Kingdoms of Heckfire is an interesting kingdom building game from A Thinking Ape, that’s now available for Android and iOS devices. Unlike most titles in the same genre, this game goes out of its way to keep the story light-hearted. Kingdoms of Heckfire begins with the kingdom nearly in ruins. Luckily, an old man named Cedric has a dragon egg you can hatch. He asks you to rebuild the Dragon Spire in order to summon a dragon. Once you do, you will be able to make the dragon fight off attackers. You will meet an entire cast of oddball characters as you progress. Of course, that does not mean you should take things lightly. Despite priding itself in being a beginner-friendly game, it offers quite an in-depth combat and base-building system that will surely have hardcore players hooked from day one. 1. Pay Attention To The Tutorial
It is often tempting to skip the tutorial and jump right into the game. Some players learn quicker this way, but it is a gamble since you may accidentally mess up your own base. Try to take time to listen the tutorial. It will teach you the basics that you need to understand when it comes to managing your kingdom well. If you don’t listen to the tutorial, you could end up missing out on features that will help you progress in the game.
2. Check The Feats
Once the tutorial is over, you might still feel a little lost. When this happens, you could check out the feat’s bar at the top of the screen. This will show you several pointers on how to proceed in the game. Most players stop relying on this after a while, but it offers valuable information for those who are still learning how to play the game well. If you ever find yourself stuck in a sticky situation, you could try into the feats to see what else you can do.
3. Upgrade The Town Hall Last
While it is the most important building in your kingdom, rushing the level of your Town Hall can get you matched with stronger opponents before you are ready to face them. Make sure you hold off on upgrading your Town Hall until all the other structures are the same level. Doing so will ensure you are as strong as you could possibly be before advancing your kingdom to the next level. 4. Find An Active Clan
Clans will help you progress in Kingdoms of Heckfire and will give you an added level of protection from attackers. Once you are part of a clan, make sure you build the Clan Tavern right away. You will also gain various resources just from being a member of an active clan. Clan Chests and Hires are useful in amassing a large amount of resources over time. Don’t be afraid to switch to a different clan if your current one is active. Remember, a clan is only strong if it has active members.
5. Raid The Realm Monsters
Another benefit of being part of a clan is raiding Realm Monsters. Players who complete successful raids will be rewarded with Gold and other resources. On top of that, Clan Members will also receive Monster Slayer Chests. These chests contain key that can be used to open the main Clan Chests. This is one of the best reasons for finding an active clan. Keep in mind that you can always send your troops into the Realm map to have them gather Gold, food, or ore. Just make sure you recall them if there is a threat.
6. Take Advantage Of The Hiring System
The game allows you to hire another player to help you on your adventures. You can also be hired in order to gain additional resources. Players who are hired earn Gold, while those who hire them will get bonus boosts in combat ability. One trick you can take advantage of is to simply invest in hiring someone. When another player hires the person you already hired, you will be compensated for an amount that is higher than the original price you paid. This happens because a player’s value goes up every time he is hired.
Make sure you also let other players hire you. You will get 1,ooo Gold every time you are hired. The price will continue to go up until it reaches 28,000 in value. Getting hired often will allow you to earn a lot of Gold without having to work too much.
7. Gather More Resources
There are three types of resources in Kingdoms of Heckfire: Gold, Ore, and Food. When you are still starting out, you might find that you are a bit short on resources. You will be able to get what you need from completing quests. However, if you want to get more, you will need to wait until you hit level 3. Once you do, you will gain access to the Realm Map. You can go to the Realm in order to earn various resources. Just remember that losing a battle in the Realm Map will result in having some of your own possessions stolen by the enemies.
8. How To Train Your Dragon
Dragons are your most important units in this game. You can find more dragons by clearing land in your kingdom. Once you find a dragon, make sure you feed it and send it to battle often. You can also rank it up by using dragon shards that can be obtained by completing quests, opening chests, and purchasing them directly from the in-game store.
Aside from having well-trained dragons, you should also take advantage of allies. As mentioned above, you can hire another player to accompany you on your journey. Of course, you would want to take stronger allies with you. Just don’t forget that players can be hired by others even if they are currently working with you. You will lose a hired ally if he is hired by another player who pays more.
9. Play It Safe
The game provides protection to new players that expires after a few days. You have the option to turn off the protection sooner but that can be a costly mistake. Make sure you play it safe by keeping the protection until it expires on its own. You should also keep your resource levels below the protected cap. This will help ensure that your hard-earned resources will not go to waste.
