ONEMT’s King’s Choice remains as among the top kingdom management RPGs in the mobile gaming scene, set in the medieval era. Although King’s Choice has already been loaded with tons of features since its launch back in 2020, it continues to grow even more following its continuous updates that further add new content as well as shower players with a plethora of unique special events.
Managing your very own kingdom may not be as simple and straightforward as it seems, as your role in King’s Choice stray further from what you might expect from a king more anchored on reality. Given that the overabundance of features and activities in King’s Choice makes it a huge challenge to cover everything in just one guide, and since the game has also introduced new content recently, we are inclined to provide an advanced guide to cover more tips and strategies to help boost your progression rate further.
1. Take Care Of Your Lovers And Heirs
While we tend to consider checking the Interior Ministry first after visiting your virtual kingdom in King’s Choice, it becomes equally important to tend to the Royal Garden as often as well. Collection of resources and governance ensues within the Interior Ministry, necessitating frequent visits in it, but the Royal Garden houses your lovers, heirs, and even your pets. As such, you should consider it as at least as important as the former.
Growing and strengthening your kingdom in King’s Choice may seem centered around the knights you recruit and enhance. Lovers, heirs, and pets, however, also contribute to those objectives. Just like the knights you command, there are numerous lovers to join you in King’s Choice as your adventure progresses. Lovers are not just eye candy partners for you to collect as they can help grow and strengthen your empire depending on how you spend your time with them.
Lovers have 2 main stats that you need to raise. Intimacy is indicated by the heart while charm is indicated by a rose. Raising both these stats is important, but depending on which partners you have and which knights you have heavily invested in, some can become more important than others. Regular visits to lovers normally mean expending random greeting attempts, which is a maximum of 3 but replenishes once every 30 minutes. While random greetings may increase Lover Power Points, this has no effect on the lover’s intimacy and charm levels.
You can take lovers out on a date by spending gold or give them gifts to raise their intimacy levels. Reaching certain milestones of intimacy increase the attributes of heirs they produce. More importantly, higher intimacy levels let lovers earn more Love Power Relations, further unlocking more upgrade options for their corresponding knight. Dating also guarantees producing heirs. Random greetings can also lead to a date, ensuring an offspring immediately after.

However, dates from random greetings will not increase the lover’s intimacy and no heirs will be produced if you do not have sufficient space for additional ones. Certain gifts increase a lover’s charm instead of intimacy. A higher level of charm lets lovers earn more power points from random greetings and balls they attend.
Heirs that you and your lovers produce not only has random genders, but their stats and attributes are random as well. Once an heir is born, it is recommended to immediately name them, guide them, and dispatch them to the preferred scene. Considering an heir’s attributes, 1 of the 4 available training scenes will grant more EXP for them, leading to a faster growth.
Although heirs gain EXP and reach new levels idly over time, be sure to expend available guide attempts on them. You can also instantly replenish 2 guide attempts if you are eager to increase their levels. Once heirs reach their max level, which is basically 20, they will be ready to move out and get married. The intimacy level of your lovers, however, can also impact the talents and level caps of heirs, enabling them to earn more State Power later on.
Adult but unmarried heirs can be found in the Diplomatic Marriages area of the Royal Garden. From there, you can send or accept marriage proposals from heirs of other lords. Only heirs with the same nobility title can marry, though. Clicking on the “Find Love” button will check available single heirs on your server but on a more proactive standpoint, you can choose the “Arrange Marriage” option and spend gold or a sapphire ring to propose within the server or your alliance. State power can be earned from the attributes of your heir’s spouse.
2. Nurture And Breed Pets
One of the biggest new features introduced in King’s Choice, following its recent first anniversary celebration, is the Pet System which lets players adopt, care for, and breed their very own virtual fur-babies. There are numerous cat and dog breeds to adopt and care for, each with its own unique traits and characteristics. Almost comparable to the heirs system, breeding new pets will also yield different traits, almost ensuring that no 2 pets are exactly the same.
The cosmetic appeal of pets under your care is actually enough to breathe more life into your kingdom’s royal gardens and the collection aspect of the feature, paired with the random elements associated with breeding them, certainly suffices to provide extra levels of excitement. Beyond all these, however, having pets also bring additional perks that can actually boost your kingdom’s power.
