Funny Fighters Beginner’s Guide: Tips, Tricks & Strategies to Dominate the Battlefield

As you menacingly slap a slipper on your palm, you stalk your prey across the wide swath of bushes. There he is, punching a pot open for loot. You charge at him from stealth, ready to beat the poor guy like a cockroach you found walking all over your food. To your surprise, he grabs you by the collar and throws you at the pot! Now it’s on! A duel for the equipment in the pot.

A slap here, a punch there, grappling and slamming and dodging and lunging until your opponent goes down, unable to take the pain from your rubber slipper’s lethal floppiness. You go to collect your loot… Only to have a giant inflatable hammer flatten you from behind the bushes. Turns out someone was watching the whole thing and waited until both of you had your guards down. Welcome to your average Funny Fighters Battle Royale fight.

funny fighters fight

Funny Fighters, published by LTGAMES GLOBAL, is a top-down fighter much like Brawl Stars and Little Big Robots, with very similar game modes and mechanics, with weapons that may be familiar to Southeast Asian players in particular.

While both those games have a strong emphasis on your player character, Funny Fighters is much more reliant on the weapons you find on any map and game mode: While each character has a unique, highly lethal ultimate skill and some even have unique movement abilities, the majority of your fighting and learning will be made with the weapons you find on each map.

These weapons can range from sensible things like Sniper Rifles, Bows, and Gatling Guns, all the way to Selfie Sticks, Durian Flails, Large Trouts, and the dreaded Rubber Slipper. Some matches may go for a long while before even letting you use your ultimate, so learning the weaponry is highly important.

It’s also unique in that, unlike most battle royale weapon-based games, fistfighting is also a deadly skill any player worth their salt should learn thanks to its powerful Grab ability, rather than being a mere stopgap until you find something funny to fight with. We hope this guide helps you with winning your chicken dinner.

THE BASICS OF FUNNY FIGHTERS

funny fighters typical day
A typical day in Funny Fighters.

Funny Fighters is a top-down team-based combat game similar to games like Brawl Stars, with an emphasis on learning how to use the many, many weapon pickups as opposed to simply mastering the characters themselves. Here are the basic elements of combat.

The Controls

funny fighters controls
How to move it!

As usual with these types of games, the movement controls are on the left and the battle controls are on the right. You have a large attack button, an item swap button, an item pickup button left of the attack button, a movement skill on top of the attack button, and a charger which turns into an Ultimate attack button once it fills.

The Item Grab button is quite special out of all of them: It allows you to throw your weapon at people, lunge toward items and enemies if you aim it first, and it lets you grab enemy players if you either do it close enough or jump into them with the lunge.

Bushes and Fog

funny fighters stealth
The nice steam bath is a happy bonus.

Bushes and Fog allow you to hide, actively cloaking you. This means your character model’s size matters not, which lets certain weapons like the Inflatable Hammer be ruthlessly effective from within Bushes. While Fog cannot be set alight by explosions and other fiery weaponry, Bushes can, and walking into burning Bushes will cause you to lose HP over time until the fire goes away. Bushes can be burnt away, but will eventually regrow after a while.

Pickups and Food, and the Growth Mechanic

funny fighters food
funny fighters lifting
A healthy diet keeps one strong.

If it’s not bolted to the floor and it’s small enough to pick up, it’s a weapon! From chairs to selfie sticks to durians on a flail, various weapons and objects are scattered around the map either on respawn pads or as decoration.

Knocking out enemy players causes them to drop food, which heals your character. If you’re at full HP and eat food, your character grows bigger and gets increased max HP, enabling the character to carry heavier objects. Up to and including cars, vending machines, lamp posts, and hostile players. Both these things together can turn prolonged games into absolute madness.

PRE-BATTLE PREP, AND GETTING STRONGER

funny fighters pre-battle
Finish your homework before the square-up.

As you play, you will unlock characters and mods for weapons, and learn how certain weapons work. In particular, the use of Mods and upgrading characters are important to take note of. Here are some notes on how to use Mods, and in particular a note on why you should pick a main Hero and focus on weapons you are effective with.

Mod Usage

funny fighters mods
Hammer size correlates directly with the amount of fun experienced.

Mods are items you use to upgrade Weapons. When you carry a weapon, whatever stats it has in the hands of the enemy will change to the stats your own weapons have, though they’ll keep their equipped skin.

Each weapon can have a total of 4 mods equipped, and mods come in different quality tiers: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Common, Rare, and Epic mods tend to be stat boosts, while Legendary Mods are either powerful stat boosts or unique abilities such as giving the Inflatable Hammer a triple explosion on full charge. For reference, a Common Mod is 1/3 as strong as an Epic Mod, so you’re always looking to get better mods via the next thing we’re gonna talk about.

Mod Combination

funny fighters mod combination
Squish 4 of these mods. While you only get something 3 strong, it eats up only 1 space.

Mod Combination allows you to combine 4 mods of the same quality into a single mod of a higher quality. You can only combine Common and Rare Mods, with Epic Mods being consumed in Mod Conversion instead. You can take mods for weapons you don’t like, cram them in here, and hope you get something for a weapon you DO like.

Mod Conversion

funny fighters mod conversion
Got a ton of good mods for weapons you dislike so much you’d rather use fists? Put ’em here.

So you converted a ton of Rare Mods into Epic Mods… For weapons you don’t like. No prob! Send them to Mod Conversion. Mod Conversion allows you to combine 4 Epic Mods into a single Epic Mod for a specific weapon, which changes every day. If the weapon listed is something you want, it’s a good time to use Mod Conversion.

