Not every game has to be about an epic quest to save the world. Simple pleasures like slowly getting stronger, finding better gear, upgrading your stuff, and so on are just as important. And those are what Archero 2 is all about. Chapter gift packs are available in the in-game shop, offering various options for players to spend real money strategically.
Archero 2 is the sequel to Archero, boasting pretty much the same gameplay at a higher level of refinement. If you’re a fan of survivors-like games (as in Vampire Survivors) or enjoy a nice grind, then this game’s definitely for you. Archero 2 is available on both the Google Play Store and the App Store.
This isn’t a particularly hard title to pick up and play, but if you’re looking to get a headstart, you’re in the right place. In this Archero 2 beginner’s guide, we’ll thoroughly go over the concepts and knowledge that you need in the early game, which will help you fully enjoy Archero 2.
If you’re looking to breeze through this Archero 2 beginner’s guide, feel free to skip to the “Quick Tips” subsections.
Getting Started with Archero 2
The first order of business in Archero 2 is to learn how to fight. While the game is easy enough to pick up and play without any guidance, you might be looking for help on how to get ahead – in which case, continue reading our Archero 2 beginner’s guide!
Quick Tips
· If you’ve played survivors games before, I outlined Archero 2’s differences in the “For Early Game Survivors and Veterans” subsection.
· There are two general level types: arena and survivors.
o In arena mode, enemies spawn per wave. You cannot pick up experience until the end of a wave.
o In survivors mode, the clock is constantly running. Experience is picked up automatically.
· Enemies spawn per wave. Their locations are indicated by red skulls, so stay away from those.
· Your hero attacks automatically. Stand still to use your bow (uses auto aim).
o Skills that “charge up” also require you to stand still.
· Enemy attacks in Archero 2 seriously hurt. Utilize your great range and be sure to dodge out of enemy attacks.
· The most convenient way to heal is by picking up hearts. Enemies sometimes drop hearts, and special waves spawn hearts.
o Hearts on the field will not vanish unless picked up. You can pick up hearts even at full health.
· You can revive once per level, either by paying gems (do not do this) or watching an ad.
· Whether you die or clear the level, you’ll get to keep any gold, exp, scrolls, and equipment you picked up.
· Defeated monsters drop experience; experience is collected at the end of a wave.
· Each level up grants you a choice of one of three skills.
o It’s a good idea to pick skills based on what you currently need. Stuff like ATK power or damage are always a good choice if you can’t decide.
· Skills have rarity. In ascending order, they are green -> blue -> purple -> orange.
o Green skills are perfectly viable.
· Skills cannot be leveled up (you can’t keep picking the same skill to make it stronger)
· There are special entities that spawn at particular waves/times on the clock.
o Valkyrie = free skill, drops a heart
o Angel = minor stat boost or random heal
o Boss = difficult enemy for you to overcome. In survivors mode, the timer is locked until the boss is dead.
· Defeating a boss additionally spawns one of two entities.
o Roulette = random prize
o Devil = pay max HP for a skill
· You can tweak some settings to make gameplay faster and smoother. Effects can be lessened, the roulette effect for skills can be skipped, and the joystick can be hidden.
For Early Game Survivors and Veterans
Before we begin: if you’ve played your fair share of survivors games, you very likely won’t need to go through this whole section in our Archero 2 beginner’s guide. However, here are some key differences that Archero 2 has deviate from the usual survivors mechanics:
· You must stand still to attack with your bow – this includes any shot modifiers you might get, such as more forward projectile, diagonal shot, split shot, etc.
· For arena-mode stages, experience is awarded at the end of each round, not during the round itself.
· For arena-mode stages, enemies deploy in waves; there’s no one giant wave plus a timer.
· Enemies have different behaviors – they don’t just try to collide into you.
· There are no AOE markers for enemy attacks.
Archero Core
Archero 2 is, at its core, a very simple game. All you need to do is dive into a level, defeat a certain number of enemy waves, and get out. Easy, right?
There are two general stage types in Archero 2: arena and survivors mode. The differences between the two are:
· Arena mode requires you to clear a certain number of waves.
o Enemies will spawn in via red skull marker at the beginning of a new wave.
o Experience is picked up at the end of each wave.
· Survivors mode requires you to survive for a certain amount of time.
o Enemies will continuously spawn in.
o Experience can be picked up as soon as it’s dropped.
