Legend Of AbhiManYu Promises War Games Of Epic Proportions

The Mahābhārata tells the story of an ancient war, in which rival dynasties battle against each other in a bloody struggle. At 200,000 lines, it is the longest epic poem ever written, making Beowulf look like light reading. Now developer ACY Entertainment has squeezed this story of epic proportions into a mobile-sized action game called the Legend of AbhiManYu (LoA).

LoA focuses on the story of AbhiManYu – a warrior prince summoned by the Gods themselves. You take charge of the arrow-loosing, sword-wielding prince as he tackles different classes of warrior, including archers, sword generals, and spear soldiers, as well as increasingly challenging army formations. You even have your own two-horse chariot (Beowulf only had the one.).

Gameplay consists of a single player mode, with high quality 3D graphics, and over 1,000 independent characters in any given scene, lending a console-feel seldom seen on the platform. Coupled with a suitably dramatic soundtrack and a host of cinematic cut-scenes, it won’t be too hard to find yourself slipping into the role of the eponymous hero.

During the game you’ll encounter periodic boss battles – demigods with supernatural powers regularly rear their ugly heads for you to lop off. But progressing isn’t just a case of furiously tapping and swiping – each army formation requires some strategic thinking to overcome. What works against the Trident formation won’t necessarily work against the Octopus formation, for example.

Although currently only available on iOS, Android users won’t have to wait long to play the game with a planned release on Google Play coming up soon.

If throwing yourself into a legendary battle across the plains of ancient India sounds like your idea of a good time, Legend of AbhiManYu is available now for $4.99 from the App Store.
