Warp Shift Tips, Cheats & Guide: 7 Hints to Complete More Three-Star Levels

Warp Shift is a new puzzle game from Deep Silver Fishlabs, which is out now on Android and iOS platforms. So what’s in it for you in this game? This is a title that will take you on a marvelous journey that challenges your mind and stimulates your senses, with gorgeous graphics, an engaging soundtrack, and most of all, tricky puzzles. Your job is to guide the girl and her companion through a maze-like chamber where they’re trapped inside. And you’ll be doing this through a series of puzzles – can you solve all of them and guide Pi and her companion back home?

If you’re a fan of in-depth puzzle games for mobile devices, Warp Shift will definitely appeal to you. But once again, you may be wondering about solving all those puzzles – what’s there to do for you to achieve the ultimate goal and complete all of those mazes en route to the characters’ freedom? Read on, as our Warp Shift strategy guide will talk you through all the necessary things you need to do to at least solve more of those puzzles with little to no difficulty, and with a perfect three stars.

1. You Only Have So Many Moves

Keep a close eye on the number of moves, which can be found on the upper left corner of your screen. That counter will be your best friend as you complete puzzle after puzzle and help the girl make it to the portal. If you move her in any direction by one box, that’s going to count as a move. Likewise, moving one of the boxes to any direction will also count as a move. And, to make things more challenging, Deep Silver Fishlabs designed the game in such a way that you cannot undo moves you end up regretting once you’ve executed them. That means you have to be really, really sure about your next move – once you’ve performed an action (any action), there’s no turning back!

2. What Happens When You Get Three Stars?

Unfortunately, there’s really no reward or bonus to receive for completing a level with three stars. All you’ll get in the end is bragging rights – you can always tell your friends who play the game that you were the first to three-star a level, or you may also hear from them about how you’re the only one who hasn’t three-starred a level yet. It’s not really the best part of the game while it’s still new, but for what it’s worth, you can complete a level with one star and it won’t have any bearing on you.

3. There Is No Time Limit

While you’ll have to deal with the fact that you only have a limited number of moves (understandable) and the fact that you can’t undo your mistakes, the good thing about this game’s basic mechanics is that you don’t have to worry about running out of time. There’s no need to blend precision with speed, as all that matters is making the right move. If you want to manually figure things out and find out what to do and what not to do, you can take the trial-and-error approach, but if you’re playing for level completion or playing for three stars, you have all the time in the world to think about your next move. It helps to imagine the move playing out in your mind before executing it, and to use your three hints if you’re really in a bind.

4. Remember The Starting Point And The Portal Entry

Regardless of which level you’re playing, you want to remember the access points on the starting box – in the earlier, easier levels, there will only be a few access points to remember, though this will progressively increase as you complete more and more puzzles. Also remember each portal’s entry points. Shift those two boxes in question in the right way before you move on to the other boxes in the middle of the level.

5. Look For Colored Gates And Other Ways To Open The Portal

In order for the girl to make it through and make it to the portal, you may sometimes have to match the entrance colors. You’ll also want to prepare for the smart cube at the later stages of the game, as she’ll need to be there before she goes to the portal. In fact, you should be always looking out for alternate ways to open the portal; there may be items that look like obstacles, but may actually be necessary in order for the girl to get to the portal. And to reinforce a point we made earlier, make sure you’re matching colored entrances before doing anything else, if that’s what you have to do.

6. Watch Out For The Boxes On The Edges

The boxes found on the edges of the level act in a rather unusual way. If you move them, they’ll always go to the end of the opposite direction to the one you were moving to. This will also require you to take note of things mentally, and imagine where the access points may be moving to next. As most players usually focus on the middle boxes, this could be hard to pull off, but with a little practice, you’ll know how to deal with those tricky boxes.

7. Keep On Practicing

Last, but not the least, you’ll want to practice regularly and not be afraid to make mistakes. When it comes to puzzle games, they’re usually a breeze before the difficulty ramps up progressively. But you don’t need to give up just because a puzzle seems impossibly hard to complete. Keep on practicing regularly, and take note of where you may have made mistakes. This is especially true with the harder levels that have more boxes and entry points, so don’t get discouraged if things aren’t going swimmingly for you in your first tries at a level!