To defeat your foes, you’ll need to use various long range attacks with weapons and tools. Foremost among these is your trusty bow, which your hero will automatically shoot as long as they’re standing still. You should also keep in mind that skills that require you to “charge up” also mean you need to remain stationary.
Naturally, the enemies won’t appreciate you trying to kill them. These various baddies will try to fight back, inflicting damage to your hero either via projectile or collision damage. Make no mistake – enemies in Archero 2 hurt, so do your best to avoid getting close to your foes and dodge their shots. Consistent gear upgrades are essential for improving player performance and making gameplay easier. Luckily, your hero has massive range with their bow and weapons, so stay as far away as you can.
Health and Death
As I mentioned, enemies in Archero 2 seriously hurt. Don’t expect to survive more than 4 hits. The main way of staying alive is just to not get hit at all, so be sure to get out of the way of charges and enemy projectiles!
If you do get hit, there are a few ways to restore health. The most common way to recover health is by picking up red hearts, which are an uncommon drop from enemies and at the end of certain special waves. Note that:
· You can pick up hearts even if your health is full.
· Hearts do not vanish, so you can keep them on the field until you need them.
Some skills give you alternative ways to heal, such as by giving you lifesteal. But for the most part, you’ll be stuck with using hearts – so learning how to budget them early on will help you in the long run.
If you run out of health, your hero will die. From there, you have two options: revive by spending gems (try not to do this) or by watching an ad (do this).
If you revive, you’ll return with full health and a few seconds of invulnerability to get away from whatever killed you. If you choose not to revive, you’ll be booted out of the stage with whatever gold, experience, scrolls, and other goodies you’ve acquired until that point. You only get one optional revive per stage whether you paid with gems or not, so make it count!
Level Ups and Skills
Defeating monsters will cause them to drop blue experience crystals, which are picked up at the end of a wave in arena mode, or instantly in survivors mode. Once you collect enough experience crystals, you’ll gain a new level – you can see how much experience you need via the meter at the top of the screen.
Every time you level up, you’ll be given a choice between at least 3 new skills.
Be sure to pick whichever skill you need the most in any situation. For example, if you’re having trouble surviving, picking a skill that gives more HP or movement speed to help you avoid attacks might be better. Otherwise, more DPS is the way to go – enemies can’t hurt you if they’re dead. Note that most skills do not require you to stand still to do damage; for example, revolving orbs will deal damage even if you’re moving. It’s just your bow that needs you to be stationary.
Skills have rarity. In ascending order, these are green (Fine), blue (Rare), purple (Epic), and orange (Legendary). Rarity isn’t everything though, and green skills can carry you through a level just fine.
If you ever need to review what skills you already have, you can hit the pause button in a stage to bring up your current skills.
Note that unlike other survivors games, skills can’t be leveled up. You can’t keep picking the same skill to make it stronger.
Lastly, if you’re having trouble deciding what skill to pick, always go for more DPS. Even basic cards that just boost ATK power are good: more DPS = faster kills = less opportunity for enemies to hit you!
Valkyries, Angel Blessings, Devil Deals, and Roulettes
To shake things up, special things will happen at specific waves or times in survivors mode. These special waves can offer both benefits and challenges and knowing when they’re going to arrive will help you pace yourself.
- Valkyrie waves show up as orange icons in arena mode and spawn every 5th wave in a set of 10 (5, 15, 25…).
- In survivors mode, the first Valkyrie spawns at 0:30, then every 1 minute thereafter.
- Valkyries offer one of two skills.
- After taking a Valkyrie item, she’ll also drop a heart.
- Angel Blessings appear as green icons in arena mode. They spawn every 9th wave in a set of 10 in arena mode (9, 19, 29…).
- In survivors mode, the first Angel appears at 1:00, then every 1 minute thereafter.
- Angel Blessings are always a choice between a minor stat boost or a random amount of healing.
- Boss waves appear as red icons in arena mode. These spawn every 10th wave in a set of 10 (10, 20, 30…).
- In arena mode, they spawn at predetermined times, usually after 3 minutes. The timer does not progress while a boss is alive.
- When a boss spawns, the spawn timers of Valkyries and Angels are reset.

Defeating a boss also spawns one of two entities:
- The Roulette lets you roll for a random prize.
- The Devil will tempt you to make a deal – get a new skill, but lose some max HP. Be sure to carefully weigh the pros and cons of the offer.
