Have you ever played Tower of Fantasy and found yourself scratching your head upon finding an object that you couldn’t make sense of no matter how much you inspected it? Maybe you found a puzzle that you’ve been stuck on for several hours with no chance of solving it? Or maybe you just need a few hints here and there to help you identify things that you’ve encountered in your travels?
Worry not for we at Level Winner have traversed the mysterious world of Aida to present to you our handy Tower of Fantasy Exploration Guide for beginners! Through this guide, we aim to explain what certain objects and items do while also giving you tips and tricks on what to do for future discoveries you might find that may not be explicitly mentioned in this guide!
1. Collect Treasure!
Treasure is the number one priority of every RPG explorer out there. However, each treasure that you find in Tower of Fantasy has different uses, can be found in multiple locations and can be unlocked in various ways. Below are the most common treasures you will encounter in the game:
Black and Gold Nucleus
A Black Nucleus is a black orb with a purple glow while a Gold Nucleus is a black orb with a golden glow. Finding these orbs not only gives you experience points in exploration, you can also use them in Gacha for a chance to gain characters and weapons.

These are found all over the world and may require you to explore spots in the world you won’t normally go to like behind houses or on small pieces of land around cliffs. Gold Nucleus are rarer and usually harder to find. You only need to interact with them to pick them up.
Rusted Iron Chests and Ruins Chests
Rusted Chests are rectangular boxes that have pink lights that can be found all over the world and can be interacted with normally to open and obtain its contents. Ruins Chests are exactly the same except their lights are green and can only be found in Ruins and special instances.
Password Chests
Password chests are triangular boxes that require chips to open. They can be found around the world and may sometimes be found in odd locations like inside bushes, below bridges and so on.
Blue type I chips can open blue type I password chests, purple type II chips can open pink type II password chests while gold type III chips can open password chests that will only appear once you defeat a world boss.
Supply Pods
Supply Pods are circular chests that may contain Black or Gold Nucleus and other rewards. A Type I Supply Pod and a Type II Supply Pod look similar to each other, except there is a blue glow on Type I and a golden glow for Type II. Type II also contains more valuable rewards and are a lot rarer than Type I.
Supply Pods can be found in three different situations. In the first situation is where a Supply Pod is placed on a location where it can be easily opened once you reach it. In the second situation, the Supply Pod glows red, has a ring around it and can only be opened once a boss monster or treasure guard is defeated. In the third situation, the Supply Pod is protected by a puzzle.

These puzzles can be as easy as burning thornvines in order to access it or as complicated as the example above where you have to look for encryptodroids in order to find the password to open the barrier protecting it.
2. Harvest Crops and Other Food Ingredients!
During your adventure, you may encounter sparkling things on the ground. These are usually crops or food ingredients that you can use to cook certain dishes.
However, not all ingredients can be found on the ground or obtained through normal means. Some have to be obtained by hunting beasts or killing mosters while some are obtained by fishing. To help you with your search, we have written down each ingredient’s location in a table below:

3. Explore Each Nook and Cranny!
Tower of Fantasy has many secrets to hide, not just in their quests but also in their world. Inspecting every nook and cranny and every shiny or interactable object is a must if you want to get your world completion to 100% or if you want to get a lot of rewards. Below are a few things to watch out for when exploring the world of Aida:
Investigation Spots
Investigation Spots are normally found in the highest structures, cliffs or mountains that overlook a scenic view. They are represented by a white eye icon that you can interact with in order to take a snapshot. This snapshot will be filed away in your Travel Log which can be found in Terminal > Chronicles > Travel Log.
If you’re unsure where else to find these spots, there are clues of these locations in your Travel Log. At this moment, there are several Investigation Spots that you can find in Astra, Banges, Navia, Crown, Warren and the Artificial Island.
Rideable Drones
Rideable drones can sometimes be found in certain locations around the world. They will always spawn in one location and will let you ride them if you interact with them. They can fly higher and for a longer duration than jetpacks and can be maneuvered up, down, left and right. These drones will help you reach the highest peaks, making the search for treasure and investigation spots a lot easier. However, be warned that these drones will not fly forever.
