Thousands of evil monsters everywhere and you are alone in the midst of fear and hunger! Are you the Warrior who will finally survive through the daunting dungeons and emerge victorious into eternal light? If you think you have what it takes to combat hordes of evil monsters and a surrounding environment full of surprises, then go ahead and challenge yourself in the all new action RPG game called Monsters With Attitude. This game is a world exploration and Royal Rumble Brawl type title from the developers Flaregames GmBH and provides players with a taste of both endless survival and role playing adventure games. Monsters With Attitude is available to download and play for free on iOS devices from the Apple iTunes App Store as well as on Android devices from the Google Play Store.
The game comes packaged in a reasonable size of 99 MB. The graphics are basic and are quite arcade looking but that actually helps to keep your focus on defeating the evil monsters rather than getting distracted by the environment. The game also contains adaptive music which changes rhythm when creatures appear and this effect will definitely make you skip a heartbeat during the later levels when suspense is high and monsters everywhere. The game receives regular love from the developers and they pay close attention to the suggestions and criticism from players striving to always maintain and increase the standard of this game.
The gameplay style of Monsters With Attitude calls for the player to explore the entire world in order to get maximum benefit from the adventure but this is not an easy task given the unfamiliar ambience and the plethora of evil creatures at every turn. Monsters With Attitude sets itself apart from other Survival games by not having any re-spawn checkpoint. If you die in the game, you die, Period! You will have to explore all over again and this time the world might hold different mysteries and dangers in store for you. This ever changing scenario introduces an element of surprise into the otherwise redundant gameplay of similar style world exploration games and you will find yourself hooked to the screen of your smartphone for hours on end.
Monsters With Attitude offers a new take on the already redundant arcade action gameplay by enabling interaction with your environment. In fact one of the main attractions of this game is the ability of the monsters controlled by you to destroy and smash things all around you. This may not seem like something worth mentioning but when you are in one of the fights on advanced stages and are completely stressed out, smashing stuff around you is very therapeutic and especially when that stuff is large buildings and all kinds of architectural marvels!
Flaregames’ new mobile title offers a challenge for every kind of player. The starting quests of the game are quite easy as they are meant to familiarize the player with the gameplay mechanics. However when you progress to the advanced quests, you will immediately notice the sharp spike in difficulty level that comes with it.
Needless to say this level continues to rise exponentially and the quests that follow will become impossibly hard so much so that you may not be able to reach the next quest even if given a whole hour. This insane rise in difficulty is part of the progressive action arcade gameplay style so instead of complaining about this fact you can improve your skill level to beat whatever obstacles the game chooses to throw at you. This guide will help you do just that and who knows if you are a fast learner and a true Warrior at heart, you might be able to emerge victorious from the many hordes of monsters from all over the World!
1. Keeping Your Monsters Alive
The Health Points bar is displayed in green color in the top left corner of the game screen. A great addition to Monsters With Attitude during the recent updates is the increase in your maximum health as you level up by defeating different enemies that you encounter across the world brawl. This means that the longer you are able to survive during a brawl and kill more enemies, the stronger you will be to face the more advanced floors of the brawling world. It is quite easy to get fooled into believing that you have a lot of health points after you take down an enemy. What most players tend to miss is the passive regeneration of 1 HP per each 10 steps that you walk in a certain direction in the brawling world.
Thus during the earlier times, it will appear that you took very little damage during your fight with a monster. Do not let this passive regeneration mislead you into making hasty decisions during the later levels. As a general rule, you should start to take your HP bar very seriously after the third monster brawl in the game. This is because, monsters present on brawling events after this will usually have the power to finish you in one or two blows if you are careless enough to give them the opportunity to attack you.
Just like your Health Points bar, your energy bar shows the current energy level that your monster has. Located below the yellow HP bar in the top left corner of the screen of your smartphone, the light green colored energy bar has some different properties in the game. You start off with the most basic attack moves which consume very little of your energy. Therefore, the first few times that you play, you will almost be able to ignore the Energy level bar unless you start using combo moves in conjunction with dashing around for defeating the common monsters that you encounter on the low level brawls.
