent.

After reaching a certain level cap with all 3 stats in the Influence tab, your Influence tier goes up and all the stats return to Lv1. However, this doesn’t affect the values that they’ve hit previously before the Influence level rises.

For example, if your Attack has hit its level cap and its value is at 500, its value will increase when your overall Influence level has risen. This will allow it to rise to even bigger numbers, but as we mentioned in this very paragraph, all other stats have to reach capacity before they can all increase in tier.

Do not be confused with your Knight’s Order—this is your player level. Doing this only requires you to simply play through the game and nothing more.

While this group leveling is indeed powerful, you may still focus on each and every individual hero that you have in your party.

4. Strengthen Your Heroes Often

strengthening heroes in seven knights idle adventure
Pump them up.

Micromanagement in any idle RPG is pretty common.

For instance, it’s possible to do the group strengthening that we discussed earlier, but from time to time, heroes having their own specializations will be needed. Let’s put it this way: all of your heroes can be strong as a whole, but when it comes to being able to soak up damage, deal damage, or heal, this requires a little nudge on the end of each of your individual heroes (more on character types later).

Having a group of strong heroes can really carry you through the levels—with a solid team, you’ll easily kick boss monsters to the curb and reap the rewards of all your success. However, leveling up heroes isn’t a walk in the park.

While it would seem like it should be for anyone experienced playing idle RPGs, earning currency to strengthen any mighty warrior in your party can get a bit difficult. Doing so will require a special currency called Hero EXP which look like blue orbs of essence. This doesn’t drop quite as often as gold, but later on, we’ll tell you where you can get these en masse.

As you go through each stage in the game, you’ll eventually encounter a major chapter in the story which will increase the slots of your entire party. As opposed to most RPGs wherein your party will only have a maximum of 3 or 4 active members at a time, but Seven Knights Idle Adventure has some surprising numbers. In fact, for the main storyline, the number of heroes you can have in total is 15, whereas playing in the Dungeons and PvP will allot you a whopping 25 heroes all in all.

However, this will require you to first progress through the story in order to gain all these slots. Just always keep in mind that more heroes naturally means a stronger team, so work hard for those hero slots!

Let’s see—Elke, Atalanta, Ponpo, Halo… maybe a few more heroes? This is definitely less than 15 or 25. How do you fill the rest of the slots? Read on!

5. Summon More Heroes

summoning heroes in seven knights idle adventure
Ooh, shiny! Who could it be?

The Seven Knights themselves are a mighty group of 7 legendary warriors who have gone missing. It’s said that having them fight by your side will allow you to save the world twice over.

The gacha game genre is not new in mobile gaming. Popular titles that have been known to fall under this genre are the likes of Hero Wars, RAID: Shadow Legends, Souls, Heir of Light, Mythic Heroes, Dislyte, and Neural Cloud. Usually, this would involve the player to draw for heroes (sometimes equipment, depending on the game) albeit through singular draws or batch draws of 10 or more.

Seven Knights, much like the aforementioned titles, is a hero collector. That said, this game has a gacha feature wherein the player can spend a special currency to summon various heroes to their side. This currency is called Hero Cards which can be obtained through claiming rewards.

The Hero Cards can be spent in the Shop menu one by one, in batches of 10, or in batches of 30. In using these Hero Cards, you will be able to level up the Summon Level which increases the likelihood of summoning heroes of greater tiers.

Heroes are divided into the following tiers:

  • Common (Grey)
  • Uncommon (Green)
  • Rare (Blue)
  • Epic (Purple)
  • Unique (Orange)
  • Legendary (Yellow)

Getting higher-tiered heroes will guarantee you a more powerful team. While you won’t get high-tier heroes all the time, you will get duplicates of heroes you already have. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re useless or redundant—you can use duplicates to further Advance a hero’s star level.

A hero’s star level grants them stat bonuses and in Advancing them, they will become even more powerful than they initially were. So don’t be discouraged if you keep getting duplicates, use those duplicates to make your heroes stronger. In exchange, the Codex will reward you with Rubies, the in-game’s premium currency.

Advance them all with a single button.

With all these heroes bearing different backstories, abilities, and roles, who do you know who to field? Who should you choose for your team?

6. Assemble a Team that Suits the Situation

seven knights idle adventure team formation
With a proper formation, too!

Fighter, Mage, Thief—these are the most prominent classes in any RPG. But when you have more than just these 3 fighting, who gets to lead the charge?

Interestingly enough, Seven Knights Idle Adventure is a team building game. Though, it should come off as no surprise to anyone given that there are a lot of different heroes available for use in the game.

Unlike many other hero collectors out in the market today, Seven Knights doesn’t follow a strict advantage vs disadvantage or rock-paper-scissors type of system. A cleverly-built team should be what matters most, especially if it fits the situation of your battle.

