Smashy Road: Wanted 2 Guide: Tips, Cheats & Tricks to Survive Longer and Get a High Score

Smashy Road: Wanted 2 is an action arcade game developed by Bearbit Studios It’s a sequel to the award-winning Smashy Road: Wanted and its multiplayer version, Smashy Road: Arena. It improves upon the original game’s addicting gameplay, adding new features and vehicles, and even introduced different characters for you to choose from. It also improved the graphics of the original, features a procedurally-generated open world, and improved controls. Smashy Road: Wanted was already a great and fun game, but this sequel is much more engaging and addicting.

Naturally, hidden gems like Smashy Road: Wanted 2 aren’t super popular, and it’s a shame that not a lot of people have experienced playing it. If you’re one of those people, then you’re in for a treat. This game will drive you crazy.

To explain the gameplay, think Grand Theft Auto, but skip all of the story and walking around with weapons, and go straight to the mad police chase after you’ve racked up some stars and you’re now trying to get away. That’s how Smashy Road: Wanted 2 plays like. Now, that might sound simplistic, but the game is bombastic enough to keep you playing over and over again. The developers at Bearbit Studios completely understood which part of GTA is the most fun, and made a whole game out of it.

After reading this Smashy Road: Wanted 2 guide, you won’t be seeing this screen as often.

The team did take inspirations from GTA, and it shows in the design of the game. You play it in an isometric or top-down perspective, with your character driving a car, trying to avoid capture by the police. You gain score by surviving, doing tricks, wrecking other cars, and obtaining collectibles. When your score reaches certain thresholds, your wanted level increases, represented by flashing sirens at the top of the screen. The action can get hectic fast – reach 7 levels and tanks start appearing, chasing you. Reach 10 levels and the inter-galactic police force will start sending down flying saucers just to stop you.

The game also has a competitive aspect. While this arcade game is mostly played casually, there’s still a daily leaderboard that you can compete in. Each leaderboard only has a hundred people on it, and the scores and people reset every day. You can attempt to get on top regularly without worrying about long-term progress. Still, getting to the top isn’t so easy.

Thankfully, there are many tips we can share with you that will help you last longer in the game, get a higher score, and unlock new vehicles and drivers quickly. So without further ado, let’s dive into our Smashy Road: Wanted 2 guide, as we will share with you a bunch of tips, cheats and tricks to survive longer and get a high score!

1. How To Unlock New Vehicles And Drivers In Crashy Road: Wanted 2?

The wide range of options for vehicles and characters in Crashy Road: Wanted 2 isn’t purely cosmetic. Each one of the vehicles and characters have different stats that affect your performance in your runs. Some vehicles, like the Hovercraft, have special features, such as being able to drive over water. Using vehicles and drivers with high stats and mastering their features to your advantage are key to your success in the game.

Thankfully, it’s not hard to unlock better vehicles and drivers for you to play around with. There are three different ways to do this.

smashy road wanted 2 first roll

Your first roll will guarantee a star, with a brand-new vehicle, a character, and an upgrade.

The first is through the slot machine. You can use the slot machine for every $100 you collect. Every spin will randomly give you either a vehicle or a driver of a random rarity. There are four rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Needless to say, the most awesome vehicles and the best drivers are either Epic or Legendary.

Sometimes, the slot machine will stop on a star – giving you a driver, a vehicle, and an upgrade. You are guaranteed to get a star for the very first time you spin in the game. Be sure to save the upgrade for a good vehicle and don’t waste it on common cars. Upgrades increase your vehicles’ stats, and are only obtainable by getting duplicate vehicles and drivers, so they are quite rare at the beginning.

Meanwhile, you earn cash by completing side missions and by picking them up in the game. Simply passing over cash either while driving or on foot will let you pick up the cash instantly. They come in different colors and give you different amounts of money. The green cash bills will give you $1, blue for $2, purple for $3, and yellow for $4.

There’s no point in hoarding cash in this game, so go spin the roulette as soon as you get enough cash.

Another way to get new vehicles and drivers is by completing main missions. The main missions have corresponding vehicles or characters that will be unlocked when you complete them. We’ll be talking about these later on, but some of the best vehicles and drivers can only be unlocked this way.

Finally, you can simply buy the vehicles and drivers you want directly from the shop. Sometimes, the game offers discounted bundles of the vehicles and drivers. However, as said above, the vehicles and characters locked behind the main missions cannot be unlocked using this method.

2. Completing The Main Missions: Guide, Tips, And Tricks

Smashy Road: Wanted 2 is so casual, it doesn’t even bother explaining how its missions can be completed. They are simply listed on the menu screen, leaving you to figure out how to finish them. The simplest way to do main missions is by finding the purple question marks on your map. Tap on the mini-map on the upper left of the screen (this also pauses the game so you can take your time), and you’ll see a few purple question marks scattered across the map.

Until you arrive in these locations, you’ll never know what will be there, but it’s always going to trigger one of the game’s main missions. In the map screen, you can also tap one of the purple question marks to toggle a waypoint marker, which will display an arrow on the screen that you may follow to reach your destination. Once you’ve attempted a mission once, the purple question mark that used to represent it on the map will be replaced by its corresponding icon.

Running around freestyle can help you survive some pesky situations.