Test the Characters, and Pick A Main!

funny fighters character
Ow! Right in the wallet!

If you don’t like any of the free characters you unlock from the early tutorial quests, you better spend wisely for a character you DO like: Some of them can get very expensive, such as Miss Theory and Jade. Upgrading characters in general also starts out cheap but rapidly gets painful the closer the character gets to Lv10, which is the maximum.

As a new player, you’re better off learning one character well and upgrading them heavily, as opposed to being lukewarm with several characters you use only decently. It helps a bit to use the starters though, as you often get quests involving them, but such quests don’t typically require making them overly strong. Thankfully, you can test them all! Go to Hero, then pick a Hero whether you own them or not, then pick Try.

This will put you on a map full of harmless targets where you can test a Hero with infinite Ultimate energy and the ability to pick and choose any weapon. This is a good way to practice with the Hero, and the various weapons in the game. This leads us to…

Focus On Modding Your Favorite Gear, Preferably More Common Weapons

funny fighters smoke grenade
You don’t need this many good mods for a one-time-use eye blocker that appears once in a blue moon.

As it is expensive to upgrade Heroes, it is also fairly tough to get Mods for weapons you like thanks to the sheer number of weapons available and the random nature of Mod rewards and combinations. As such, test weapons out and figure out what you like. When the time comes that you accumulate a ton of lower-tier mods, you’ll know which weapons to keep upgraded while un-Modding all the others for Mod Combination and Conversion.

As for modding more common weapons over rarer gear, we have the weapons in our Weapon List listed in order of commonality if they’re similar, such as the Selfie Stick and Fishing Rod, which essentially work the same but for the Fishing Rod hitting harder and using a different set of mods.

FIGHTING TACTICS

funny fighters big brawl
A beautiful mess this is!

Most of what you do will be looking for hostile players and shoving a big ol’ spiky durian into their noses. While upgrades are important, they’re no use if you just rush into the enemy team willy-nilly without a head on your shoulders. Here are some tips on fighting.

No Melee Weapon? Keep A Free Hand

funny fighters battle
Watch THESE guns!

More often than not, you’ll need a hand free to fight effectively. Being able to grab objects and players is a simple but powerful ability with lots of utility, and while the damage of bare-fisted punch attacks is weak, they’re still threatening especially against longer-ranged melee weapon users who typically suffer an opening at shorter ranges.

It’s also a good idea to keep one hand free if all you have is some form of gun in Battle Royale and lack a proper melee weapon since you don’t want to waste ammo on pots.

Do Not Underestimate Unarmed Foes

funny fighters battle
It bears using this screenshot twice to prove why you don’t mess with THESE guns.

If you see an unarmed enemy, approach carefully especially if it’s late in a Battle Royale match: Your target might just be a skilled fistfighter, and if they lasted that long unarmed then they are likely skilled indeed. An effective fistfighter is good at using grabs to render an opponent incapable of fighting back, chipping away one’s HP bar in the time it takes for the target to recover, in which case the fighter can grab and throw the opponent into a wall once again.

The best counter against such a fighter at close range is the Selfie Stick or Fishing Rod, which has a long enough range to beat bare fists safely but lacks the close-range opening bigger weapons like the Rubber Ducky or the Luggage suffer from. Also, you can dash away and shoot them with a ranged weapon, or learn fistfighting yourself so you can give them a taste of their own medicine!

Low HP? Long-winded Ultimate? Hold It!

funny fighters ultimate
Say hello to my little friend!

In all game modes, your Ultimate charge persists through respawns, even in Solo Deathmatch where each respawn is a different character and you lose all your weapons, not just the ones you have out. On the other hand, dying while your Ultimate is out wastes it entirely. If you use characters like Miss Theory, Soundclash, or Peach who have long-duration Ultimates that don’t provide HP shields or invulnerability, you might as well wait for a heal or a respawn before using your Ultimate.

Especially if the Ultimate renders you unable to move AND lacks shields, like Soundclash.  You don’t want the entire duration of your Ultimate tossed out just because someone insulted your last millimeter of HP away right as you pressed the button.

On the other hand though, if you’re using someone like Monk, Nerdy Kelly, or Mecha Baby who have either Ultimate shields or invulnerability of some sort, or Boom Bro who has a very direct and simple boomerang attack, go nuts: it may just save your match.

Heavy Weapons Love Bushes

funny fighters can't see me
For some reason, they can’t see the giant hammer peeking out of the smoke.

As for the heavier, slower weaponry such as Rubber Duckies, the Lego Cannon, or the Lamp Post, such weapons are best used from stealth: Their slow wind-ups, long-range, extreme damage, and poor mobility all come together to favor attacks from cover, with the Rubber Ducky, Inflatable Hammer, and Lamp Post being powerful fight openers but poor for prolonged combat. Weapons like the Sniper Rifle, Kar98k, and especially the Mortar and Lego Cannon also render you highly vulnerable in the open but allow you to strike from a very long range unseen.

Artillery Duel? Shoot Back While They Shoot First

funny fighters artillery duel
Wait for it… Fire!

In Team Arena matches, the second Mortars and Lego Cannons become available, it is almost a guarantee that both teams will bring one to the fight. If you’re the one on your team who grabbed it, go to a nearby bush which puts enemy-side bushes in range of your gun, and wait patiently: If you see two enemies and don’t see the third, the third guy is likely doing the same thing as you and hiding in a bush with their own big gun. Keep an eye on the bushes.

