Descendants Tips, Cheats & Strategy Guide: 7 Tricks to Help You Become Legendary

Disney’s new mobile title for iOS and Android, Descendants, is a game based on the Disney Channel’s hit movie of the same name, and it’s your chance to join the film’s characters in a wickedly fun adventure where you can create your own avatar, discover magical quests, and travel to new locations as a student of Auradon Prep. This is a high school like the one you attend (or attended), but with a few exceptions – it’s a prestigious school with magic and monsters, but otherwise, it’s like your average high school. As for the game itself, there are missions to complete, rewards to collect as you try to become “Legendary” explore the school, and become friends with new Descendants.

Looking to become Legendary before long? Our excluslive list of Descendants tips, tricks and strategies will help you do just that, so read on if you’re looking for some tips and tricks for this new Disney game.

1. Know Your Surroundings

Familiarizing yourself with the in-game universe is one very important thing to do in this game. A lot of the exploring you’ll be doing here may seem like a waste of time, and that’s just what it is – sometimes, you really have to waste some time. Then again, all that exploring could help you know where everything is, even if the game does tell you where exactly you have to go, so you don’t wander around too much.

As a bonus tip, the scooter that you’ll ride to travel to other areas is found at the School Entrance, and you can make your way there via the Directory.

2. Only Start Missions When You Have Full Energy

Before starting a mission, always make sure your energy is at 100 percent, or at least 90 percent or so. The missions will have you tapping your phone’s screen, so that you fill up your meter with shields. The more shields you fill up before your time in a level is up, the closer you’ll be to completing a mission. Getting all the required shields before the time is up will complete the mission for you, and you won’t have to wait for the timer.

3. Be A Good Student, Help Your Peers

When trying to get around in Descendants’ setting of Auradon Prep, you want to help people in school. Being a good student to your peers will grant you missions, and the more missions you complete, the closer you’ll get to becoming Legendary. And once again, be sure you’ve got enough energy before you start a mission so you’ll have a better chance of completing it.

4. Tap On Objects In Your Surroundings

As it is in games of this kind, you’ll want to tap on the objects you find in your surroundings. Keep tapping on things in a given scene, and take note of the objects that you can tap, as they may just contain some sort of hidden treasure you can use.

5. Be Trendy, Dress Yourself Up

Just like in school, you don’t want to be caught wearing the same outfit two days in a row. The game suggests that you change your outfit as often as you could, and while there doesn’t seem to be any distinct advantage to doing so, it’s best to follow what Descendants says and change your wardrobe regularly. Use your coins to unlock as many outfits as possible to help you follow this advice properly.

6. Save Your Gems, Don’t Waste Them On Your Missions Or Energy

It’s a tempting idea to spend your gems so you can speed up time in missions or replenish your energy. But instead of using them, you can go ahead and use the time lapse cheat, as it still works in this game. As a recap of this tried-and-tested technique, all you’ve got to do is to go to your phone’s settings, set the time forward by about an hour, or as much time as what is needed to get to the mission or get your energy back to 100 percent.

7. Gather Shields Strategically

Last, but not the least, your shield collecting should be done in a strategic manner when you’re on missions. That means getting shields while spending as little energy as possible. Here’s a simple example – if you’ve got a task that requires six energy points, completing it will give you two full shields, or four pieces. Completing a task with two energy points will get you one full shield, or two pieces. It’s the latter task that you want to go for, as it allows you to save two energy points per two shields.