After a certain period, it will start overheating and smoking up, causing it to explode after some time. Once you notice these telltale signs, be prepared to drop at the closest surface or ready yourself to break your fall when needed.
Zipu Drones
Zipu Drones are orange and a lot smaller than rideable drones. These drones cannot be attacked or interacted with but will continuously move to a certain direction. If you go the opposite way or stop following it, it will also stop moving.
If followed, these drones will lead you to an NPC, which owns the drone, and they will give you a reward. Take note that you have to let these drones reach the NPC before you talk to the NPC for them to present you with the reward.
Interactable Compartments
Refrigerators, cabinets and other compartments found in man-made structures can be searched and may contain food ingredients. However, if you are close to an NPC, they may sometimes stop you from taking anything.
Telescope
Telescopes can only be found in the Navia, Crown and Warren Regions and are usually found high up in the mountains near a cliff. Interacting with these will open up a mini-game where you have to connect the stars in order to draw out a constellation. Completing the minigame will earn you exploration points and other rewards.
4. Jump!
If you are unsure of what a certain object or platform does, jump on them! Below are a few examples of instances where jumping would lead to treasure or a puzzle getting solved:
Ring of Echos
When you go to the Ring of Echos area in Astra, you will find stumps with a yellow center on them that play a note when you jump on them. This is a puzzle that starts from the stump that is next to the balloon fruits.
Once you jump on that stump, pay attention to the next stump that lights up and jump on it. Continue following the stumps that light up until you hear a noticeable change in music. A chest and a hologram of a girl will appear on the ground close to the final stump.
Glowshroom Jumping Puzzle
These glowshroom puzzles work similarly to the Ring of Echos puzzle. You have to jump on each glowshroom puzzle until you activate the first glowshroom of the puzzle and another one lights up. Jump on the glowshroom that lit up and continue to do so for the next ones that do.
Once you light up all the glowshrooms of a set, you will be given rewards like Black Nucleus. As a general guide, these puzzles usually gets solved by jumping on the smallest mushroom to the largest one.
5. The Composite Bow Is Your Best Friend
Tower of Fantasy makes use of elements not only for fighting enemies but also for interacting with objects and solving puzzles. This is why it is important to always have weapons of different elements equipped when exploring the terrain to cut down the time used to switch between elements you need at the moment.
However, there is one weapon that you can obtain even at the early stages of your gameplay that is a must for early exploration: the Composite Bow.
Composite Bows are imbued with the Flame element and is a long-ranged weapon: a combination that will serve you well when solving overworld puzzles. Most puzzles and obstacles require you to reach or attack objects from far away or high up and most also require you to use a Flame element. Below are samples of such puzzles:
Harvesting Dandelions
Dandelions require you to equip a weapon that you can use mid air or attack from a long range to harvest its seed. First, you need to attack it with any weapon. The three buds will disperse, with one falling on the floor and two floating up in the sky.
The one that fell on the floor can easily be picked up. However, the two floating buds must be attacked or shot in order to break and harvest it. In some cases, one of the buds may even contain a Black Nucleus.
Tar Pits
These are cave-shaped rocks that have black tar blocking its opening. Attacking it with a Flame weapon will melt away the tar and reveal a Black Nucleus that you can take.
Kerosenia
Kerosenia are plants that have a black substance on top of it. Attacking it with a Flame weapon will burn away that substance and produce a Black Nucleus that you can obtain.
Thornvines
Thornvines are tough vines that wrap themselves around a supply pod. Attacking it with a Flame weapon will burn away the thornvines, allowing you to open the supply pod and obtain the Black Nucleus within.
6. Elemental Orbs: An Alternative to Elemental Weapons
In some cases, you may not have a specific element available to you or you just don’t want to bother taking out a different weapon. During those times, you can use Elemental Orbs instead. Elemental Orbs can be seen rolling around the ground.