If they fire, smack them with some counter-battery fire to force them out of their bush, or kill them outright. The only time you should fire first is if your team is not doing well, or if you see the third guy early before he’s in position to fire, or didn’t take an artillery piece at all. Or silliest of all, the enemy team decided to deploy their cannon in the open.

GAME MODES

funny fighters game modes
What to do, where to go?

There are many game modes in Funny Fighters, and every single one of them involves grievous amounts of tension, chaos, laughter, and salt. Fights are either huge untidy brawls or twitchy dagger-eyed duels whenever both teams crash into each other either in the frontline or the flanks of any map.  Just make sure to mind your MSG-to-blood ratio once you inevitably see the respawn counter and remember: it’s just a game, and it’s supposed to be funny!

Classic

funny fighters classic
Slapstick at its finest.

Classic Mode is just another way of saying “Team Deathmatch”. You have two teams, each of you starts with one random weapon, and you get into a scuffle with the enemy team, respawning after death until one team racks up a total of 15 kills, winning the match. There are 2 maps, one in Arcade and one in Popular, both of which are asymmetrical.

The usual one you will fight in is the Old Street map since that’s in the Ranked rotation too. The western spawn has a distinct but rarely noticed advantage in the form of a Lamp Post you can nab. If you don’t like the starter weapon you get and someone took the weapon on the spawner, you might as well try to grab the Lamp Post, unless you’re good at fist fighting.

Arena

funny fighters arena
Pick wisely and tread carefully.

Similar to Team Deathmatch, Arena is a 3-round battle between 2 teams of 3 fighters. If someone gets KO’ed, they don’t get back up until the next round. Nobody starts out armed, but there are 4 weapon spawners on each team base, and while they spawn weapons slowly as a fight progresses, they refresh each round so the weapons match for both teams upon the start of a round.

Both Arena maps typically have lots of bushes in or around the center, and are both symmetrical from top to bottom, with Confrontation having multiple patches of bushes scattered everywhere and Siege having a large hollow square of bushes in the center. This makes battle starts quite tense especially if the available weapons include Mortars, Lego Cannons, or Inflatable Hammers, all of which excel in Bush-heavy terrain.

Individual Duel

funny fighters duel
One-on-one, let’s go!

A 1v1 match! Much like Arena except you are alone with your opponent, Duel matches have you and your opponent fight each other. The map only has a few bushes and both of you are provided with a choice of 3 weapons at the start of every match, of which you can pick up 2. There are also various throwable objects such as TNT and Gas Tanks all over the map. Whoever wins 3 matches first wins, just like Arena mode.

Solo Deathmatch

funny fighters heroes
Hope you leveled 3 Heroes.

Solo Deathmatch differs from Individual Duel in that you must pick 3 Heroes, and whoever gets killed respawns as their next Hero with their HP refilled, but whoever isn’t killed keeps using their current Hero in their current state. Basically, the extra Heroes are also your extra lives.

This makes Solo Deathmatch one of the toughest modes in the game since it can be tough to level multiple heroes, and it really isn’t worth it to make your main suffer for the sake of one game mode. To the writer’s dismay, he discovered the hard way that a player’s safest choice is to use their strongest character last, as all three characters share the same Ultimate battery.

Heist

funny fighters heist
Rush B! Rush B!

Heist is where you go if you want to shout “Rush B, rush B!” Players are divided into two teams: Cops and Robbers. The Robbers are to bring a bomb to one of the safes on the map and blow it open. Cops are there to stop them via a Selfie Stick to the face. This goes on for multiple rounds until one team wins 3 times, and each team switches roles every 2 rounds.

A team wins a round either by wiping the enemy team all over the floor, or by defusing or detonating the bomb after it’s been planted. At the start of every round, you can buy some weapons with a stipend that stacks with whatever you haven’t spent in the previous round.

Maps in Heist tend to be winding urban mazes with notable chokepoints and places to hide, so be careful of Inflatable Hammers hiding in Fog early on, and watch out for people who know you’re doing the same thing later on.

Gold Rush

funny fighters gold rush
It’s payday!

Gold Rush is a very aggressive mode, in which both teams run toward the center of the map, either a river or some form of coin dispenser, to collect coins. The usual map for Gold Rush has a dispenser in the middle of a Bush-heavy map, and the Arcade map comes with a river and respawning Grappling Hooks for everyone.

For the normal map, everyone will likely rush aggressively to the center, stalking the bushes around it and getting into a huge brawl in and around the center. With the Arcade map, they can use the provided Grappling Hooks to collect Coins flowing downstream in the river, and the hooks can be thrown to cross the river so you can either attack the enemy team or drag enemy players to yourself, at both your risk.

Each player can collect coins and hold on to them, and if the total number of coins held by the team reaches 10, a countdown begins signaling incoming victory for that team… Unless one of those team members carrying the coins gets turned past tense, in which case that guy drops the coins in their pocket. The other team can then collect those coins, turning the fight around.

Battle Royale, BR Duo, BR Frenzy

funny fighters battle royale
Winner winner, chicken dinner!

Big maps! Chicken dinner! And a scramble for weaponry! Battle Royale, BR Duo, and BR Frenzy let you drop into a large map, inaccurately picking a spawn point from the air via a flying machine carrying all the players before the fight properly starts. Picking a good drop point can make or break a fight: You can drop into a place full of Pots or next to a Large Pot to guarantee weapon drops at risk of enemy players thinking the same, or drop into a relatively empty area to avoid the enemy… at risk of other players thinking the same.

