Dungelot: Shattered Lands is the third game in the Dungelot series, and while the other two titles are available for Android, this new entry is only available for iOS devices as of the moment. It is an “epic roguelike” dungeon crawler game where you’ll have four characters to upgrade, 18 dungeons to crawl, and tons of zombie cows, evil mushrooms, and other monsters to defeat. There are also mini-games and side quests, as well as boss fights and merchants you can trade equipment with.
All in all, this is a simpler take on dungeon crawlers – you have less characters and less dungeons, but simplicity is arguably one of the game’s main selling points. You’ll still have “dozens of hours of content” and three worlds to explore, as well as hundreds of items, spells and enemies. And since you may still need help as a first-time player, we suggest you to check out our list of Dungelot: Shattered Lands tips and hints.
1. Use Lanterns To Find Your Way Around
Using a lantern is always a great idea in Dungelot: Shattered Lands. Doing this would reveal all the enemies in a level, which should be lots of help for you as you try to crawl the dungeon and know which enemies to avoid. Sometimes, they may be located in a box-like position around the area where you started, but don’t panic – the lanterns will show you the way and help you make your way through the dungeon with the least amount of trouble.
2. Be Alert For Extra Gold
You might bump into random items in dungeons, and as long as it’s not an enemy, you’re in good hands. You might even score some extra gold pieces in the process! For example, you might encounter crates in the goblin’s shop, or maybe some rocks that are hiding some gold. Don’t be afraid to snoop around, but be careful that you’re not accidentally poking an enemy.
3. Spend Your Money Wisely
Once you’ve completed the fifth level in a dungeon, as well as every fifth level thereafter, you will have the option to transact business with a goblin and buy items from him. But don’t spend your gold just because the goblin is giving you an opportunity to do so. For example, if you’re finding yourself in trouble and believe you might die a few levels later, you won’t get much benefit from some knives and bombs. You’re probably better off holding on to your gold rather than settling for the most basic of throwing weapons.
So how will you spend your gold if you’re not going to buy weak weapons from the goblin? You’ll want to save them instead for equipment upgrades, or for future dungeon runs that may hopefully turn out better than the one you’re on.
4. How To Power Up Your Hero
You would be able to power up your hero if you activate the shrine located outside the dungeon entrance. You’ll only be able to do this so many times, which means you’ll need to choose the right buffs based on your needs at the time. The shrine’s blessings aren’t permanent – they’ll only help you until the next dungeon crawl and will cost you some gold – but they’re pretty good for what they’re worth.
5. Salvage Items
As you crawl through more dungeons, your inventory will keep filling up. But that doesn’t mean you should leave items behind. Those surplus items can be salvaged, which will fill up your power bar and buff up your hero’s special abilities. Don’t let anything extra go to waste in Dungelot: Shattered Lands!
