Archero Ultimate Guide: 12 Tips, Hints & Strategies to Dominate Your Enemies

Archero is a new action game created by Habby, which has only been around a few weeks, but it has already secured a cushy spot in the top 10 games in its genre. The game is deceptively simple to play. You have a small rectangular map, with a directional pad at the bottom. It’s as straightforward as it gets, right?

Soon, you will be finding yourself dodging dozens of projectiles coming in from every direction. There are hundreds of levels to complete, and each death will send you all the way back to the beginning! Prepare yourself for the adventure of your life with the help of the best Archero tips, cheats and strategies!

2. Find The Perfect Skill Combination

Now that you know what each skill does in Archero, it’s time to have some fun. As you progress through the levels, you will be able to pick up additional skills. While you won’t be able to choose which three skills will be presented to you, you do have the chance to pick the best possible option. Your goal is to pick a skill that would benefit you on your current level, while still having the potential to build into something bigger later on.

One of the best skills to have in Archero is Ricochet. It makes quick work of the early levels and it has the potential to really wreak havoc once combined with skills like Front Arrow, Multishot, Diagonal Arrow, and Bouncy Walls. Imagine having all five of those skills late into the game. Arrows will be flying and bouncing all over the place!

Permanent boosts to your attack like Critical Master, Attack Boost, and Attack Speed Boost are also solid picks because enemies will have higher HP in later levels. These boosts will help make sure your basic damage scales well later on. Skills like Piercing Shot, Blaze, and Poisoned Touch also add a bit more weight to your punches. Finally, the Wingman skill is indispensable once you have a pet, so always grab it.

3. Get Better Gear

archero chest and gems

Your character starts out with just a basic bow. It will take a while before you can get your next piece of equipment without spending real money. Once every 24 hours, you get a free Golden Chest which drops Common and Great gear. You also get a free Obsidian Chest once every 7 days. Make sure you claim these as soon as they become available because the countdown won’t start until you do so.

Once you have better equipment, you should upgrade them whenever you can. Upgrading costs scrolls and coins. You can get scrolls by killing enemies. There is a small chance for scrolls to drop when an enemy dies. The higher the equipment level, the more scrolls you will need, so you will need a lot of them. Finally, you can sacrifice duplicate equipment through the Fuse option in order to gain more upgrade materials.

4. Choose The Right Weapon

archero weapon

While we are on the subject of equipment, it is also a good idea to stick with the weapon that best suits you once you have more options. The best weapon in Archero by far is the Boomerang as it returns to you and deals additional damage on the way back. Add in some good skills like the Ricochet, and you will be raising hell in any map. The Scythe is also a good option due to its knockback skill and naturally high damage output.

If you haven’t been lucky enough to get either of the two weapons above, you can always just stick to the Bow which can still be decent later in the game if you manage to upgrade it enough. If you prefer attack speed above everything else, then the Blade is the perfect weapon for you.

5. Unlock And Upgrade Talents

archero talents list

As you play the game, you will quickly realize that it is impossible to complete a chapter on your first run. That’s because you start out very weak. You will probably get to stage 20 in Verdant Prairie on your first try if you are really good. After that, it’s just too difficult to keep up with the enemies dealing more damage and having more HP. The only way to get stronger is to unlock and upgrade Talents.

Talents are permanent boosts for you character. You can unlock them by spending coins in the Talent menu. There are 9 Talents in total and they are divided into three tiers. You don’t get to choose which ones to unlock and upgrade unfortunately. It is chosen randomly, and the cost of upgrading increases each time. When you get a Talent that has already been unlocked, it will be upgraded instead. We listed the different Talents below, so you have a better idea on what each one does.

Strength – Increases your maximum HP
Power – Increases your basic attack power
Recover – Boosts the healing effect of Red Hearts that drop from enemies
Iron Bulwark – Increases your collision damage resistance
Agile – Increases your basic attack speed
Inspire – Heals you whenever you level up
Enhance Equipment – Percentage increase to base stats of your equipment
Time Reward – Sends you a gift box every 60 minutes. The higher the level, the better the rewards you get from the box.
Glory – Lets you choose one out of three random skills before starting your run. This cannot be upgraded.

6. Observe Your Enemies

Now that you know all about how to prepare for battle with equipment, skills, and Talents, it is time to focus on actual combat. The first thing you need to do is to observe the behavior of your enemies. There are different types of monsters in each chapter. Pay attention to the timing of their attacks and the way they move. This will help you predict their movements and move yourself to a better position. It will also tell you the best time to attack or dodge.