They can be lifted and thrown into objects or enemies and can be used as a tool or even a substitute for breaking items or solving puzzles that require a certain element to be used. They are not aggressive but will get angry and attack you once you throw it if it lives.
These orbs also have some specific uses and may sometimes be required instead of using an elemental weapon. An example of this is dealing with a Chowchow. These are giant blue flowers that release a Black or Gold Nucleus once you feed it a Water Orb. You have to pick up a Water Orb and throw it exactly at the center and wait for it to finish eating before harvesting the Black or Gold Nucleus.
7. Destroy!
Some objects in the world have to be destroyed in order to obtain items inside it. Below are some of the most notable examples:
Crates
Crates can be found everywhere in the world and can be pushed around, jumped on and destroyed. Destroying these crates may give you drops which are usually random crops.
Crystal Clusters and Crystal Pillars
Crystal Clusters are semi-rare chunky blocks of rocks which are colored based on the element of the cores they drop. Light Blue Crystals will drop Icecores, Dark Purplish-Blue Crystals will drop Magcores and Red Crystals will drop Firecores. These cores are used in enhancing and augment Ice, Volt and Flame weapons.
The first Crystal Clusters you will encounter in the game are in the cave after you choose your gender and pick up your blade. These may not be immediately noticed when you first play the game and we highly recommend harvesting these as they are not very common. Discharge skills will not work on these clusters.
Crystal Pillars on the other hand are more slender, translucent and found in large quantities almost everywhere in the world. They are also capable of dropping cores but at a lower rate.
Both Crystal Clusters and Pillars also drop Crystals which are used to provide 5 EXP to your equipment in order to level them up.
8. Invade Strongholds and Hideouts
Strongholds and hideouts are a series of structures where enemies live and make camp. Each one contains a supply pod and some can only be accessed once you defeat the boss, leader or treasure guard in that location.
Strongholds and hideouts that you’ve already cleared will appear gray in your map and will no longer reward you with a Supply Pod. Those that are in progress or have not been fully cleared appear blue instead.
In many of these strongholds and hideouts, you will find these interactable barrels. These barrels will explode once attacked or thrown. A good strategy to make use of them is to snipe them with long ranged weapons when an enemy is close to them.
When attacking them with melee weapons, these barrels give you 3 seconds to get away before exploding. You can also carry them and throw them towards an enemy. Be careful when doing this because you might drop the item if you are attacked by the enemy.
9. Unlock Omnium Towers and Spacerifts for Easy Travel
Omnium Towers
Omnium Towers are the most important structure to visit and activate for each region. This is because activating it through the Server robot will unlock the topology of the region in your map, making exploration easier. You can also teleport from anywhere in the world to these towers through your map.
However, be warned: while it is possible to activate the towers in Astra, Banges, Navia and Crown as soon as you get out of Astra and get your jetboard, the Warren Omnium Tower can only be unlocked once you get to that point in the main quest line.
There is no other way to unlock it since it is frozen until a certain event triggers it to be unfrozen. There is only one Omnium Tower per region and you can easily find their location because of the unique shape of their icon in your map.
Spacerift
Spacerifts are metal platforms connected to a metal pillar that emits bright yellow light. Like Omnium Towers, these spacerifts allow you to teleport to them from anywhere on the map. However, you also need to visit them and activate them once before you can use them.
10. Always Upgrade Your Suppressor
Suppressors play a huge role in exploration. These gadgets significantly increase your resistance to radiation which is important when exploring dangerous regions. Exploring these regions before upgrading your suppressor is possible but at the cost of your health.
Radiation will continuously eat away at your HP unless you heal yourself with HP-recovering food often. This can quickly become expensive so be sure to check if your suppressor is ready to be upgraded before attempting to cross a dangerous area!
11. Get Friends to Help or Solve Puzzles Wisely
Some puzzles will require you to get some help from friends or other players in order to solve them. However, there have been a few witty players who were able to solve these puzzles by themselves. Below are two examples of these instances.
