1. It’s All About The Money
As soon as you enter the game, you should start thinking about how you want to go about making money for the rest of your life. Not everything is within your control, though. For example, if you are born to parents with low generosity, they might not want to lend you a lot of money even if they have plenty of it. That is just for when you are still a minor, though. Once you turn 18, you can get your own job, or you can go to college. Getting your own job gives you financial independence right away, but you won’t be making a lot of money. If you choose to go to college, jobs with higher salaries will become available to you. The down side would be your student loans. The choice is yours, just make sure you get the best job possible in order to fulfill all your other needs in life.
2. Work On Your Stats
There are a few other needs to fulfill aside from money. These are your health, happiness, intelligence, and looks. BitLife – Life Simulator gives you several options for each of these, but the best ones are the gym, the library, and meditation. You can find all three under the Mind and Body tab. When it comes to relationships, though, you will just need to spend time with your family and friends. Spend as much time as you can spare for anyone you have a relationship with.

Keep in mind that there will be incidents that can reduce your stats. For example, if a loved one dies, the natural effect would be the loss of your happiness. If you get into an accident, you could lose your property, all of your stats, or worse, your life. Some things cannot be avoided, but you should still try to keep these things from happening if you can. You will need to work hard to recover any stats that you lose, so it is really better to play it safe to begin with.
3. Think Before You Choose
As we mentioned earlier, you will be living out your life through the choices you make. Before you make any major decisions, think about the possible consequences. For example, if you move to a different country and you have adult children, they may not be able to go with you. That means you will have a hard time maintaining your relationship with them. If you choose to try drugs or alcohol, you could end up addicted. Spending too much money on unnecessary things could get you broke. It could be fun to make random choices, but it isn’t advisable if you are trying to play the game seriously.
If you want to be able to make crazy choices without throwing away your life’s work, you will need to be cautious about it. Make sure you build up strong relationships and have a lot of money as well. For example, if you want to quit your job and try something new, you need to make sure you have enough money to cover your existing expenses in case you don’t make money in your new venture. Cars are considered assets, but they do not appreciate in value. It is still a good idea to buy one to at least help you get things done. Just don’t spend too much on cars. 5. Should You Skip College?
College is definitely a luxury option if you think about the loans you have to pay afterwards. If you want to skip it altogether, that is alright. You can get a job right away and start earning. However, skipping college will make certain job opportunities unavailable to your character. You do have the option to go back to college after some time, but you will have to quit your day job. You could enlist in the military and make your career there. Unfortunately, even if you get promoted to the highest possible position, your salary will still have a ceiling that is considerably lower than those available to college graduates.
One thing to note, however, is that getting a degree will only give you a chance at getting higher salaries. It does not guarantee a job after graduation. If you are struggling to find a job after getting your degree, you can always sign up for the military. The benefit of going into the military with at least a four-year degree in your hands is that you can enter as an officer. On top of that, you also have the chance to get promoted to General, which naturally has a much higher salary than the military positions available to non-degree holders. Once you have enough savings from your military career, you can opt to get an advanced degree or find a new career.
6. How To Look Better
Going to the gym helps you become more physically fit, but it does little to make you look better. If you really want better looks, the plastic surgeon is your best bet. Unfortunately, there are some risk factors in this as well. It is possible for the surgeon the mess up your nose job and you end up with worse stats than before you went under the knife. If your character is still young, don’t be in a hurry to improve. Sometimes, puberty will do its magic and turn your ugly duckling into a beautiful young adult. Other times, of course, puberty does nothing and you end up pretty much the same. It is a matter of luck, but you would still be able to go through life without dashing good looks, so it is up to you if you really want to do something about it.
7. Avoid Unwanted Pregnancy
If your character is a girl, there is always a risk of getting pregnant when you hook up with someone. This could be troublesome especially if it’s just a one-night stand with some stranger you met at the gym. You could end up becoming a single mom and never hearing from that stranger ever again. As you probably already know, kids cost money in BitLife – Life Simulator. You will also need to invest in your relationship with them. Keep in mind that you could also get pregnant if you hook up with another person while married to someone else. If your spouse finds out about the affair, you would end up with a child and a divorce. Try to avoid random hookups unless you can afford to have kids. The drain on your income and the strain on your character in having to juggle an additional relationship could get you into more trouble than it is worth.
8. Choose The Right Spouse
Before getting into a relationship, make sure you check how much money they have. If they die, you could inherit their millions! It is not just about gold digging, though. If the person you get into a relationship with has very little money, it could result in a higher cash outflow for your character. You need to always consider the money drain for your character in order to succeed in BitLife – Life Simulator. It is best if you steer clear of people who will potentially be a liability to you in the future.
There are other factors to look into such as the craziness rating. If the craziness rating is high, there is a good chance that a random even will end your relationship. It is better to not start anything with a crazy person. Of course, looks will also come into play. If your target spouse is significantly better looking than you, the chances of getting that person to love you back will be pretty low. The same is true for intelligence rating. The good news is, these two are things you can actually work on. Hit the gym, go to school, and study in the library until you become an acceptable mate for your target spouse.
9. Stay Out Of Jail
Jail is a very real possibility in this game, especially if you assault someone. There will be random events in your life where you will have the option to hit another person. For example, someone could come up and insult you or a loved one. The game will ask you if you want to forgive, ignore, insult them back, or assault them. If you choose to attack, you could end up in jail even if the other person provoked you.
If your character goes to jail, you will lose your job and your relationship rating with everyone will go down. You will still have to pay your loans and bills even if you are in jail, though. That means you will lose money without having any opportunity to earn it back. Is punching someone really worth all that trouble? No, it’s not. Stay out of jail!