Sometimes you just have to pray the other players don’t press the Paradrop button at the same time as you. Secondary Items such as ammo refills for ranged weapons, passive buffs, and healing items can be collected and used from the top=right of the screen. The Piranha Plant excels here thanks to the abundance of TNT and Gas Tanks, and the long-winded nature of the mode.

Battle Royale Solo has you drop in alone for a nasty free-for-all, BR Duo gives you a teammate and some items specific to team support become available, and BR Frenzy is a giant team match available only in Arcade match rotations where everyone gets respawn timers.

Soccer

funny fighters soccer
I’m pretty sure we’re not supposed to carry the ball, but whatever.

A mode only available in the Arcade rotation set, Soccer matches are like actual soccer matches except you get to use your hands in the form of the Grab button. You must grab the ball and toss it into the enemy goal, and prevent the enemy from doing the same to you. Random throwable items and non-damaging Support weapons appear across the field which you can use to non-lethally inconvenience enemies.

Remember that you can grab friendly and hostile players too: A potential tactic is to grab enemy players and throw them away from the ball, grab a friendly ball carrier and toss them closer to the enemy goal, or simply to disorient every enemy you can grab hold on. You can also punch them into the respawn screen if all else fails.

WEAPONS

funny fighters weapons 3
funny fighters weapons 4
An odd arsenal, but a fun one!

There are tons of weapons in Funny Fighters, most of which are weird and unique in their use, with only a few weapons being stronger versions of themselves. Learning the use of these weapons is key to survival and victory, though actually being able to get the ones you favor is great too!

MELEE – Weapons meant for close combat.

Bare Knuckles

funny fighters punch
Fight me mano-a-mano!

Having empty hands is a unique weapon in its own right: All characters punch fairly fast but don’t hit as hard as the Fork, and especially not as hard as the Slipper, which would outstrip bare fists in raw DPS easily. Bare-knuckle fighting has one big advantage over either of those though: Your hands are free and you can grab items, from mundane chairs and exploding barrels, up to and including hostile or friendly players!

Grabbing enemy players and throwing them into a  very nearby wall or another player using the Drop Item button stuns them for a very short time, but long enough for you to get a few punches in if you did the equivalent of grabbing them by the collar and mashing their face into a wall, ie threw them at a wall in melee range of you.

Some of the nastiest players can do this to their opponents repeatedly and is one of the deadliest techniques in the game. You can also drag and release the attack button directly to throw in an arc rather than straight ahead, and oddly enough this deals no damage unless you hit another player or an object such as Gas Tanks or Crates.

This has a much longer range though, and can be used to escape enemies by tossing them out of your face, or even to save teammates by tossing them out of danger, or help them across obstacles such as walls. Just don’t mess with teammates by tossing them into a pile of enemy players, that’s just mean.

Aiming the throw button first rather than just tapping it allows your character to lunge into pickups or other players, but if you miss, you are rendered vulnerable for an uncomfortably long time as your character lands face-flat on the pavement.

Rubber Ducky < Brutal Wheel Club

funny fighters rubber ducky
funny fighters brutal wheel club
Either way, someone ends up flat on the road.

A slow, hard-hitting downward-swinging weapon, the Rubber Ducky and Brutal Wheel Club are hard to aim and use when compared to their cousin, the Inflatable Hammer, because of their smaller impact circle.

That being said, they do not require a charge-up to deal severe damage and can be a nerve-wracking threat to tiptoe around. The damage both weapons deal is horrific enough to one-shot squishier or lower-leveled characters, and can leave even high-level or tanky characters so badly crippled you can just nudge them gently afterward and they’d fall over like a soggy paper bag.

Inflatable Hammer

funny fighters inflatable hammer
The least stealthy assassination weapon in any game the writer has seen so far.

The Inflatable Hammer sees more use than either the Rubber Ducky or Brutal Wheel Club should both be available in the same match. This is because it is much easier to aim with its huge AOE when fully charged. The large AOE and extreme damage of a fully inflated Hammer make it a favorite for bush-camping guerrilla fighters and for opening big fights, assuming they can handle the fairly slow swing.

Much like the Rubber Ducky and Brutal Wheel Club, a fully inflated Hammer can deal enough damage to kill or severely cripple most players, but even a mid-charge can at least render an opponent Flattened, able to move like a piece of paper blown by the wind but rendered incapable of attacking.

Careful use of the Inflatable Hammer and avoiding over-reliance on fully charged swings is key to winning prolonged direct fights with it, assuming you missed your first big slam. As a side note, a fully inflated Hammer allows you to fly over water, but you move more slowly than walking.

Selfie Stick < Fishing Rod

funny fighters selfie stick
funny fighters fishing rod
One for the ‘Gram, another for the sea.

In the writer’s opinion, the Selfie Stick and Fishing Rod are the most boring but practical weapons in the game, blessed with decent damage, decent swing speed, good range, and a nice, wide swing.

That’s already really good, but both weapons can also receive upgrades that give either one the ability to inflict Stun with a small chance, rendering their target dazed and unable to fight for a second or so. If you want to be an absolute tryhard, always get one of these when available, or learn how to fight with bare fists.

Fork < Slipper

funny fighters fork
funny fighters slippers
Eek! A bug! Oh wait, that was just your face.