Thrust Module Co-Op Puzzle
This puzzle is found on a circular platform with a password chest sitting at the center, enclosed in a bright red light. To solve it, you must push the modules inwards and require at least two people to solve. However, a solo player can still solve this puzzle by pushing each module quickly before it resets.
Weight Module Co-Op Puzzle
This puzzle is visually similar to the previous one except instead of having modules that need to be pushed, there are two pressure plates that need to be stepped on by at least two players. As a solo player, you need to lure an enemy to the other plate or throw an elemental orb on one plate before running to the other in order to solve it.
12. Get Relics from Ruins to Solve Puzzles
Some puzzles can only be solved once you obtain relics that are required to solve them. Most relics are obtained by entering Ruins and finishing a run. Ruins are these triangular structures that shoot a bright yellow light up to the sky.
Finishing a run once on easy is usually enough to obtain the relic that it holds. In some cases, the relic is given to you at the start of the run because it is instrumental in clearing the ruins. Below are two examples of puzzles that can only be solved by relics:
Singularity Rock
This puzzle can only be solved once you’ve obtained the Strange Cube from Ruin A-02 in the Astra Region. Once you have it, equip it and release a force on the statue. This will propel the supply pod off of the statue and release a Black Nucleus.
Induction Plate
This puzzle can only be solved once you’ve obtained the Omnium Cannon from Ruin A-03 in the Astra Region. Once you obtain it, equip it and target the plates with the Omnium Cannon to release a stone pillar, making a nearby plate release a Gold Nucleus.
13. Play Mini-Games and Activities!
Aside from ruins, there are various mini-games and activities you can access while exploring the world. Below are a few notable examples:
Star Gates
Star Gates are these rectangular purple portals you may randomly see in the world. They will only appear on the map if you go to Adventure (the third icon at the upper right side of your screen) > Select > Interstellar Exploration > Go.
These portals will take you to the Star Realm where you need to defeat waves of enemies to win rewards. After the final wave, Starseeds may appear which you need to deconstruct to summon a hidden boss. Defeating this boss will give you a bonus reward.
Training Facilities
Training Facilities can be accessed from these metal pillars that are scattered around Aesperia. These facilities reward you with Training Points after playing mini-games associated with the training that is available on that day.
The type of training available randomizes each day and there are only two that you can access once per day. If these pillars emit a bright yellow light, it means this training facility is available. You can also go to your map and check the icons to see which is active or not or you can also check the nearest training facility to find out. You can only do each challenge solo.
Below is a list of training facilities you can find per region:
Astra | Banges | Navia | Crown | Warren | Hykros |
Agility I Agility II Battle I Battle II Coordination I Speed I Speed II Technique I | Agility I Agility II Agility III Balance I Battle I Battle II Dodge I Flight I Flight II Flight III Gliding I Hunting I Speed I Speed II Speed III | Agility I Balance I Gliding I Logic I Logic II Memory I Memory II Speed I | Balance I Battle I Battle II Battle III Climbing I Climbing II Flight I Gliding I Logic I Logic II Memory I Rhythm I Speed I | Battle I Battle II Battle III Climbing I Logic I Logic II Memory I Speed I | Logic I Memory I |
Mogden
Mogdens are these giant mushrooms with a green body and red cap. When you find one of them, you can interact with them in order to open up the option to “play”. The challenges he gives you often involves jumping on a red mushroom in order to reach or attack an item. Upon completing the challenge you can receive a Black Nucleus and other rewards.
NPC Side Quests
There are many items and NPCs that you can interact with that will trigger a side quest. One notable side quest can be found while looking at the area behind the Astra Omnium Tower where a mysterious letter is found next to an NPC. Reading this letter will let you accept the quest.
While some quests can be found just from stumbling upon it, there are some that can easily be found by looking at the blue diamond icons on your map. A few of these side quests can lead you to isolated instances that you can only access once the quest becomes active.