Contrary to the opening statement of this very bullet, Seven Knights doesn’t have 3 but 4 character types:

  • Defense Type — Sturdier than most, these characters stand tall where others fall and die.
    • Melee Type — The backbone of your team. Characters classified under this type are those who aren’t afraid to get down and dirty.
    • Ranged Type — Coupled with the Melee Types, these characters assist in pushing the enemy back when their attacks are fierce. They excel in dealing great amounts of damage from afar.
  • Support Type — Does the enemy need to be withered? Do your heroes need to be kept alive and healthy? These are the characters you need to call on. With powerful spells at their disposal, they can turn the tide of the fight all the way around.

Very early on in the game, team composition doesn’t mean much. Your goal, after all, is to annihilate the boss and climb through the stages. Therefore, having a team entirely focused on attacking the enemy and providing maximum damage output is recommended. Getting ahead and unlocking more features of the game as you go should be your focus since this may also lead to you unlocking some of those juicy hero slots.

However, later on and as you progress further, you will need to make use of the other hero types in order to succeed since the monsters will become more powerful. This also applies to the Dungeons you’ll slowly unlock.

Granted that in most Dungeons, your goal is to defeat monsters or bosses within a set amount of time, getting your best attackers is a great idea. If they aren’t strong enough, go back to leveling them up or increasing your Influence Tiers.

Fight, fight, fight!

Other than that, there’s also the PvP mode which you might unlock eventually—this mode will require more diverse teams if you wish to win any and all of your battles. To illustrate, sending a team focused solely on attackers like Melee and Ranged Types will result in a crushing defeat if their team has a capable set of Defense Types and Support Types.

Thankfully, you have a set of team loadouts that you can easily switch whenever you see fit by tapping the Knight Chess Piece icon on the lower right portion of the screen. It’s here where you can swiftly switch between the different teams you’ve put together so far. Diversify your teams when the situation calls for it and you’ll be unstoppable!

Speaking of Dungeons, how about we briefly tackle that so you know where to grind?

7. Visit the Dungeons for Extra Resources

seven knights idle adventure giant gargoyle
The bigger they are…

The main campaign shouldn’t just be your only mode of earning resources.

Your warriors exist to do battle and to keep the realms safe from monster invasions. When the enemy gets more difficult in the later levels, it’s time to take a step back for a while and find a means to get them stronger. This can be done by fighting in special areas called Dungeons.

Dungeons are special battles that offer different kinds of rewards. Each dungeon follows a specific mechanic wherein your heroes are put to the test of fighting different monsters and bosses depending on the Dungeon of your choice. Unlike the campaign which is readily accessible, Dungeons can only be accessed through the use of specific keys per Dungeon. These keys can only be earned through rewards in-game.

While there are many Dungeons to attempt in Seven Knights Idle Adventure, here are a few of the ones you’ll be tackling early on:

  • Gold Dungeon
  • Hero EXP Dungeon
  • Knight’s Token Dungeon

As their names imply, this is where you get specific resources. Get gold if you wish to further increase your Influence Tiers, Hero EXP for your hero’s individual levels, and Knight’s Tokens later on for your hero’s Traits (which you’ll unlock eventually). Each Dungeon has a set of difficulties which increase after you’ve conquered them.

Higher difficulties net more resources, but they come at the price of you fighting more difficult monsters, so only send the best of the best to farm for these. Failing to do this will not consume the key you spent to access the Dungeon, but you will not gain any resources from it.

Do your heroes still fall short in terms of strength? Are they needing an extra kick in their skills? Our next bullet might be able to help you with that.

8. Watch Ads for Daily Dishes

seven knights idle adventure daily dishes
Order up!

Your heroes cannot fight on an empty stomach!

Well, you can’t do anything on an empty stomach to begin with. Imagine having to be sent to fight monsters without anything in you: your swings will be labored, your spells will be withered, your defenses will be shaky, and your movements will be funky… and not in the good way, either! Imagine having to field your very group of heroes to fend off the forces of darkness. It wouldn’t be a very good sight to see them not give it their very best or give them motivation to try their hardest. This is where the Daily Dishes come in handy.

Yeah, we know that these can only be achieved by watching ads and sure, it can be a real pain in the neck since some ads feel much longer than they should. Consider this a break from watching over your troops so you can properly feed them. Of course, you can opt to send the devs some love if you want to remove ads for good. But this begs the question: what do the Daily Dishes do exactly?

Here’s a very brief description of each of the different Daily Dishes:

  • Cooked Three-Legged Crow’s Leg — Increases stage Gold drop by 10%
  • Fruna Shaved Ice — Increases stage Relic Shard drop by 30%
  • Pooki Soup — Increases stage Gold drop by 20%
  • Hell Gratin — Increases stage Chest drop by 100%
  • Wyvern Egg Omelette — Increases stage Hero EXP drop by 30%

While it would seem that these are supposed to strengthen your heroes on first impression (especially since some idle games have a similar mechanic), these actually help you in farming for resources instead.

Though, in a roundabout sort of way, they do help you in becoming stronger since earning all these materials will help you invest more into your heroes, thus pushing you forward in your progress. Activate them all so you get all the bonuses!

There are more riches than just those you can find from the corpses of your enemies, however.