Another practical, basic fighting weapon, the Fork or Slipper are both short-range high DPS swinging weapons that can rapidly deplete an opponent’s HP. Its short range seems like a disadvantage, but there are many hard-hitting weapons in the game that have a safe spot in between their hitbox and the enemy using it, such as the Durian Chain, Rubber Ducky, Brutal Wheel Club, and the Luggage.

Learning of and taking advantage of those openings allows you to use the Fork or Slipper to demolish heavy weapon users at close range, and switching quickly to the Fork or Slipper while using heavy weapons yourself is typically a good way to defend against nimble attackers trying to get into YOUR personal space with their own Fork or Slipper. Just be careful of Selfie Sticks or Fishing Rods, and especially of highly skilled grab-happy fistfighters.

Luggage

funny fighters luggage
You wanna rob my stuff? Here you go.

One of the most difficult weapons in the game when bone-stock but made much better by a certain upgrade, the Luggage hits hard and has a long dash, but that long dash can be a liability: The attack only deals damage at the very end, via a slow swing.

This is one of the hardest weapons to aim in the game, but finding Mods that shorten its Blink Distance stat allows you to use it more like a slow, fat Selfie Stick. Suddenly it goes from one of the most finicky weapons in the game to a rather slow but unpredictable, incredibly wide-swinging, and highly damaging weapon for the victim getting hit.

Large Trout < Sawfish

funny fighters large trout
funny fighters sawfish
At least you get to eat one or the other if you don’t get the Chicken Dinner.

Take the stock long-range Luggage and trade raw damage for ease of use, and you get these two fish. the Large Trout and Sawfish offer a spinning dash attack, where your character flies forward while spinning their fish into people’s faces.

Good aim and sharp timing are rewarded by heavy damage at the tip thanks to multiple hits, but you generally still want to stay out of the way of the fish’s dash if it’s pointed at you. The damage of the dash might be low, but the enemy using it is a tough target to hit and can fritter you away if you don’t fight carefully.

And forget running, a Trout or Sawfish user can fish dance faster than you can run. You should usually wait for the fish swinger to swing first before attacking, as both fish have some downtime at the end of their spinning dash, rendering the user vulnerable.

Piranha Plant

funny fighters piranha plant
It’ll eat anything!

A powerful tool especially in Battle Royale and Arena modes, the Piranha Plant acts both as a melee weapon and a launcher for up to 4 interactables and pick-ups. The chomp deals decent damage but also allows you to pick up and store a maximum of 4 items such as weapons, exploding barrels, chairs, and other silly things, then spit them out as projectiles.

Barring reload pick-ups from Battle Royale mode, the Piranha Plant is essentially the only reloadable gun in the game, and capable of using a wide variety of often highly explosive ammo. Tapping the attack button chomps, and aiming the attack button fires collected objects.

Durian Flail

funny fighters durian flail
“Tastes great!” Your opponent says through missing teeth.

One of the most dangerous weapons to approach but with a certain weakness, the Durian Flail gives you a continuous spinning attack, slowing down your movement but greatly harming anyone who runs into the Durian. Like most weapons with good range, the Durian user is in danger should anyone manage to get within Fork range of them!

That being said, trying to get within Fork-range of a Durian user is incredibly dangerous, and the best way to deal with one is to throw stuff at them. The Durian is deadliest in the chaos of a team fight when the enemy is distracted by your buddies aggrieving them.

RANGED – Weapons you shoot people with.

Lego Cannon, Mortar

funny fighters lego cannon
funny fighters mortar
Watch your heads!

When you find a Mortar or Lego Cannon, you are the happiest bush-camper to exist in any match: Both weapons allow you to bombard a target with an arcing long-range artillery shot, aiming via a crosshair on the ground.

Oddly enough, these cannons are the best counters to themselves: If you wait patiently, especially in Arena matches, the enemy team usually has another one of these and will fire from a bush too. Once they do so, provide them some counter-battery fire!

Just make sure you stay aware of your own position lest someone move in too close and attack you from out of your vision area. You can use this to harass enemies from beyond visual range and from behind walls, set fire to bushes and generally be a giant threat in team fights while staying in relative safety. If you aim your 4 shots well that is.

Kar98K < Sniper Rifle

funny fighters kar98k
funny fighters sniper rifle
An old German classic, now in gold plate.

A hard weapon to use but a good tool for situational awareness in Battle Royale matches, the Kar98K and Sniper Rifle are long-range guns with high damage and use of a charge attack. This is to be expected in any game that involves a long rifle with a scope, but unlike a lot of top-down games with such weaponry, the scopes of these guns do NOT follow your aim.

Instead, the scope zooms out with your character centered rather than focusing on where you’re aiming, allowing you to gain 360-degree awareness over a much wider area. This can be useful in Battle Royale matches to scout an area out and evade foes before they can even see you. Don’t always try to charge this fully when the enemy gets in your face.

Bow

funny fighters bow
It worked in the Middle Ages, it’ll work today.

Much like the Sniper Rifle and Kar98k but trading the long-distance view for a much bigger ammo capacity, the Bow allows you to charge an attack much faster than either of the guns for similarly good damage. If the long-scoped guns are ambush weapons and scouting tools, the Bow is definitely for more direct and sustained shootouts.

Fireworks

funny fighters fireworks
It’s party time.

Another direct combat gun, Fireworks has a rather small ammo count of 6 shots total but explodes with an AOE, and can set oil spills and bushes alight. The fire rate is decent, and its AOE means it’s great against enemies standing next to obstacles, walls, or each other. Aim them carefully, especially around explosives and oil barrels: You want the enemy to get caught in the blast, not your own teammates!

