BitLife is undeniably one of those mobile titles with unbelievable staying power, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re playing the iOS or Android version. The game just keeps getting bigger and better, but even when it isn’t, you can count on developer Candywriter to roll out a new challenge over the weekend and keep you busy for the next few days.
The Challenge feature, we’d say, is such an integral part of BitLife that you can now access old challenges by paying five dollars for the Challenge Vault, which contains more than 100 past challenges, and possibly more to come.
The folks at Candywriter are still keeping things nice, simple, and classical in terms of the challenges they offer — as it seems, it might be a while before we get our next pop culture-themed weekly challenge, though only time will tell if that turns out to be true. The Rising Star Challenge, however, is one of the racier ones we’ve done in quite a while, and it’s because you’re going to be asked to enter a certain industry as an actor, before switching to a more mainstream type of acting.
Of course, that “certain industry” is the adult film industry, and if you’re having trouble crossing over to more typical fare, check out this BitLife mini-strategy guide, which contains a few tips that could help you complete this challenge before the time expires…or if it gets added to one of those Challenge Vaults.
Getting Started — Make Sure You Have Good Looks!
As you’ll see if you’re trying the Rising Star Challenge for the first time, there is no specific requirement in terms of your birth city or country or your gender — you can choose to control a male or female character from any part of the world, but you may also have to re-roll your character until you get one who has 80 Looks or better.
This will make it easier for you to get a job as a Porn Star right out of high school, though you also have the option to start out as a Porn Cameraman, then get promoted to Porn Star after a few years. Expect those two lines of work to be hard to come by when you’re quitting and restarting BitLife in order to reset the list of job offerings.
The Rising Star Challenge also expects you to become a famous Porn Star, and not just any ordinary adult entertainer. Keep using the “Work Harder” option in the job menu and get your performance bar as close to 100 percent as possible, and you should be on the road to fame in about 7 to ten years’ time after getting the job — more than just that if you’re working your way up from Porn Cameraman.
Start Small and Improve Your Craft
Once you’ve achieved some measure of fame as an adult film star, you can move on to mainstream acting roles, though you shouldn’t expect any kind of coveted roles for your first attempts at stardom as a “legit” actor, even if you’ve attended acting classes beforehand. As far as the mainstream show business world is concerned, you’re still a nobody, so don’t get discouraged if bit roles with poor quality scripts will be the only ones that you can realistically get at first.
After getting the role, that’s where you can do a number of things to increase your chances of performing well — not well enough for any kind of award at first, but well enough to exceed the expectations for such poorly written films. Of course, the option is there to take acting classes, which cost $3,000 a session, but you can also make friends with your co-stars, practice your lines, make public appearances in character, and/or even pull off a publicity stunt.
The latter may be hit-or-miss, but if the stunt doesn’t turn out as planned, you can always quit the game before accepting the result and try it again. And when it comes to the random scenarios you may encounter after hitting the Age button, just keep doing the right thing — except if you’re asked to take hard drugs, which could turn out to be fatal, or worse, addictive.
How Can You Get a Bitcademy Award?
The next requirement in the BitLife Rising Star Challenge is to win a Best Actor/Actress Bitcademy Award for a lead role. Basically, it all boils down to the steps we mentioned above, though once you’ve had at least two impressive performances as a supporting character, that’s when you can start going after the best scripted movies, which are typically the ones that can help you get in contention for a Best Actor Bitcademy Award.
Another important thing to keep in mind here would be to make sure the role is a good fit for you. You can’t expect to play an 80-year-old man in your 30s, or to play a male character if you’re female, or vice versa. At the end of the day, you’re looking for the best script, the best fit based on your gender and age (it’s usually those two factors), and a film where you are actually playing the lead role.
Being Famous Typically Resets After You Switch to Mainstream Acting
The last requirement in the Rising Star Challenge may seem like the easiest to complete upon first glance. And while it isn’t the hardest either, it’s not as straightforward as it seems. While Fame gradually decreases if you do nothing to boost that stat in just about every other celebrity profession, it can go away pretty quickly if you start out as a Porn Star and aren’t employed by a studio for a few years.
So even if you boost your Fame to 90 percent and beyond before moving on to mainstream films, that might not be enough to tide you over until you achieve fame outside of the adult film industry.
So with that in mind, we would suggest taking your time in your quest to win that Best Actor Bitcademy Award, and if you win the award before you’ve reached ten years of fame as a mainstream actor, keep appearing in movies or TV shows to stay busy and to keep your Fame stat at a high level.
When you’ve reached your tenth year as a famous actor, that’s when you can typically collect your prize by tapping on one of the prize chests. As always, you’ll get a new hat or eyewear, and while they’ll seldom ever be spooky, they’ll certainly come in handy in the run-up to Halloween as you complete more BitLife playthroughs.
