Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is the English version of the popular Japanese mobile game, and it’s now available for Android and iOS devices. Collecting cats in this game is as easy as placing toys and snacks in your yard and waiting for the cats to arrive. There are more than 40 cat varieties you can collect in this game, and that may include some rare cats; however, you will need to have some special items ready if you want to lure those rarer cats to your yard. The more cats show up on your Catbook (which logs the visitors to your yard), the more successful you can be in this game.

1. About The Toys You Can Place In Your Yard
As we explained above, toys are one of the things you can use to entice cats to your yard. Some of these toys will cost you silver fish, while others will cost you gold fish. And it won’t really matter what toy you buy if you’re thinking of special abilities or advantages; a specific toy attracts a specific cat, and that’s all there is to it. Typically, more expensive toys will cost gold fish, and these can be used to attract rarer cats to your yard.
2. More Expensive Food Attracts More Cats
All of the cats in this game will eat the food you leave out in your yard, regardless of the food or the type of cat. But if you buy more expensive food, you’ll be attracting more cats, and more frequently. Expensive food also has the additional benefit of luring in rarer cats and keeping them there as they play with the premium toys you purchased.
3. Use The Time Lapse Cheat
Setting the time ahead on your phone or tablet allows the cats to appear early, and you wouldn’t have to wait for them as you normally would. This also allows you to quickly redeem the gifts the cats left for you upon their arrival. But take note that switching the time back to normal would mean having to wait until after you reach the time you switched your device to when doing the time lapse cheat.
4. What Do The Cats Do When They Turn Up?
One good thing about Neko Atsume’s mechanic is that the cats can actually give you gifts, which may include silver fish (the standard currency) or gold fish (the premium currency). Yes, that’s right – the cats will reward you with gifts when they appear, and will leave them when they leave your yard. And if you don’t open the game for some time, they can give you gifts as well. They’ll appear in your cat diary/Catbook even if you weren’t playing for some time, so that’s one thing to consider if you don’t plan to play the game for a while.