7. Dodge Effectively

Dodging is the one skill that you need to truly master in Archero. All the upgrades in the world can only take you so far. If you can’t dodge effectively, you will never make it to the end of the final chapter. If you paid attention to our previous advice, you would know how your enemies attack. When you have multiple enemies that throw projectiles at the same time, it would be a good idea to stand still and bait out their attacks. Wait for them to attack then simply sidestep to dodge all the projectiles.

Try to think of ways to use the environment to your advantage as well. For example, you can position yourself behind a wall then just jump in and out to attack. If you are being chased by a bunch of enemies who rely on collision damage, see if you can lure them into a narrow corridor. This will allow you to shoot at them freely without getting surrounded.

8. Use Distance To Your Advantage

It doesn’t matter how far your opponent is, you will always be able to hit them with your weapon unless they are behind a wall. Try to stay as far away as possible in battle. This will give you the most time to dodge, especially since most enemy projectiles tend to spread out as they travel farther. Staying at the bottom of the stage as much as you can also helps you stay away from traps like spikes and moving saws. If you are playing with sound, you will be able to distinguish the sound of hitting an enemy from the sound of hitting a wall. If you hear that you’re hitting a wall, approach cautiously and find the best position.

9. Consider Angel And Devil Deals

archero offers

Every few stages, you will encounter an Angel or a Devil. The Angel will offer you a minor boost or a heal. If you are low on health, you should obviously choose the free heal. If your health is at 75% or above, it should be safe to choose the free boost. Dealing with the Devil, on the other hand, is a bit trickier because he asks for something in return. Make sure you only accept the deal from the Devil if you can afford to lose what he wants. For example, if he wants to take 180 maximum hp from you, but you got a free boost from the wheel earlier, then you can accept the Devil’s offer. Otherwise, you may be putting yourself at a bigger disadvantage.

10. Claim Your Free Roulette

After each Boss, you will see a prize wheel that will give you a random reward. Rewards can include boosts for your current run, gems, and coins. You will be given the option to spin again in exchange for watching a video advertisement. You can only do this up to five times per day. Make sure you take advantage of this offer every time it is available as it is a good way to boost your chances on your current run, or even get extra gems for opening chests.

11. Know When To Continue

archero hints

When you die, the game will give you a few seconds to decide if you want to continue or not. If you managed to get free continue chances, you can use those. Otherwise, it will cost you precious gems to continue. It really isn’t recommended to continue using gems since you only get a few of those while playing, and you need 300 to open a single Obsidian Chest. If you are determined to continue your run, however, make sure you are at least past your existing best record. You should also make sure that you can actually complete the level after continuing because you only get this offer once. If you already used a continue, your run will automatically end if you die again.

12. Use The Time-Lapse Cheat

The game requires 5 energy for each run, and you can only have up to a maximum of 20. That means you can only play four runs in a row before having to wait for energy to regenerate. If you don’t want to wait, the usual cheat is to change your device’s time and date settings to fool the game into thinking that enough time has passed. Unfortunately, the developers are on to you and your cheating ways. Even if you change the time, the fake energy regenerated will only appear for a second before the game synchronizes with its servers and makes things right. There is still a way around this, though.

If you are bent on getting more energy, and you have used up your all your ad offers, you can still use the time-lapse cheat. The trick is to disconnect from the internet before doing this. By playing offline, you will prevent the game from synchronizing with the servers. There is still another catch here. You can play offline, but you cannot upgrade anything until you connect to the internet!

The best thing to do here is to use the time-lapse cheat offline, then use up all the energy you got from cheating. Once you are done playing, you can safely reconnect to the internet. The game will synchronize with the servers once more and reset whatever energy you have leftover. The good news is any scrolls, equipment, and currency you earned while playing offline will stay with you. It is a bit complicated, but this is the only way to get more energy without having to spend gems.

Conquering all the levels in Archero is definitely a challenge, but with the help of our tips, cheats and strategies above, you will be breezing through the chapters! If you have anything to add to our list of tips, feel free to drop us a line in the comments!

Best combo in my opinion: multishot, back, side, and diagonal arrows, ricochet, and bouncy wall. If you can, ad death nova. You will wreak havoc upon every baddie out there. Also I got to the dragon boss in the dungeon on my first try. Second try I beat it. I think I’m kinda good at this game :p