To unlock the pet system in King’s Choice, you need to clear chapter 20 of the outpost campaign first. You can get your first pet for free and the initially available pets beyond that will cost real money. Although we have yet to encounter a special event that rewards players with a new pet, we are fairly certain that there are free ways to obtain more other than breeding and purchasing them. There are also limited slots for pets within the royal garden based on the lord’s home level.
There are limited instances to pet your adorable fur-babies but it replenishes over time. Petting them is equivalent to nurturing heirs as it leads to their growth and development. Pets start at level 1 but once they maxed out their level, they are considered adults and are able to breed. You can only breed pets of the same species but each species of pets has a variety of breeds, with each one having a corresponding bloodline.
Pets have their own unique stats and abilities. After highlighting a pet, you can immediately see their stats composed of physique, intelligence, liveliness, obedience, and friendliness. The effect of each stat, however, have no observable effect as of yet other than having to meet milestone requirements to activate their bloodline abilities. Breeding pets likely yield offspring that have better stats at base level, leading to even better stats with each new level reached.
A pet’s bloodline is basically a passive boost that can positively affect specific features in King’s Choice. Activating a bloodline and improving its effects rests on meeting the pet’s ability requirement. Taking a German Shepherd, as an example, it’s Pure bloodline activates once its Physique and Obedience stats reach 60. This will boost your yields from negotiations by 4%. When both Physique and Obedience reach 75 and 90, the boost granted will increase to 8% and 12% respectively.
Bloodline activities do not activate simply by having the specific pet. You will need to set them as companions by clicking on the paw icon at the right side of the pet page and assigning pets on the available slots. Players can only have a maximum of 3 pets set as companions at one time and the one occupying the top slot will be shown on the lord’s avatar. Pets assigned as companion have a cooldown period as well before they can be replaces with another pet.
Breeding pets are somewhat comparable to making and accepting marriage proposals for adult heirs. However, since the more important consideration for pets are having offspring, players who consume a pet collar are guaranteed to receive an offspring following successful breeding. Players who do not use a pet collar, however, will receive a pet collar as their reward.
One important feature associated with pets to take important note of, is the Pet Release function, which was previously called Pet Park. You can access it via its icon at the upper right side of the pet page but be sure to only consider it when you have no room for new pets and a foreseeable offspring is coming.
The Pet Release function is described as taking your pet back to the pet park but what some players might miss is that once you release them to the park, you can never have them back. As a small compensation, though, a small percentage of food consumed for growing your pet will be given back to you.
Speaking of pet food, there is a good reason to visit the pet shop each day, even if you are not open to purchasing new pets using real money. In addition to actual pets, the pet shop is where you can process pet food as well. You only need to consume grains to gain pet food.
However, each succeeding pet food processed will cost about twice as much as the current one so you will have a limiting factor to how many you purchase each day. In some cases, a notification will also appear if the pet food processing costs a little too much. Giving your pet some pet food works much like petting them so if you are in a rush to have a mature pet ready for breeding, then purchase at least 5 pet food each day.
3. Join An Active Alliance
Joining and maintaining membership in an active alliance should actually form part of the basic tips and strategies we mentioned in our beginner’s guide. As a kingdom management and RPG at the same time, King’s Choice makes it very important for every lord to associate themselves with other lords of the land. Much like other online multiplayer games of the same nature, King’s Choice can be played and enjoyed without needing other players but there is a plethora of content and features that are exclusively accessible only to members of an alliance.
In contrast with most games with a clan, guild, alliance, or faction system, King’s Choice makes it so that players will need to progress in their adventure a little longer than usual before they can start or apply for an alliance. To some extent, this will promote alliances to only have active members that will help one another to meet the alliance’s objectives and targets.
The equivalent of donations for clans in most games is the construction system of alliances in King’s Choice. Although gold is the basic means of contributing to constructions, consider it a must to partake in this activity as it provides Alliance EXP and Alliance Wealth to your alliance while also granting Alliance Coins and Alliance Contribution Points for you. If you can afford to do so, spending 200 gold daily for the Alliance Construction is very helpful especially if your Alliance is very competitive.
