Although Candywriter released DogLife late last year and put out a similar sequel, CatLife, just a few weeks ago, the company’s original life simulator game, BitLife, keeps driving player engagement even if it’s three years old and hasn’t received any major updates in quite some time.
But it’s not like we’re complaining about that last thing, because the weekly BitLife challenges are just what’s been driving that engagement, as players typically have a few days, starting on Saturday afternoon, to complete a series of tasks, or requirements, based on a certain theme.
This week’s challenge is sort of a throwback to the classic BitLife challenges that kept things simple and didn’t draw inspiration from any popular movies, TV shows, celebrities, memes, or trends. Your main goal in the Brains and Beauty Challenge is to create a character who is perfect in both areas (Smarts and Looks, respectively) and uses those attributes to the fullest extent.
It’s a rather easy challenge to complete, but if you’re having difficulty with it in any way, we recommend checking out this BitLife mini-strategy guide. Here, we shall show you how to complete the Brains and Beauty Challenge with as little rework possible, and no need to dip into the Time Machine or create a new character in the event a requirement becomes impossible to complete.
Getting Started – Keep Trying Until You Get A High Smarts / Looks Character
Obviously, the main thing you need to make sure of when creating a new character for the Brains and Beauty Challenge is that your character is female. After that, however, you may need to be a little patient if you don’t have God Mode. God Mode users, of course, have it easy — you can simply set Looks and Smarts to 100 and take it from there. But if you don’t, you may need to re-roll your character until you get one that has Looks and Smarts of at least 80, the higher, the better.
When trying to get your Looks and Smarts up, you can use the same old methods to increase both stats. For Looks, you can go to the gym once per year once you turn 12 — take note that going to the gym is free until you turn 18, though. Once you reach 18, you can go to the Salon & Spa section under Activities, and choose any of the options, as all of these can slightly boost your Looks.
As for Smarts, reading books always helps, at least a little, and so could joining clubs at school. Some clubs may have special statistical requirements, but other than that, most clubs are free to join regardless of your stats, just as long as you have above average grades or better.
Speaking of grades, it is imperative that you keep them as high as possible, preferably perfect, by choosing the Study Harder option every now and then and avoiding any situations that could get you in trouble, such as playing hooky or fighting back against bullies.
You’ll need those grades to get into college and medical school on a scholarship, and by now, you should be aware that your parents usually won’t be willing to pay for your college and medical school tuition.
You Don’t Need To Work For Long As A Model To Complete The Requirement
The first actual requirement in the Brains and Beauty Challenge is to become a model, and that’s where your good Looks will come in. And since you don’t need a college degree for this job, we would recommend applying the moment you are done with high school.
The job you will want to apply for, however, is Foot Model — this is the entry-level position in the Model career track in BitLife, and since you will also need to become a Brain Surgeon later in life, there’s no need to stay long at this job.
In fact, you can resign after a year and start your college education, and the green check mark for the requirement will not disappear. There are a couple check marks that may disappear after they’ve initially appeared, though we shall get to that later.
Another important thing to keep in mind when applying for Model jobs is that Nude Art Model does NOT count toward the requirements! This is a completely different career track, and if you come to think of it, this is not the modeling job most people think of when the word is mentioned. You’ll need to apply for the traditional entry-level modeling job, though once again, there’s no need to actually become famous here.
You’ll Need Six Years Of Med School To Become A Brain Surgeon
After that one year of foot modeling, you can quit the job and return to school, but what college course should you take? The answer would be any course that could lead to medical school later on, so that would usually mean Biology. Assuming you kept your grades high and didn’t get into trouble, you should have no trouble getting a scholarship, and once you’re back in college, we would suggest joining a sorority to improve your chances of skipping the interview stage when the time comes for you to apply for a Brain Surgeon job.
Keep using the Study Harder option to get your grades up as high as possible, because you’ll need a scholarship more than ever when it comes to medical school!
Medical School, unlike all the other post-graduate education options, is actually longer than college — you’ll need to study for six more years, which means you’ll likely be able to complete the challenge in your early 30s at the youngest. But that’s the only way you can get a Brain Surgeon job in BitLife — it’s one of the highest-paying non-celebrity jobs in the game, so it really will take some patience before you get your medical school degree!
The Other Requirements – Reading Frankenstein, Having Perfect Looks / Smarts
We’re going to discuss the last three requirements of the Brains and Beauty Challenge in one tip because they’re much quicker to complete than the other two. First off, you will only see Frankenstein among the options in the Book section of Mind and Body once you’re at least 18 years old.
The book is also 335 pages long, which means you’ll need to do a lot of tapping in order to complete reading it and check off another requirement. However, 335 pages isn’t that much if you consider some of the other books that usually pop up for adult Bitizens in the Book section.
As we mentioned earlier, the check marks can disappear from the Have 100% Smarts and Have 100% Looks requirements after you’ve initially completed them — this is all on account of BitLife randomly reducing both stats by a few points (or increasing them) after you hit the Age button.
This means you’ll need to save these two requirements for last and use the same methods we explained earlier get both stats up to 100 percent. If all else fails when trying to improve your Looks to 100 percent, you can opt for some plastic surgery — just make sure to quit and restart if the doctor botches the operation!
Get your Looks and Smarts up to 100 percent and that should do it. You’ve completed the Brains and Beauty Challenge, and are free to pick a prize chest to get a new accessory for your characters — both your own Bitizens and NPCs alike.