9. Claim Rewards

seven knights idle adventure rewards
New reward every day!

Your efforts in trying to find your place in the Magic Society won’t go unrewarded!

We aren’t talking about the spoils you already earn from defeating the monstrous horde, we’re actually talking about the supplies you receive from supporters across the land who wish to see you succeed… or they could just be gifts from the developers of Seven Knights Idle Adventure. Either way, rewards are good, really good. If you don’t know where to claim them, then we’ll show you!

Claiming rewards in a mobile game is a pretty good way for developers to keep their players invested. With each day that they login, they’ll be given a slew of new gifts here and there that will keep them on their toes. Most of the time, rewards come to you from different parts of the game. In other words, you get rewarded just by playing the game and progressing!

Here are a few places wherein you can check for rewards:

  • Login Every Day — For each new day you open this game, you’ll be rewarded with all sorts of cool swag. Sometimes, they might even be Hero Cards! If, for some reason, you weren’t able to claim your daily rewards, you may access these on the left side of the screen by tapping the icon that looks like a calendar with a check mark on it.
    • Check Your Mailbox — A direct present from the devs to you, at least sometimes. You might also get special event-only loot or materials you’ll need to Advance other members of your party like Pets. You can find the Mailbox in the menu button which looks like four squares within a box located on the upper-right corner of the screen.
    • Attempt Events — Events only last for so long. That said, they also have exclusive heroes that, while rare to obtain through the usual summon, can be bought using a special event-only currency. Give these a shot! This can be attempted by tapping the icon that looks like a ticket with a star on it on the upper right side of the screen.
  • Do Missions — This serves as a task list for you to complete each day and week. They shower you with lots of Rubies, so if you wish to partake in this juicy premium currency, don’t miss out on them. You can access your list of missions by tapping the scroll icon at the bottom right of the screen and tapping the Missions tab.

There’s one last thing you can do to keep your heroes strong.

10. Leave the Game to Idle

seven knights idle adventure offline rewards
Sweet, sweet fruits of labor.

At the end of the day, there’s nothing you’d want to do more than to relax.

Put up your feet and watch your favorite show on your favorite streaming service (or channel if you still have television), have yourself a good meal, read your favorite book, play another game that you want on the side, or even sleep. There’s plenty to do at the end of a long, tiring day.

If there’s anything that doesn’t stop, however, it’s your heroes. They’re fighting the good fight and they’re out there risking themselves to keep the lands safe. Elke’s name will be spread across the countries as her being the greatest witch to ever live, but that’s probably only a dream of hers for now. Of course, only you could help her realize it, but just remember that this game is called an idle RPG for a reason.

If you’ve successfully triggered all of the Daily Dishes, leave your heroes to grind at a level and the game should go into Power Saving mode wherein it will play itself in the background. The same can be done with the game put aside and you logged off, but at least with the game left on, you’ll be able to check on your heroes every now and then.

But be sure to do this while you’re doing something else. You’ll never know what you’ll see when you return and you’d probably be surprised to see how much loot you gained from your hunts!

Regardless of what your goals are, Seven Knights Idle Adventure is not a difficult game to play. In fact, it’s a matter of patience and sinking a fair amount of hours into it to get ahead. Though, if you ever get stuck anywhere in the game, always remember what we’ve covered in this beginner’s guide:

  • The Guide Quests exist to propel you forward. Keep doing them so you can unlock more features of the game as well as get more hero slots!
  • Killing the next boss is always your goal. Work toward making your heroes powerful so you can conquer them easily. Just remember that each boss will be much stronger than the last, so prepare wisely and get your heroes pumped.
  • Your Influence Tiers are important. Constantly upgrade them with the gold you earn. Don’t be shy in upgrading them in batches, though.
  • Never forget to strengthen your heroes when you get the chance. While Hero EXP is sometimes hard to come by, don’t scrimp on the development of any of the heroes you currently have on your team.
  • Summon heroes. Summon more of them! You’ll be needing as many of these guys as you possibly can since many of them fit different roles and have different stats.
  • Later on, you might find that some bosses are quite difficult to beat. Try making a team that is diverse in its roles—get a Defense Type or a Support Type to back your charge up!
  • Dungeons give out tons of resources. Try completing these every now and then.
  • The Daily Dishes will help you farm for extra resources in the field. While they require ads to activate individually, we promise you that it’s all worth it!
  • Claim rewards wherever you may find them. They’re good for you!
  • Let the game idle. Do this while you’re doing something else and check back later when you have the chance. You should have enough resources to make your heroes stronger by then.

This wraps up our beginner’s guide for Seven Knights Idle Adventure. Let your heroes fight off the enemy hordes while you relax. Just remember that Elke’s fame hangs in the balance and that she really wants to get in that Magic Society. Celebrity or hero, there’s no difference! Oh and one more thing: no favors!

Have you brought yourself through the different levels that this RPG has to offer? Do you have a large army of powerful heroes already? Have you unlocked everything the game has to offer? Are you one that has united all of the titular Seven Knights? Feel free to leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comment section below this guide!