10. If You Get Addicted
As you play BitLife – Life Simulator, you will eventually come across instances where you will have the chance to try alcohol and drugs. Even if you decide to try these just once, there is still the risk of addiction. If you do get addicted, you will have to go to rehab. Otherwise, you could end up losing your job, all of your money, destroy your relationships, and worst of all, you could die young. All these are negative consequences that are not worth the benefits of trying out addictive substances, so it is best if you just steered clear of them. Of course, if your goal is to live fast and die young, feel free to ignore this tip.
11. How To Stay Healthy
No matter how often you go to the gym, your character could still get sick. For minor illnesses like a cold or food poisoning, you could just wait for them to go away naturally. They are usually gone by the following year. For medium illnesses like laryngitis, you will need to go to the doctor. A doctor could fail in treating you, though. When that happens, you have the option to go to an alternative doctor. If they both fail, wait for the following year and try again.

For serious illnesses like schizophrenia, there is no cure. You will need to learn to cope with the illness for the rest of your life. For example, if your character has schizophrenia, you will need to go to alternative doctors regularly, meditate, go to the gym, and spend a lot of time with your family and friends. You will also have to deal with strange events and higher stat drops. One doctor you should stay away from, regardless of illness, is the witch doctor. There is always a chance of the treatment going horribly wrong, and you don’t want that added problem when you already have a serious illness to deal with.
12. Be A Good Student
If you decide that you want to go to college, you need to start preparing even when your character is still young. You just need to find the time to study once a year in order to build up your character’s future. Do this as soon as you have the option to do so, even if your character is still a child. Studying once a year does not have immediate effects, but when you graduate from high school, you have a better chance of getting college scholarships. You will also have a better shot at getting into the university that you want. Continuing good study habits throughout college will also increase your chances of getting interviewed for good jobs after you get your degree. Keep in mind, though, that studying for more than once every year will not have added effects.
When you do get into college, choose a good major. Going with Nursing, Information Systems, Medicine, and Politics could help you land jobs that pay a lot of money. Just make sure you keep an eye on student loans before you enroll. High student loans could eat up your income for the rest of your life, so you might want to choose a different path if the one you are eyeing is too expensive. If you were diligent enough, you could get a scholarship and forget about the student loan problem altogether.
13. Continuous Improvement Is Key
After you reach decent stats for each of your needs, you may be tempted to stop meditating, going to the gym, or studying in the library. Resist that temptation. Continuing all your good habits is not just about increasing your stats. It also helps protect you from negative events and increase your chances of good encounters. For example, if you meditate regularly, you will have good mental health and will be able to avoid illnesses like schizophrenia. If you continue to hit the books, you will have better chances of landing a good job. Keep working on your stats even if they are already good in order to maintain your quality of life.
14. Get More Out Of Your Job
If you decide to stick to one job for the rest of your character’s life, you may do so. Just keep in mind that some jobs, like the military, have a mandatory retirement age. If your job isn’t forcing you to retire, you can still ask for promotions or a raise even if your character is pretty old. Always ask for a salary increase once a year. You might not always get it, but you won’t know unless you try. There is no need to ask more than once every year since the answer will be the same.
15. Stick With Your Spouse
Divorce exists in BitLife – Life Simulator, but it is the last thing you want. Make sure you keep your spouse happy and maintain a strong relationship. Cheating on your spouse will have devastating consequences if you get caught. Make sure you take your spouse to the cinemas often, especially after a fight. If your spouse decides to get a divorce, they will get half of what you have in the bank. That’s a lot of money to throw away when you could have just stayed in a happy relationship instead. Of course, if you married someone rich and you decide to divorce them, you also end up with a pretty good settlement. Keep in mind, though, that you could remain a faithful spouse and still get your spouse’s money if they die and you end up with the inheritance.
16. Feel Free To Choose Your Orientation
Even though the characters in the game are given specific tendencies, you can still choose a different sexual orientation. A character can have strong heterosexual tendencies but can still become gay or bisexual through the choices you make. You are also free to have a relationship with characters of any gender. If you are role-playing in BitLife – Life Simulator, you can choose whichever orientation suits your story.
17. When To Start Over
There is a lot of luck involved in the game. Sometimes you get rich, generous parents. Other times, they basically hate you. Sometimes you are born naturally smart, good looking, and athletic. Other times, you don’t get any of the three. You could choose to roll with the punches and try to make the best out of what you are given. However, there will be times when it is better to just start over. If you notice that your character is continuously losing insane amounts of money despite having a high-paying career, it might be time to just create a new character. The money loss could be coming from student loans or it could be cause by mysterious forces. There is no point in trying to stop it, so you may as well just start over.
18. Want To Win The Lottery?
This game is probably your best chance of becoming a lottery winner, even if it is just imaginary money. The odds of winning the lottery is pretty high compared to real life. The key is to play often. Just buy around ten tickets every year and you will eventually win. It usually takes around four or five characters in order to win, but that is still a pretty good chance. The odds of winning is especially high when there is a big jackpot, so make sure you buy a ticket when you get the chance!
19. Go To The Cinemas For A Boost
Going to the cinemas in BitLife – Life Simulator is the equivalent of agreeing to watch a video advertisement. Doing so will give you a significant boost in happiness as well as improve your relationship with your family and friends. Just make sure you have internet connection before going to the movies because the game will need to access the ads online. If you have poor connection or if you are offline, the ad won’t play and you won’t get any boosts.
