Zynga, one of the longest running social gaming companies around, has just released a new match-3 puzzle game for iOS and Android devices. Wonka’s World of Candy combines the delectable candies of King’s Candy Crush with the home decoration antics of Playrix’s Gardenscapes. The cherry on top, of course, is the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory license that comes along with it.
Wonka’s World of Candy is a match-three puzzle game where players need to overcome dozens of puzzles in order to restore the Chocolate Factory. Completing puzzles will allow players to access and decorate the different areas. Players will be able to unlock familiar rooms as seen on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, including the iconic Chocolate Room. New rooms like the Candy Corn Acres and Wallpaper Orchard can also be unlocked.
Bernard Kim, Zynga’s President of Publishing, expressed his excitement in seeing how the game evokes nostalgia in old fans while attracting a new generation of Chocolate Factory lovers. He said that the combination of the two popular genres creates an engaging and unique experience for players of all ages.
Match-3 veterans need not fret because the game also offers a ton of innovative features that would help keep things fresh. Game modes like the Golden Ticket Rush lets players collect Wonka Bars and search for Golden Tickets, allowing them to play in special levels. These hidden levels will reward players with premium decorations for the different areas of the Chocolate Factory.
Fans of the film will also be glad to see their favorite characters in the game, including Veruca Salt, Mike Teevee, the Oompa Loompas, and of course, Charlie himself. There are also some new characters that can be unlocked by collecting milk from Wonka’s Neapolitan chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla cows.
Wonka’s World of Candy can be downloaded for free from the App Store and the Google Play Store. It is also available on the Amazon app store for Kindle users.