Delivery Basket Bombs

funny fighters delivery driver bombs
Fire in the hole!

A weapon good for attacking from behind walls or from the backline of a direct team fight, the Delivery Basket Bombs have a fairly good ammo count and allow you to throw bombs over obstacles in an arc at a decently long range. Much like Fireworks, they can set barrels and bushes on fire, along with anyone standing in those bushes and oil.

Time Bomb Gun

funny fighters time bomb gun
Get it off me! GET IT OFF ME! AAAGH!

The Time Bomb Gun launches timed sticky bombs at enemies, and if you miss, they stick to the ground and continue counting down. You can use this two ways: Kill enemies directly by sticking the bombs directly on their faces, or scatter bombs around the enemy to make them tip toe over those timers.

If you’ve got bombs on you, run as far away from your teammates as possible so they don’t get caught in the blast, and if your character uses a basic Dodge Roll as their mobility skill, use it once the timer runs out so you dodge the explosion damage. If someone is shooting time bombs at you, you can hide behind objects to counter: If their bomb hits something like a crate or TNT barrel, it will stick, and you can throw their own bomb back at them!

Suona

funny fighters suona
Doot.

A powerful ranged weapon, the Suona can either be tooted quickly to conserve ammo or charged up to burn ammo for a powerful tornado toot. The tornado can lift enemies across a path, and the stronger the charge, the higher they go and the greater the damage they suffer. Good for opening fights and finishing them depending on how you use it.

Firebomb Gourd

funny fighters firebomb gourd
Spicy, hot, hot hot hot!

A favorite among players whenever it’s available, the Firebomb Gourd is no bomb, but a flamethrower. It has a very good ammo count, uses it efficiently, and can set oil and bushes alight along with other players.

Its DPS is alarming, the range isn’t as good as other ranged weapons but allows you to run quickly while firing, and is much easier to aim than most weapons. Definitely a practical choice when available. Just make sure you hold down the attack button, as tapping it wastes ammo.

Cat

funny fighters cat
Squish that cat.

A very rare find, the Cat is a powerful but basic ranged weapon. It fires a rather wide projectile with a small area of effect, which can set things on fire and deal a lot of damage and can be fired relatively rapidly. Highly effective, but not much to talk about. If you find a Cat, take care of it and aim well!

Pea Shooting Gun < Gatling Gun

funny fighters pea shooting gun
funny fighters gatling gun
A tasty meal in 7.62x51mm.

Essentially machineguns, the Pea Shooting Gun and especially the Gatling Gun force you to walk slowly while firing, but have a very high ammo count (40 for the Pea Shooting Gun in a game where 15 is considered the high end for most guns!) and an incredible fire rate.

The damage is pretty good, but the real threat of these weapons is their knockback: They can be highly disorienting when aimed well and the rapid-fire can keep melee fighters away from your soft, easily broken bones. The difference between the Gatling Gun and Pea Shooting Gun? The Gatling Gun has a much higher ammo count and a wider bullet hitbox.

Just be careful of people countering with a TNT barrel or other lobbing attacks, since you’re a slow target while hosing down the enemy. While they cannot set bushes alight on their own, these guns can detonate Gas Tanks immediately like most explosive or fire-based weapons.

Pipe

funny fighters pipe
Hose them down!

The Pipe is a great way to deny an area, especially in maps that have lots of bushes and other hiding spots. It allows you to deploy a pair of Fire Hydrant turrets that spew water bullets at people. They’re already annoying as they are, but what really makes them dangerous? Just like players, they turn stealthily in bushes and fog!

This makes them a huge threat on any map with lots of bushes, as people will likely run into them and get shot soggy rather than avoiding them on sight. After all, you can’t avoid something on sight if you can’t see it. As a nice side effect, it may make players avoid bushy areas entirely, making their movement more predictable on some of the smaller maps.

SUPPORT – Items that often have a utilitarian purpose, lethal or not.

Syringe

funny fighters syringe
Hold still, this won’t hurt… me!

The Syringe is a particularly difficult weapon to use. It is a lunging attack with a very narrow hitbox and leaves you vulnerable if you miss, much like a lunging grab. In the rare occurrence, you do hit your target though, it is devastating: It shrinks your target, allowing you to very quickly finish them off with other attacks!

Do not follow up a Syringe stab with another Syringe stab, instead switch to a different weapon to more easily catch the victim. Or look for a teammate: After stabbing an enemy, you draw their blood and can inject it into a teammate, making them bigger!

Plunger

funny fighters plunger
Get over here!

A fist-fighter’s best friend, the Plunger lets you grab enemies and objects at long range. While it leaves you vulnerable while the plunger is out, it does have a long-range and puts enemies within Fork, Slipper, or hand range. It also stuns your target once you’re done pulling them in. You can also use it to drag enemies to obstacles and hazards such as ticking Gas Tanks, burning Oil, and the rest of your team.

Bubble Gun

funny fighters bubble gun
What? Can’t punch your way out of a bubble? Sad.

A low-damage high-capacity gun, the Bubble Gun leaves trap bubbles that enemies (or you!) can walk into, leaving them immobile for a distinctly uncomfortable amount of time. The bubbles can be popped by any other attack, and are thus countered by long-range or rapid melee attacks like the Durian Flail or the Selfie Stick, though bare fists, the Fork and Slippers are at risk unless you move a bit carefully.

