Some people just want to see the world get crushed. If you are one of those people, Rock of Destruction may be the game for you. Available for Android and iOS devices, Voodoo’s new endless game is just about crushing everything in your path with a rolling boulder. The further you progress, the bigger you become. Of course, size is equivalent to destructive power. Demolish homes, villages, towns, and cities as you keep on rolling. Roll through the ages as your environment changes from medieval to futuristic. The goal remains the same, however. Keep destroying everything as you earn more money and power. You start off destroying quaint little homes, but soon you will be facing skyscrapers and castles. It would take more than mindlessly rolling to take down advanced civilizations. Check out our compilation of Rock of Destruction cheats, tips and tricks in order to get a super high score!
1. Check The Colors
As you roll through the villages, you will probably notice that some buildings and objects are light colored, while others are dark. Light-colored buildings are the ones that you can destroy. The dark ones are those that you are not powerful enough to destroy just yet. Knowing which ones you can destroy makes it easier to pick targets. The more upgrades you purchase, the stronger you will become. You will notice that more light objects as you grow stronger.
2. Maneuver Around Obstacles
Since some of the objects like gates cannot be destroyed just yet, you need to find a way around them. What you could do instead is go over them. To do that, you need to move to the far side of the level, then look for a sharp ramp, like a hill. Once you roll off the hill, you will be able to launch yourself high enough to fly over the obstacles that you can’t destroy. Make sure you keep your momentum going in order to sustain the height you need to go over. It takes a bit of practice to get this done correctly, so don’t be discouraged if you end up crashing the first few times you try it.
3. Target Newly Unlocked Objects
As we mentioned above, the dark-colored objects will turn light when you buy enough upgrades. Make sure you target those newly unlocked objects since they will be worth the most. The easier the object is to destroy, the less it will be worth. Targeting high-cost objects will make it easier for you to earn more money. Remember, you need a lot of money to keep purchasing more upgrades. That is why it is important for you to be strategic in the things you destroy.
4. Don’t Forget Your Offline Income
No endless game is complete without a way to earn while offline. The offline income in Rock of Destruction can also be upgraded. Make sure you invest well in this upgrade, so you can continue earning even when you are asleep. Try to funnel all your money into offline income upgrades before you log off for the day. This way, you will have a pile of money waiting for you when you return in the morning. All your earnings overnight can then be used for upgrading your power.
You are probably wondering, then, which upgrade you should focus on. Should you buy more offline income upgrades? Or do you need more power? That really depends on the type of player you are. If you will be spending most of your time in the game, then by all means, buy those power upgrades. You still earn more by actively playing, so you will be able to make the most of power upgrades. However, if you are a casual player, who only plays the game during breaks, or when you have free time, then you may want to invest in offline income. If you spend a lot of time away from the game, there isn’t a lot of point in spending all your money in power upgrades.
5. Use The Dark Objects Carefully
Narrowly hitting dark objects will slow you down. This can be useful when you need to regain control of the boulder. It also helps you buy more time for making decisions. Just be very careful when you choose to do this. If you accidentally hit the dark objects head on, you will break into pieces, ending your run. Just hit the objects enough to slow yourself down. If you don’t feel confident in your ability to do this, it is better to just steer clear altogether.
6. Look For Purple Gems
As you roll around town, you will sometimes see purple trails in the sky. These mark the location of purple gems. Try to pick up as many of these gems as you can. Each one is worth 2.00k so it will help you a lot in purchasing more upgrades. Just be careful when rushing towards these gems because they tend to spawn right beside obstacles. If you are not paying attention, and you don’t have enough power, you would end up breaking yourself.
7. Quick Swipes Are Better
Controlling a large boulder is not as easy as you think. You will need to swipe in the direction you want to go, but that is not all there is to it. The length of time you have your finger held on the screen will determine the speed of your boulder. The longer you hold, the faster you will go. The problem with this is that it is easy to build up too much momentum. One moment you feel like you are going too slow, then the next thing you know you are barreling towards an obstacle. It takes a lot of patience, but it is a lot safer to use quick swipes. This way, you can gradually increase your speed and change directions. It is also a good way to pick up those purple gems that are sitting a little too close to obstacles.