That being said, a powerful melee attack combo takes a large chunk out of your Energy bar and this can definitely pose a dilemma for you. Remember to always save the powerful melee attack combos for the most difficult creatures. However, unlike the Health bar, the Energy level bar does not remain static and is also an indicator of the weariness that your monster will inevitably experience once you have fought many monsters during the brawls. There are various Energy restore potions scattered on every brawl world and sometimes finding them can be a real challenge but they are well worth the effort because dying from loss of energy is one of the most common sources of failure in Monsters With Attitude.
In addition to being careful with your monster in the game, you can also replenish the energy level of your character by drinking potions that are green in color. Once drunk these potions instantly refill the Energy level bar so it is highly recommended to save these potions for use before a particularly difficult monster or a boss fight brawl. Once you have understood the importance of the energy level bar you will definitely take care to keep track of it while exploring the brawling world for challengers. Just remember to obtain as many victories as you can and you should be well equipped to deal with the horrors that await you should you succeed in surviving.
2. Choosing Your Monsters
Life and Energy were the two basic and most obvious factors controlling the survival of your character in Monsters With Attitude. Now we move on to the more technical details which will help you make decisions as you manage to proceed further into the deep dark recesses of the monster brawling world. A key reflex that you need to focus on developing is the use of your skills. Instead of trying out a new monster every other day, choose a single monster that you like or you think you can play well after summoning him into battle.
Give two to three hours of practice to fully understand what each skill of that monster does. Some new players get exasperated when a fight starts and begin to spam all of their skills. This is the main cause of those fights with the enemy that end pretty badly for you. Each of your monster skill has a defined Area of Effect and using it beyond that area will net you no damage on the enemy monsters. Also, each skill has its separate energy cost which varies wildly and spamming all skills at once will only leave you drained of all your energy.
The second characteristic that you do not have any control over initially but can improve as you progress throughout the game, is the “defense” and “armor” of your character. Monsters With Attitude is a RPG style game where the decisions that you make during the course of the game can alter your progression through the brawling world. Needless to say, a higher defense will mean you can take much more damage before your Health bar reaches to an alarming level.
You will not be able to have a high defense as you start off however and this characteristic can only be upgraded either by leveling up during your exploration of the brawling world or by using the gold coins that you obtain during your adventure. Depending upon your play style, if you prefer to use melee attacks more, putting a few points into defense would prove very beneficial.
3. Annihilate Enemy Monsters With Combos
Monsters With Attitude is one of the few adventure exploration games on the market which feature awesome fighting combos in the game. The developers of Monsters With Attitude have made the game much more interesting by introducing the concept of SP (Special moves) in the game. After you initiate a fixed number of melee attacks, your SP bar starts to fill up. This is shown in the top left corner of the screen of your smartphone and is indicated in blue color. This bar is also upgradeable as you progress further into the game and you will be able to use the gold coins that you find on the brawling worlds to increase the maximum SP capacity that you can have. Be mindful that initiating an SP powered attack can quickly deplete your SP bar at the earlier levels and you should try and use the SP attacks only for those monsters which are very hard to defeat using normal melee attacks. Try to never use the SP attack right at the start of a battle rather keeping it for the finishing move so that you do not have to worry about the bar refilling again.
Similarly, as you complete more and more consecutive adventures, your collection of gold coins will continue to increase until you have reached a handsome amount that can be used to purchase an upgrade for the SP attack bar capacity. It is advised to spend the gold coins as soon as you have enough for the upgrade. However, spending Gold Coins just for the sole purpose of speeding up this process is definitely not recommended due to their rarity. You can only obtain Gold Coins in the game by completing certain objectives and defeating difficult monsters in the brawling world. These coins will serve as your main currency to purchase new weapons and upgrades for your character which will play a much more important role as you move on to playing new Monsters.
You should resist the temptation offered to you by the game and let time run its course because a true warrior is also marked by the patience that he has in the face of adversity. The game also offers an alternative path to victory and success which is by smashing your way to the top of the scoreboard. If you are a destructive player by nature you can put this to use by smashing as much of the buildings and structures during a monster brawl. This might seem like a stupid idea but is very useful as smashing grants you a ton of gold coins which you can later put to use for upgrades and unlocking new monsters!