They can also be used to block ranged attacks and force enemy players to waste ammo (For direct fire guns anyway, arcing attacks can still go over them) or switch to melee weapons to clear the bubbles out.

Healing Kiss

funny fighters healing kiss
Like a mom kissing a booboo away.

A Medigun! The Healing Kiss automatically targets nearby friendly players to heal them. This tool has zero offensive capability whatsoever, so be careful when you have it out: Enemy players might notice and take you for an easy target, garnering unwanted and possibly Geneva-contravening attention. Of course, that’s what the second weapon slot or your bare fists are for!

Lucky Clover

funny fighters lucky clover
I’m out of here.

A non-offensive travel tool, the Lucky Clover allows you to fly over water and small objects and comes with a high-speed dash with a short cooldown. While you can swim on water and lava, both slow you down and lava in particular can set you alight for obvious reasons.

The Lucky Clover on the other hand moves at normal speed no matter where you fly. While the dash looks like it might be devastating on impact with an enemy, it does no damage and the Lucky Clover has zero offensive utility beyond rushing into the enemy and switching to an actual weapon. It is best used as an emergency escape tool.

Minelayer

funny fighters minelayer
Watch your step.

If these start popping out, then be very careful around bushes! Minelayers are exactly that: They allow you to lay landmines behind you. While the mines are visible in the open, they are hidden from view once placed in bushes, fog, or steam.

This can be deadly in Battle Royale as you can place them next to tall pots in the grass and blow up anyone trying to open them, or set up mines in some bushes and run away to them if you’re in danger, and hopefully lure your opponent into giving their feet a shrapnel massage.

Pogo Stick

funny fighters pogo stick
Dynamic entry!

A personal favorite of the writer, the Pogo Stick allows you to jump into an area with an AOE attack, dropping out of the sky like a bomb. While the damage is low, it allows you to open a fight aggressively, respond rapidly to friendly players under attack, escape from danger, and finish off injured enemies running away from you.

Landing directly on a target also flattens them, rendering them incapable of attacking back for a short while and forcing them to retreat. Just be careful not to jump into a fight too big for you, lest you get mobbed.

Glittering Egg

funny fighters glittering egg
Flash out, flash out!

The writer once thought this item useless, as it doesn’t look like much from the player’s screen. At least until someone else threw it at him! The Glittering Egg is essentially a flashbang grenade, blinding one’s screen should one be caught in the Egg’s blast zone.

You’ll know you blinded your target via a crying doge meme cartoon over the victim’s head. You can only carry one of these per slot, as these are the ultimate fight opener. That being said, they do no damage at all, so open up with your other weapon quickly while the enemy is disoriented.

Smoke Grenade

funny fighters smoke grenade
Smoke out, move in!

The Smoke Grenade is essentially a portable cover, dealing a little bit of damage and covering an area in smoke, ensuring that nobody, not even the thrower, knows what’s going on in the cloud. You can use this to cause chaos in a team fight and allow injured teammates to escape or force the enemy back to get their bearings in order.

Staying in the smoke cloud is inadvisable if there is anyone inside swinging a Durian Flail around, and staying outside but near the smoke cloud is hazardous should anyone with an Inflatable Hammer be inside.

Poop

funny fighters poop
No.

Disgusting. The Poop is a throwable item, with such a foul intolerable odor as to deal damage to anyone walking within its AOE circle. Outright killing anyone with this is quite hard, but it can soften up enemies and deny areas like chokepoints or simply force an enemy team to scatter and ruin their cohesion.

Unfortunately, the user is also subject to its obnoxious nasal assault, so walking into your own Poop is highly discouraged. Best paired with some form of ranged weapon to finish off anyone who enjoys the stench a tad too much for their own good.

Scary Box

funny fighters scary box
An unpleasant surprise for anyone it hits.

The Scary Box is one of the most dangerous support items in the game. It leaves a lingering aura of fear, paralyzing anyone who walks into it, including the player who used it and any teammates. Pairing this with a melee weapon is a bad idea since you’ll just get paralyzed trying to beat down any of its victims unless you stay at the edge with something like a Durian Flail or Inflatable Hammer, which both have a fairly long reach. Pair this with some form of gun instead. Anyone walking into the Scary Box is easy target practice.

Energy Shield

funny fighters energy shield
Get behind me!

A personally disliked tool for our writer due to its passiveness, the Energy Shield is a huge shield best used in a team fight. It can stun enemy players who strike it with melee attacks and it can block ranged weapons. It also has a massive HP pool compared to other protective items like the Wooden Shield and Crate.

While our writer does very poorly with it, he can attest to the shield’s effectiveness when it is used against him by canny players. That being said, sufficiently huge attacks like a fully inflated Hammer, a Duck, a Brutal Wheel Club, or a Lamp Post slam can break the shield and damage its user.

Ice Gun

funny fighters ice gun
Ice to meet you!… Yeesh, tough crowd.

Take the Firebomb Gourd and make it spew freezing mist and you get the Ice Gun. The Ice Gun deals relatively low damage but can freeze targets, rendering them vulnerable to teammates, or say, the Duck you have in your second pocket. It works much like a freezing flamethrower, easy to aim but with a relatively short range. Beware if you see this in the enemy’s hands, especially if that enemy has friends.

Segway

funny fighters segway
The slowest kamikaze attack in history. Oddly enough, more effective than the real thing was historically.