The Road Construction feature in alliances lets every alliance member deploy knights to develop unlocked areas and earn rewards. If you look at the map, it’s basically connecting roads to get from one structure to another with each tile of road exhibiting a different ability symbol, relating to the 4 different talent types that knights excel in. Although you can deploy all knights on the same tile, the best course of action is to deploy those having the same symbols as the tiles.
The Dragon Bounty is yet another valuable Alliance activity where the Alliance’s leaders can spend Alliance Wealth to activate the feature. Alliance members can deploy knights to take on and slay monsters to earn their treasures. Alliance Contribution Points as well as Alliance Coins can be earned with each knight deployed and extra rewards are provided to each member for each monster slain. Alliance Coins earned can be used to exchange for a variety of valuable resources at the Alliance Store.
4. Memorize Paths In Patrol
One of the features common in kingdom management games lets you explore your kingdom casually and in King’s choice, the Patrol feature does just that. Set up on a first-person perspective, you basically just need to choose 1 from 4 different directions. Random events can happen with each location you visit but the fortune you can see at the upper left side of the screen determines how likely you are to meet a potential lover or earn other rewards.
There can be lover clues you can view through the note icon at the upper right side of the screen, hinting where you can meet some of them. Although you can only have 3 patrol attempts at a time, and that your fortune decreases with each step you make, both can be replenished with items and resources.
Despite its share of random elements, it helps to have a good sense of familiarity with each location you visit in patrol. For starters, having a solid idea of where to go following a hint can more quickly earn you intimacy to finally be with a new lover. Likewise, having a good sense of direction will prevent you from visiting the same place or places twice in a day as doing so will yield no rewards and be a waste of your patrol attempt.
5. Spend Your Gold Wisely
It almost goes without6 saying that premium currency in practically every game should be managed with prudence. Although King’s Choice provides more than enough ways for free players to earn gold especially if they are active, the overabundance of its uses provides more avenues for players to be tempted to spend it. It is not that spending gold is considered a bad thing especially since every way of spending them gets you something. However, we simply consider some of its uses as bigger and more important investments than others and, for that, we recommend thinking hard about every bit of gold you consume.
For starters, we already mentioned that it is important to allocate some budget for Alliance Construction using your gold, since there are hardly any workarounds for that activity and it is an important feature of the Alliance that you should not miss partaking in. In general, if there are other means of acquiring something other than spending gold, then you should consider alternatives. If not, then compare the benefits of spending gold in contrast with the perks of consuming it for other things.
Our top investment choice as far as gold investments are concerned is the University. Deploying your favorite knights at the university earns them skill points as well as talent EXP over time. Sessions take time but once it is done, you can engage in one again. You will start off with only one seat available and you will need to spend gold to purchase additional ones.
Note that gold costs almost exponentially increase with each new purchase but it is a tremendously beneficial investment especially if you can revisit the university often enough to maximize its use.
The “Develop All” function becomes available once you have unlocked at least 5 seats. This is a faster option of deploying multiple knights for training. Deployment in training still allows you to utilize knights on all other content and you can expend earned skill points and talent EXP immediately and consecutively as well. Both talent and skill upgrades can greatly increase your knight’s total attributes or power, effectively boosting your state power as well.
Another permanent improvement on your kingdom we prefer investing in are development spots. These are your available slots for heirs and having more available slots means more children to nurture. As we have already laid out the value of having more heirs early on, it only seems logical to have as many ready slots for upcoming heirs in King’s Choice.
Although it is apparently optional, holding banquets is something we consider as part of our daily routine in King’s Choice. Holding banquets cost gold as well as other resources for bigger ones. Earning banquet points are important as these can be exchanged for different valuable items at the banquet store. Although you can attend banquets consuming only silver for more points, do consider spending gold sometimes, especially for banquets of fellow alliance members.
6. Check Your Inventory Often
Considering the enormity of what King’s Choice has to offer as far as content and features are concerned, everything is designed in such a way that most consumable items can be used where they are needed. Replenishing energy for random greetings for lovers or nurturing heirs can be done on the same page much like increasing collection attempts in the Interior Ministry and replenishing stamina for patrols. This same applicability is useful in almost every means of strengthening knights or improving charisma and intimacy levels of lovers.
