Square Enix first announced a remaster of their Romancing SaGa 3 title in April 2017. The game was originally released on the Super Famicom in 1995. There were very little updates throughout 2018 regarding the remaster, but now Square Enix has finally confirmed that the remastered version of Romancing SaGa 3 is coming out on November 11.
Romancing SaGa 3 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, Steam, Android, and iOS platforms. The November launch, unfortunately, will just be for Japan. While the developers have promised a western release in the future, no details were given as to when that would happen.
Romancing SaGa 3 follows the story of eight different main characters. Players get to choose one of the eight at the beginning of the game. Their starting locations and journey will vary depending on the character they select. Additional characters may be recruited as they progress through the story.
Unlike most other RPGs of its time, the original Romancing SaGa 3 does not utilize a level up system to strengthen its characters. Instead, characters were given individual stat upgrades depending on their participation in battle.
