Brawl Stars Character Guide to All 15 Brawlers

Brawl Stars is Supercell’s latest mobile game for iOS devices. This brand new MOBA title throws players against each other in different game modes, including one 10-player free-for-all deathmatch. Players get to control one of the 15 unique brawlers available, each with their own set of skills and characteristics. If you are just starting out in the game, be sure to read our Brawl Stars beginner’s guide, which contain some neat tips and tricks. You will also need to learn all about these brawlers if you want to be able to use them effectively in battle. It’s a good thing we have listed everything you need to know about each of them in our Brawl Stars character strategy guide below!

1. El Primo

Type: Melee
Speed: 650
Health: 1300
Super: Flying Elbow Drop
Rarity: Common

With a name like El Primo, it only makes sense for this brawler to take the number one spot on the list. While he is a Tank by role, he can still deal some massive damage when he uses his Super. It’s a useful skill for both wiping out opponents and creating distance when you’re low. Avoid one-on-one confrontations with this guy unless you want a flying elbow to your face. If you must take him on, try to create as much distance between the two of you before taking shots at him. His melee range is the only thing that hampers his ability to squish every opponent on the field.

2. Barley

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 600
Super: Last Call
Rarity: Rare

Barley is probably the exact opposite of El Primo. He is a ranged glass cannon who specializes in character control. He can prevent opponents from picking up gems and can be useful in Smash and Grab this way. When up against this brawler, try to get as close to him as quickly as possible. He has very low health to begin with so take him out before he takes a shot at you. If you know he is on the opposing team, make sure you are alert so as not to be on the receiving end of his Last Call.

3. Nita

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 800
Super: Overbearing
Rarity: Common

Nita is a cute little girl that has a big secret – voracious bear hiding in her back pocket, ready to beatdown anyone who opposes her. She relies heavily on her Overbearing so once she has used that up, she will need to back off from the heat of battle or risk being overpowered herself. Take advantage of her Super’s down time to take her out. If you’re not sure if the bear’s ready for battle, it’s better not to poke her at all.

4. Jessie

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 700
Super: Scrappy!
Rarity: Common

Jessie may seem less intimidating compared to Nita at first. While she may not have a wild animal at her command, she still has a few tricks up her sleeve. As a mechanical prodigy, this girl can whip up a turret with her Scrappy! skill. These turrets provide a great line of defense for her team, making her an invaluable member of any group.

5. Poco

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 800
Super: Encore
Rarity: Rare

If you happen to pull a Poco from one of your boxes, then thank your lucky stars. Using him will have your teammates loving you, and opponents wishing you were never born. His Encore skill heals himself as well as any teammate within range. Using this skill strategically will keep his team alive for days. Going up against his team means prioritizing him as a target. Be careful because his teammates will surely protect him with their lives.

6. Shelly

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 800
Super: Super Shell
Rarity: Common

It’s hard to say anything bad about Shelly, with her being the first character anyone ever plays. She is a well-rounded unit that’s easy to control. She has good range and an even better Super. Her Super Shell can wipe out multiple enemies as well as obstacles. If she’s on the opposing team, you better not relax even if you are in hiding.

7. Colt

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 600
Super: Bullet Train
Rarity: Common

Colt, unfortunately, is the definition of mediocrity when it comes to ranged units. He has decent range and damage but has nothing in his set that would really scare anyone. He is one of the few characters that can pierce obstacles but he is also one of the most fragile units in the game. If Barley is a glass cannon, this guy is a glass pistol. His Super can deal some damage but needs to be lined up in order for it to be effective.

8. Dynamike

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 600
Super: Big Barrel o’ Boom
Rarity: Common

While also one of the most fragile brawlers in the game, Dynamike at least makes up for it by annoying opponents with his dynamite. Unfortunately, he is a one-trick pony who has very little to offer aside from his Super. Using him in direct confrontations is suicide. Focus on providing support damage instead by hiding somewhere and throwing Supers all over the place.

9. Bull

Type: Melee
Speed: 650
Health: 1200
Super: Bulldozer
Rarity: Rare

Bull is the poor man’s El Primo. In a pinch, he can be used as a tank but not much else. His melee range makes it difficult for him to fight unless he uses his Bulldozer. When his Super is on cooldown, the best use for him is to serve as a meat shield. Regardless, avoid taking on this guy on your own because he still has considerable health. It will take you a while to kill him off, making you vulnerable to other player attacks. Call for back up when you see him then just keep your distance as you whittle away at his health.

10. Brock

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 600
Super: Rocket Rain
Rarity: Common

Brock is your guy if you like having the big gun on the team. Nothing much gets bigger than a rocket. Unfortunately, he also doesn’t have much use beyond his Super. His rockets can also be tricky to aim at times. He is best for bigger maps where you have a clear line of sight. Keep your distance if you are using him as his pathetic health will most likely get him killed in 1v1 confrontations. When you are up against him, just move around a lot to make it even more difficult for him to hit you. It should be easy to take him out if you don’t get intimidated by his rockets.

11. Ricochet

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 500
Super: Trick Shot
Rarity: Rare

As his name suggests, Ricochet’s bullets will ricochet, or bounce, giving you the chance to hit opponents who are hiding behind obstacles. While this sounds all good in writing, it rarely ever happens in game, making him ineffective overall. His Super is a saving grace, though. It’s perfect for wreaking havoc in tight spaces. He has the worst Health in the game so if you are up against him, try to take him out before his uses his Trick Shot. His normal attacks aren’t too useful so it should be easy enough to approach him in a 1v1 situation.

12. Bo

Type: Ranged
Speed: 650
Health: 800
Super: Catch a Fox
Rarity: Epic

Bo is an Epic brawler, that in itself is enough reason to get excited about him. He is extremely useful as a ranged unit because of his range as well as damage output. His Super is also useful in taking out opponents by surprise, making him one of the most versatile brawlers in the game. He will be very difficult to unlock due to his rarity so consider yourself lucky if you can pick up this brawler.

13. Mortis

Type: Melee
Speed: 750
Health: 800
Super: Life Blood
Rarity: Epic

Another Epic brawler, Mortis is also one of the fastest brawlers in the game. As a melee brawler, speed is one of the best things you can have in your arsenal as it practically negates your limited range. His Super is equally epic as he calls down a flurry of bats to rain doom on his opponents. He is one of the most useful melee brawlers in the game. It’s too bad his Epic rarity makes it very difficult to actually acquire him.

14. Crow

Type: Ranged
Speed: 750
Health: 600
Super: Swoop
Rarity: Legendary

Do not underestimate Crow even if he has minimal initial damage and low Health. With speed on his side, he can kite through the map while throwing his poison daggers around. Worse, he baits opponents into 1v1 situations because they don’t realize just how much damage he really is dealing until it’s too late! Keep in mind that he is a Legendary brawler for a reason. His gameplay may be for more seasoned players so you might see newbies struggling with him. A veteran player controlling him on the opposing team, however, means a world of hurt for your team.

15. Spike

Type: Melee
Speed: 650
Health: 700
Super: Stick Around!
Rarity: Legendary

Spike is a peculiar brawler that takes a while to learn but can be devastating in the right hands. Despite his melee range, he is able to deal damage to multiple opponents due to his spikes that scatter around. His Super is great for setting up opponents during team fights because it slows them down on top of damaging them. Keep your distance if you see Spike on the enemy team, and be prepared to run for it before his Super is unleashed. His teammates can easily swoop in for the kill once you have been caught in it.