Even when you’ve already triggered the main mission, the game will still not tell you what you’re supposed to do. Most of the time, it’s easy to guess what the objective is. But to help you play better, we’ve listed down the different main missions and how you can finish them:

Collect All SR Letters – Find and collect all the ten letters of S.M.A.S.H.Y. R.O.A.D. that randomly appear in the game. You can collect them across different runs. This will unlock the Bearbit Racer Mystery Vehicle.

Number 1 – Find the F1 racing track, ride one of the parked vehicles at the starting line, and finish first in the ensuing race. This will unlock the Circuit Boss Mystery Vehicle.

Zombies – Find the corrupted building and ride the Zombie Smasher truck (black and green colored vehicle). Zombies will spawn in the area and green meteors will fall from the sky. Run over 40 zombies within 50 seconds to complete the mission and unlock the Zombie Smasher Mystery Vehicle.

Key to Success – Find the carnival and ride the Clown Car. This will instantly unlock the Clown Car Mystery Vehicle and the NOFUN Mystery Character. The Clown Car is a fantastic car – it has very poor handling and low health, but it drops clown bombs randomly in its wake, blasting all the cop cars on your trail.

Bank Robbery – Find the bank and enter the police car parked in front of it. A truck will appear that will be carrying a truckload of cash on its trunk. Follow the truck and wreck it within the time limit. This unlocks the Police Car Mystery Vehicle.

Fire Fighter – Find the yellow firetruck and put out six fires with it within one minute. This will unlock the Water Jet 3000 Mystery Vehicle.

Alien Invasion – Incur the wrath of the Intergalactic Space Force by reaching Wanted Level 10. The flashing sirens will be replaced by alien heads and will instantly unlock the Alien Mystery driver.

Swim Swim Swim – Swim for a total of 1,000 meters. Progress for this is cumulative across different playthroughs, so you don’t have to feel pressured doing it in one run. This unlocks the Diver Mystery Character, which has insane swim stats, but very low health and running speed.

That’s a Tank – Find the military facility and ride the Tank. The Tank is super tough, and is even capable of shooting others with its cannon. With it, you’re nearly unstoppable, even as UFOs descend from the sky. Completing this quest unlocks The Cantract Mystery Character.

Big Air Time – Drive your vehicle at a high speed on any ramp (with green dashed arrows) and launch yourself in the air for about 100 meters. This unlocks the Bunny Mystery Character.

3. Getting A High Score In Smashy Road: Wanted 2

While completing missions and finding all the collectibles may be the end goal for casual players, those who have a competitive streak will want to get the highest score there is possible. Smashy Road’s subreddit even have people posting scores of 20,000 points and above. To top that, you will need to do more than just aimlessly driving around.

tips to get a high score in smashy road wanted 2

Always come prepared so you can last longer in the game.

Here are some general tips and tricks for you to consider on your next run in Smashy Road: Wanted 2.

Come Prepared – Always bring your A-Game. Select the best vehicle and the best character you have every after run. When you unlock new characters and vehicles, compare its stats to the one you currently use, and pick the better one. For vehicles, though, you should choose the one you’re most comfortable with even if it has lower stats than others. Keeping your initial vehicle at the start of the run alive can make your total run longer.

Adding Depth to Your Strategy – You may not notice it at first, especially when you’re playing using the top-down view mode. But the terrain in the game actually have different depths. Recognizing which platforms are deeper than others can help you plan your escape. Check the map at the start of the run so you can avoid mountainous parts that will block your progress, and jump over ledges to lose speeding cars following you.

Run, Forrest, Run! – Something new introduced in Smashy Road: Wanted 2 is the ability to exit your car. Cops can also exit their cars, walk to yours, and arrest you without killing you. When you see that this is about to happen and you can’t drive away, ditch the car and start running! Some characters even have high enough running speeds to outrun bullets and vehicles.

Be Choosy – Every once in a while, a friendly helicopter will arrive and drop upgrades for you. You may pick them up to help you survive longer, but you can only have up to two at a time. Once you have two upgrades, every succeeding drop will only give you the same upgrades as the two you already have. Collecting more of these will increase the power of your upgrades.

While it might be tempting to get all upgrades as soon as you see them, it actually pays to pass on these when you know they aren’t necessarily useful for your run. You can see the kind of upgrade and its rarity by looking at its sprite and its color. Green upgrades are common, blue upgrades are rare, and purple upgrades are epic. For me, personally, the best upgrade is the Vehicle Force Field, which allows you to ram other vehicles without damaging your own.

Play Around Water – Especially in the early parts of a run, you will be relatively safer swimming in the water than driving around the city. Although money doesn’t spawn on water, police cars also can’t touch you while you’re swimming. Switch between land and water as you try to keep your oxygen meter high enough. Things only get hairy if you enter open waters as the coast guard starts getting involved, or when the police start to send snipers after you. At these points, exit the water and start driving away again.

We hope that these tips will help you set new world records in Smashy Road: Wanted 2. It takes a lot of effort to reach very high scores, but with these tips, you’ll be able to reach your goal easily. Playing more of the game will also improve your split-second decision-making skills, allowing you to live longer in-game and score even higher. So take our tips with you and escape the cops. A new high score awaits you.

Personally, any 5 digit score run starts with acquiring the tank. Whenever I get the tank I get at least a score of 10k, and my high score is something around 30k

I noticed you never mentioned the legendary pickup from the helicopter. (It gives you a jet pack or a gravity gun)