Optimizations
Before we finish this section of our Archero 2 beginner’s guide, there are a couple of options you can tick to make your gameplay smoother and quicker. Once you’re on the main screen (where you select a stage) tap on the three lines on the upper left, then select Settings.
Next, modify the following settings to your liking:
· Effect Reduction = makes the battlefield clearer by lessening the number of effects on screen.
· Skip Skill Choice Animation = turns off the roulette animation when selecting skills.
· Hide Joystick = hides the joystick when moving around, allowing you to dodge better.
Getting Stronger
Despite your best efforts, you may find your ass getting handed to you regularly in Archero 2. That’s okay – the game is balanced around players losing, collecting materials, and using meta progression to get stronger. Here’s what you need to know to permanently improve your hero’s strength.
Quick Tips
· The two best things you can spend your gems on in the early game are Obsidian chests and Rune Ruins runs.
· Gear gives stats. You can equip six different pieces of equipment. In the early game, focus on filling out your slots.
· There are two main ways to get equipment:
o Equipment can be dropped in stages. This usually just drops common gear.
o You can open chests to get more equipment. These chests require keys or gems to open.
o You get a free Silver chest per day and a free Obsidian chest every 2 days.
· Gear gacha:
o Chromatic chests are the “standard” banner, containing a huge variety of Epic gear with no weighing.
o Mythstone chests are the “rate-up” banner; one equipment set there will be weighed. This is the banner of choice if you’re looking for specific S-tier epic gear sets.
o Pity: guaranteed Epic within 10 pulls for Obsidian, Chromatic, and Mythstone. For Chromatic and Mythstone, guaranteed S-tier Epic within 50 pulls.
o Pity is not shared between these two chests. Pity is shared between Mythstone chest cycles.
· In the early game – pull on at least Obsidian Chests to get a good stock of epics without killing your gem supply.
o Many Carnival quests (newbie quest chain) require you to pull from Obsidian.
o The pity system will help you build up to at least Epic gear.
· Wait until mid or endgame to try to assemble S-tier gear sets from Mythstone chests – pulling here is expensive and you need to fill out your slots in the early game.
· Gear stats can be improved by paying gold and scrolls of whatever equipment type you want to boost.
o You upgrade gear slots. For example, if you upgrade your weapon to level 3 then switch to another weapon, that new weapon will be level 3. That means that no resources are wasted when switching gear.
· The higher a piece of gear’s rarity, the more passive boosts it gains.
o Rarity can be improved by fusing multiples of the same gear.
o Higher rarity fusion has different rules, such as only requiring an item from the same slots.
o Trash equipment from normal chests and stage drops can be fused to increase its rarity and serve as fusion fodder later on.
o BE CAREFUL NOT TO ACCIDENTALLY FUSE YOUR S-TIER GEAR.
· Gear passive abilities depend on the set. Until Epic, each piece of gear gives generic bonuses. Make sure that you’re fine with the set bonus as fusion is on a per-item basis, not a slot like upgrades.
· Runes are similar to equipment in that they give passive boosts.
o You have several slots for runes, but runes can only go into slots with matching shapes.
· Runes cannot be upgraded but can be fused for more passive abilities.
· Runes come from the Rune Ruins minigame, which requires shovels or gems to play.
· As a new player – runes are worth spending on if you can’t get a full set from your free shovels.
o Runes are important enough that you should always consider spending gems if you don’t already have a complete set.
o Since runes don’t need to be upgraded, they provide a lot of bang for your buck in the early game.
· Artifacts – especially mythic or legendary artifacts – give good stats but getting them is a tortuous gacha RNGfest. This is more of mid or late game stuff, so we won’t go over them in detail.
o Once again: mythic or legendary artifacts look great but are the exclusive realm of paying players. THESE ARE NOT F2P FRIENDLY AT ALL!
· Talents provide passive stat boosts. While random, talents only require gold.
· Multiples of the same talent card will improve the bonus.
· You can switch characters; different characters offer different passive bonuses.
o To unlock a character, either get 50 shards, buy them, or do events. Each character has a different unlock method.
· Shards can be used to strengthen a character’s passives. These come from the daily shop (very expensive) but also from quests, events, the Arena Shop, and the Guild Store.
What Gem Investments Offer The Best Value for a New Player?
You’re probably itching to spend your gems by this point, but hold off a second. As getting gems is slow outside of the early game, let’s direct your premium currency spending to where it would matter most.
There are two main things to spend on: chests and runes.