Beyond all that, however, King’s choice provides lords with a bag to hold all these resources along with other items that you collect throughout your adventure. Given that there is an abundance of different items to be used not just in the usual content but special events as well, it is highly likely that you will take some time to become familiar with each one. As such, this should be reason enough for you to check your bag often, especially if there is a red dot mark on it indicating a new item you have just acquired.
There are items in your inventory that come in the form of chests or other special packages. These chests need to be used first to reveal the real rewards they contain inside. As random as most of these are, these are the types of rewards that typically hold valuable items.
Likewise, there are plenty of items you will find in your inventory that can only be consumed in the bag window. While you may consider prudence in using some of these items but, for the most part, it is best to use them sooner than later as you would want a stronger state power and army with every step forward.
Relative to this, your bag in King’s choice holds a second tab for Knight Equipment. These are resources needed to increase your knights’ level cap once you have maxed them out, starting with level 100. These gears can be merged to obtain a higher rank one as higher level knights will need higher level knight equipment to further stretch their level caps. Be careful, though, as you might mistakenly expend all your lowest grade equipment and then immediately have a need for them afterwards.
7. Expend Attempts In The Arena
Whenever online connectivity is a requisite for playing a game, it usually relates to multiplayer content, which can be cooperative gameplay, competitive, or a mix of both. King’s Choice has its own share of activities for lords to engage in competitive or PvP activities and the arena stands as the basic game mode for these challenges.
The Arena in King’s Choice is unique and most experienced players, as far as variety of games played are concerned, will find it incomparable to more conventional arena combat. Arena battles involve all the knights in your employ, subject to some conditions. Only knights who are at least at level 60 can join arena challenges but when you are challenged by other lords, all knights in your employ will be considered.
Anyone from among your level 60 knights will be randomly selected to be your arena combatant. Each knight can only participate once and you have limited chances to change the knight to use when challenging other players. As a challenger, what you basically need to do is to defeat all knights belonging to the other player. Only 3 of your opponent’s knights are presented at a time and you can choose which one to duel first.
Using only one of your knights for each round, damage taken will be carried over to the next fight, much like a survival run in conventional games. If your knight loses, then the match ends and there will be a cool down period before you can engage in a match again. Your knight’s total attributes and corresponding skill levels determine their HP limit. Their attack damage, on the other hand, is based on their total talent and corresponding skill levels. Skill levels also determine chances for landing critical strikes.
After defeating an opponent’s knight, Honor Medals you earn can also be consumed to purchase temporary buffs. These buffs can vary in efficacy based on their relative costs. Buffs can increase attack power or even replenish a certain percentage of lost health. As a basic strategy, it becomes important to choose the best fitting buff after each round.
8. Establish A Routine To Maximize Your Gains
King’s choice is certainly one of those games that can easily grow to become a lifestyle game if you get hooked on it. Although active participation in every event and hours spent within your virtual kingdom is inarguably a factor towards your rate of growth and progression, it does not necessarily follow that more hours spent online means greater progression rates.
On a more advanced note, it boils down to establishing a routine centered around making the most with every visit, considering cool down periods for contents that replenish attempts over time. The Interior Ministry, Lovers, Heirs, University, and Patrol are just some of the activities that can impact your state power’s growth based on how often you take advantage of them within the day.
Although we consider following the main quest as our top priority in our beginner’s guide, there will naturally be points in your journey when it will take some time before you can accomplish the task at hand, such as finishing certain chapters in the campaign or reaching required milestones as far as your knights levels are concerned.
The more accustomed you become to all of the gameplay mechanics in King’s Choice, the less and less dependent you become to even consulting the daily quests and achievements list to know which activities you would want to engage in first and how often you should visit each one on a daily basis. For example, after spending a lot of time away from the game, you may want to expend collection attempts and government within the interior ministry, followed by tending to your heirs, lovers, and pets.
The initial check-in for the day will more likely leave you with numerous exclamation points on certain areas of the kingdom indicating concerns that require your attention. Note as well that King’s Choice consistently holds an abundance of special time-limited events and regardless of the availability of these events, checking them out, taking note of their availabilities based on time, and partaking as much as possible forms part of your regular activities.