While this was meant to be a sort of mine-layer type weapon like a mix of the Minelayer and Time Bomb Gun, most people use the Segway as a high-power kamikaze bomb. The Segway allows you to drop time bombs with a cross-type explosion on the ground.

The odd thing is that the Segway lets you drop a lot of bombs in a very short amount of time, so you can run at a player, carpet bomb them and their friends, and watch the kill feed go up along with your character’s ragdoll if you get caught in your own blast chain. You and other players can pick up Segway bombs, but you wouldn’t want to for obvious reasons. Very good fun despite its dangers.

INTERACTABLE – Items scattered across the map, often single-use and throwable.

Push Scooter

funny fighters push scooter
Travel in style!

Unlike most other items, the Push Scooter has its own dedicated button to drive it rather than using the grab button. It is a very rare item that allows you to move very quickly, but you can’t fight while driving it.

Crate, Trash Can

funny fighters crate
funny fighters trash can
I am sneaky.

The Crate is a defensive item. Not only can you pick it up and throw it at people, but you can use it to hide much like Solid Snake in a cardboard box, and if anyone notices you anyway, it provides some measure of defense against enemy attacks. You can hide in the box and open your ambush by throwing the box at your target, switching to another weapon to finish them off.

Trash Cans are a non-upgradeable and much more easily spotted version of the Crate. Mostly because if you find a Crate anywhere, it’s less suspicious than finding a Trash Can improperly aligned against map features such as sidewalks and furniture.

Wooden Shield

funny fighters wooden shield
Really? This is all I got? Come on!

The Wooden Shield is exactly that: a wooden shield. Barely more than a board of wood, you can at least use it to block bullets from a single direction, then throw it at the enemy when needed. Like the Energy Shield, it can stun enemies who hit it with light melee attacks, and it can get a mod to let such counter-stuns deal damage.

Bucket, Oil Drum

funny fighters bucket
funny fighters oil drum
A splash of fun.

The Bucket and Oil Drum are liquid-filled containers. The Bucket is filled with water and can douse fire, and the Oil Drum is filled with oil and can be set alight, and both of them spill over a wide area when thrown. These also do a surprising amount of damage on a direct hit when tossed, and also have a noticeable AOE with the damage itself.

TNT

funny fighters tnt
Hey you, catch!

A barrel loaded with explosives, TNT explodes on impact when thrown or hit by attacks. While they’re very useful, be wary if you pick it up and have it out: While it’s out, any attacks hitting you will detonate the TNT in your hands! As such, keep it in your second pocket until you are ready to strike.

It can light oil and bushes. Picking up an oil barrel and then following up with TNT is a good combo for area denial, and throwing a Gas Tank first followed by TNT is a near-guaranteed kill if it connects. TNT is also one of the deadlier things you can pick up with the Piranha Plant, essentially turning it into a grenade launcher if you find 4 of them.

Gas Tank

funny fighters gas tank
Oh dear, I think I left the gas on at home.

Slower but far more powerful than TNT, the Gas Tank cooks off when hit or tossed, exploding after a set time. The explosion is far bigger than that of TNT, dealing usually lethal damage over a huge area and setting any oil and bushes near it alight.

Just like the TNT, carrying this in the open is highly dangerous. Either pocket it when not in use or toss it immediately if under attack. And if your opponent is carrying TNT, Gatling Guns, Pea Shooting Guns, or any form of explosion-happy weapon, never ever stand next to a Gas Tank.

UNLISTED WEAPONS – Weaponry that are neither listed nor moddable, but can be picked up in certain maps.

Lamp Posts and Utility Poles

funny fighters lamp post
Light ’em up!

Not listed on the Weapon list for upgradeable weapons, Lamp Posts and Utility Poles appear in certain maps, and can be used as heavy weapons when knocked down. They are very similar to the Rubber Ducky, except they alternate between a familiar downward slam, and a slow, wide swing. Lamp Posts and Utility Poles also tend to be much bigger than Rubber Duckies or Brutal Wheel Clubs, which give them better AOE but also leave them with a much bigger vulnerable spot between you and the impact zone when doing a downward slam.

Lamp Posts are also electrical, and thus stun enemies they hit for a couple of seconds. Not long enough for you to get a second hit in, but long enough to be utterly disastrous for the victim when it happens in a team fight and your teammates happen to be within teamwork range. They’re also harder to aim since they use the generic aiming indicator as opposed to the one Rubber Duckies use.

Functionally, Lamp Posts and Utility Poles are fully identical, unlike other weapons with similar mechanics but differing stats. They can be found in both Classic Mode maps, appearing everywhere in Futuristic City and with one near the south spawn in Old Street.

Flash Gun

funny fighters flash gun
The crying Shiba Inu is how you know it worked.

Essentially a spotlight ripped from its mounting, the Flash Gun can blind enemies in a wide cone with a single flash. This would be amazing… if it didn’t have a 30-second cooldown! That being said, it makes a great fight opener and distraction like a reusable Glittering Egg, especially if paired with a good melee weapon or fist work. You’ll know it worked if your opponent has a crying doge meme cartoon on their head. It can be found in the northeast part of the Futuristic City Classic Mode map, in the Arcade rotation.

Random Objects

funny fighters chair
If you can pick it up, you can throw it.

Sometimes, you may pick up chairs, trash cans, and other such things that are not listed as upgradeable weapons, such as hostile players. This is where the food growth mechanic comes in, as the bigger your character grows from food collection, the bigger the objects they can pick up, up to and including things like exploding cars, vending machines, ATMs, and other such large objects.
