MARVEL Future Revolution has introduced fans of the Marvel Universe as well as MMORPG enthusiasts into a huge and breath-taking open world. With hardly anything that prevents players from venturing across its vastness as much as time accords them to, a typical experience for every player who jumps into MARVEL Future Revolution is met with a highly active and populated virtual world brimming with action and adventure at every turn.
There may only be 8 unique superheroes to play as in MARVEL Future Revolution, but that certainly will not prevent anyone from expressing the uniqueness of their chosen character. Costumes and outward appearances alone for each character leaves a near-infinite mixture of costume skins to match, almost ensuring a unique appearance for each player. Having 2 different players using the same character will not likely result in both characters being similar in every respect as stats, skill set, gears, and omega card choices, along with masteries and specializations, guarantees a completely different build for each character.
If you have just started playing the game, and have yet to secure a firm grasp of the basic features and mechanics, we highly recommend that you read our MARVEL Future Revolution beginner’s guide. Although we provided a basic description of each superhero in the beginner’s guide, a more detailed presentation of each one’s unique strengths and limitations can be picked up from our tier list. For this new guide, our focus will be shifting to recommended builds for each character. There is certainly a plethora of ways to go about it with some more effective than others.
In our previous guides, we mentioned that each character will either excel in PvE content or PvP challenges. Despite that, each one can still be built to be capable of efficiently handling any kind of challenge at hand. While filling up all available character slots and strengthening different characters in your squad can already benefit each of your heroes through squad level boosts, there is also a looming inclination to build each character differently to specialize in different kinds of challenges. Although, this is naturally a fun and exciting activity to revel in however, focusing on strengthening just one hero can take a lot of time and effort already.

As expected, recommended builds denote reaching high enough levels and unlocking all aspects of character customizations. Some of the more challenging aspects of builds do not exclusively rely on effort as well given the gacha approach towards securing gears and omega cards. What we are shooting for here is not to present an endgame build that players should mimic in every respect. Rather, these builds are expected to instead provide an insight as to how you should either capitalize on a hero’s strength or work on cushioning their weaknesses.
Black Widow
Black Widow can certainly deal decent damage to enemies and top it all off with various control and debuff effects. There are no massive damage outputs in one go and her ultimate skill is both an offensive tool and a defensive boost as well. Damage outputs on its own will not make her stand out especially in PvE combat. However, making full utilization of her utilities to maximize her damage outputs is one way of making her more effective against mobs and bosses.

Trained Assassin, Quick Step Strike – charges at enemies and moves to nearby targets in quick succession to deal huge damage.
Explosive Expert, High Explosive Grenade – throws a grenade that deals fire damage, inflicting knockdown and burn as well to each enemy within its radius.
Widow’s Sting, Concentrated Fire – an excellent skill to use against enemies lined up or single targets with a straight rapid fire shot that deals massive damage.
Fire Arm Expert, Frag Bullets – lets her fire an explosive bullet and fires extra shots to detonate it on her targets causing knockdown.
Widow’s Wire, Upward Slash – uses Black Widow’s wires like a whip striking targets multiple times for raw damage.

Captain America may not be our favorite Marvel superhero of all time but he is certainly one of our top picks in MARVEL Future Revolution. He definitely has superb defensive skills and building him for PvE content can be as varied depending on which game modes you wish to specialize in. Essentially, this will be a dichotomous choice between further amplifying his defensive capabilities to become the ultimate tank, or build a balanced build and focus a little more on boosting his damage capabilities.
Skills And Masteries
Reporting for Duty, Precise Attack – throws shield at the target, dealing damage and inflicting knockdown plus defense reduction.
Captain’s Leadership, Captain’s Command – a defense boost for Captain America and nearby allies. Other skill masteries should be considered for solo adventures
Unbreakable Will, Shield of Courage – does low damage to targets but can inflict stun, which is useful across any game mode or enemy.
Sentinel of Liberty, Line of Fire – a spinning attack that deals multiple hits to targets within its radius and while different masteries have different damage scales relative to cool down, Line of Fire is our preference for the knockback and bleed effects.
Spearhead, Forefront – charges at the enemy shields first 2 times consecutively, dealing damage and knocking targets back.

Captain Marvel stands as among the most potent attackers in MARVEL Future Revolution. She can easily win if it becomes a race to finish off a single target and while she does not offer much in terms of defense, it stands that she should aim to eliminate enemies fast before succumbing to damage. She is very straightforward to use and a favorite among players who value DPS over anything else.

Energy Impact, Cosmic Recharge – We are considering this not for its damage to multiple targets and its knockdown effect but rather for being a means to recover ultimate gauge faster.
Photon Flight, Hero’s Entrance – a series of light speed flights across enemy targets that deal massive damage as well as a knockdown finisher.
Photon Charge, Blast Cone – Not as damaging but has low cool down period and its value rests in increasing subsequent damage that targets receive for a short duration.
Photon Energy, Explosive Flow – causes an energy explosion on the ground sending enemies airborne and has high guard break potential.

Doctor Strange is certainly one of the characters that make it very easy to build for PvE content. It would seem that you can never go wrong with any choice you make on how you strengthen him as he is among the best for PvE game modes. He is very strong against mobs of enemies but needs a bit of work against enemy bosses and strong single targets which is why how we recommend to build him is aimed towards making him a little more efficient against stronger enemies.

Mirror Dimension, Dimensional Lockdown – deals little damage but locks enemies in place for a short period of time.

Iron Man is a potent ranged attacker who may not excel in dealing damage per se, but rather comes with a plethora of utilities that can cripple the opposition, leaving even stronger opponents at bay. While Iron Man does not stand out in PvE game modes, he is definitely a dominant force in the PVP arena. Despite the lack of raw firepower in PvE content, his debuffs come in handy and our recommended build for him is to simply boost his damage outputs for PvE.

Extra Firepower, Incendiary Bomb – secures distance from enemies with a dodge maneuver, then launches incendiary bombs to deal flame damage, increasing subsequent damage received by targets for a short period of time.
Nanite Plasma, Laser Cutter – shoots mid-range lasers on surrounding enemies to deal damage and reduce their DEF for a few seconds.
Tactile Satellite, Party Time Protocol – charges forward at enemies to deal damage and knock them down, subsequently summoning 2 Iron Man suits to fire at enemies for a limited period of time.
Micromissiles, Napalm Bomb – launches a napalm bomb at enemies to deal flame damage and burns the ground for continuous damage, increasing subsequent damage received by enemies for a short period of time.

Star-Lord has practically equal potential across both PvE and PvP game modes. However, he will slowly start to shine from mid towards the end game as you can sync more elemental effects better. For PvE, we prefer capitalizing more on the burn effect and stack it up more than others, leading to increase damage capacity.

You can certainly pierce through a lot of the early content with her regardless of your choices but you most certainly have to focus on specific elements to make her even more effective. For us, going with lightning mastery seems the best choice for PvE game modes.
