The world is at war, and it is up to the sacrifice of a few brave men to restore peace. Foursaken Media’s new mobile title Noblemen: 1896 is both a real-time strategy and a first-person shooter game. It is set in an alternative era of the American Civil War and World War I. Your job is to lead one of the factions in the war. The game starts out as a strategy game where you will need to train your soldiers, place them strategically on the map in order to acquire more resources and conquer territory. Things will suddenly change when you clash with another army. Aside from managing your troops, you will have the ability to control one of your units on the ground and fight in real time. You will have to duck, run, and shoot on your own in order to turn the tide of battle in your favor. It may seem overwhelming at first but with the help of our Noblemen: 1896 tips and tricks, you will surely emerge victorious!
1. Never Shoot Without Cover
When you are on the ground, you will find several parts of the terrain that you can use as cover. Your priority should be to get behind one of those things before you start shooting at your enemies. Remember, you are in the middle of a war. You will not know how many enemies are out there so if you don’t prioritize your cover, you will end up dead before you can shoot anybody. Sprint in between covers to minimize your exposure. Don’t forget to check the arrow above your opponent’s head as this is the indicator of your effective range. If you shoot outside the effective range, you will deal less damage. Pick a hiding spot that is just within the effective range to maximize your damage output.
2. Use Terrain Strategically
As mentioned above, terrain can help provide cover. Trees are especially useful in this situation. Aside from that, there are also several benefits that you can take advantage of depending on the terrain. Starting a fight on a forest tile will give you a bonus in defense. Attacking at night will, on the other hand, will give you an offensive bonus. Make sure you maintain the morale of your troops by keeping their supplies up. Demoralized troops will shoot less and are more likely to lose in battle.
3. Let Your Army Protect Your Noblemen
The Commander mode is not just useful for auto-battle, you can also use it to help you in shooter mode. One good trick is to zoom out into Commander mode before moving so you can gauge how far away the enemy troops are from your location. The best trick in this mode, however, is to use the Protect command so that your entire army will defend you while you are in first-person shooter mode. It pays to have a lot of eyes on your back, especially when you are surrounded by enemies.
4. Hold Down Strategic Points
A good strategy to win the war is to capture and hold strategic points in the map. Secure as many key points as possible and defend them. When you are able to hold onto a specific tile for a long time, you will be able to get higher defensive bonuses. Couple that with a well-supplied army and you will be immovable. Use this tactic when charging up for the Earthshaker and your enemies won’t have a choice but to cower in fear.
5. Avoid Melee Combat
The last thing you want in this game is to duke it out with your enemies in close quarters. This will give them a chance to overpower you. On top of that, you will be so busy with the opponent in front of you that you won’t see any long-ranged enemies coming your way. The best thing to do when you have a squad rushing towards you is to keep backpedaling while firing shots at them. If you do it correctly, they will eventually take too much damage and will stop pursuing you.
Managing an army and surviving first-person combat are challenging enough on their own that it may seem impossible to do both at the same time. I have religiously played noblemen for 2 yrs now,one of the best seeds for tactical gameplay in (auto) is that you can encircle a ring protected security for your commanders by linking protect between 2 or more infantry, gouls,shielded infantry etc