For chests, I’d suggest going for Obsidian chests – they’ll give you the best value as a new player, and you’ll need to open a lot of them for the newbie Carnival event. The pity system also means you’ll get a ton of Epic (if not S-tier epic) items to help you with progression.
Once you’ve got a set of Epic gear and are in the midgame, you can start saving for a set of S-tier gear you want via the Mythstone chest – remember that the S-tier gear set in the Mythstone chest rotates, so hoard your gems until the set you want comes out, and don’t pull on Chromatic chests.
Runes are also a fantastic way to spend your gems. Runes are like a second equipment system, and you want to fill these out ASAP even if it’s just for the bonus stats. Gems spent on Rune Ruins runs are always well-spent since Runes, like gear, must be fused to be maximized.
Now let’s discuss these systems in full as part of our Archero 2 beginner’s guide.
Equipment
The first and foremost way of becoming stronger in Archero 2 is to get and upgrade equipment.

Your character has six equipment slots: one weapon, one amulet, one ring, one body armor, one helmet, and one pair of boots. Filling each of these with passable gear should be your priority in the early game – any gear stat boost is better than no stat boost. Luckily, getting low-level gear is simple: either it drops from stages or can be bought by opening chests in the shop.
Gear chests in the shop can be opened either with keys (which you get from quests, clearing stages, and so on) or by paying gems. Silver and Obsidian chests are cheap but will get you low-rarity stuff, Chromatic chests are the “standard” gear gacha, and Mythstone chests are the “rate up” gear gacha, which rotates every 3 days. To get keys, you can do quests, events, or buy them from the Arena Shop and Guild Store. Chromatic chest keys are particularly valuable as they can be exchanged through guild activities, playing a crucial role in enhancing character progression.
Obsidian, Chromatic, and Mythstone chests have a pity system that guarantees an Epic item within 10 pulls. Chromatic and Mythstone chest also guarantee an S-tier Epic (S gear) within 50 pulls. S-level items are the absolute best items you can pull from these chests since their stats and set bonuses are far and beyond what normal Epics have.
Pity types aren’t shared between chests, but the pity count is maintained when the Mythstone chest moves to another set.
Gear Upgrades
By upgrading equipment, you’ll be able to raise the base stats that they grant, making you much stronger in the process.

To upgrade gear, simply tap on one of the six slots in your gear screen. You’ll need to pay both gold and scrolls specific to that gear – for example, you need weapon scrolls to upgrade a weapon. Do note that you’re upgrading the equipment slot, not the individual item. This means that you can upgrade your Common gear to level 3, then swap it out for a Rare item – which will be at level 3. This also means that nothing is wasted when you spend resources upgrading your gear slots.
Gear Rarity and Fusion
Bumping up your gear stats is crucial for progressing through Archero 2, but it’s not the only way to upgrade your gear. Fusion is a second upgrade process which allows you to upgrade common equipment to epic gear and beyond!
As you may have noticed, gear has rarity, which determines its base stat boosts. In ascending rarity, gear can be Common (white), Fine (green), Rare (blue), or Epic (purple). There are rarities beyond epic, but those come from refinement. I should also point out that there’s a distinction in the epic tier: there’s epic gear, and then there’s S-tier gear. Both are purple, but S-tier gear has superior stats.
Rarity doesn’t just determine the base stats of a piece of gear. Each piece of equipment has hidden abilities locked behind each rarity:
These abilities require the item to be of higher rarity. Luckily, we can fuse items to improve their rarity. To fuse, tap on Blacksmith in the gear screen, then select the item you want to improve. You’ll need to sacrifice some copies of that item to boost its rarity; to get 1 Fine item, you need 3 copies of that item.
This formula is dynamic based on your item’s rarity: for example, fusing into Epic+1 requires an Epic item of the same slot, not necessarily a duplicate. Even common items have their use as fusion fodder – eventually, they’ll be able to upgrade your S-tier gear. Oh, and keep an eye on your S-tier gear: you don’t want to accidentally fuse it into something else.
Now, abilities differ based on the equipment’s set. Take a look at these two rings:
While they may seem to have identical boosts, this stops once they’re both past epic gear level. The Echo Ring, for example, gives an attack speed boost per 5 combo hits, while the Ring of Destruction has a chance to proc a landmine. Because fusion is on a per-item basis, be sure you’re gunning for the set that you want.
Remember: whether upgrades or fusion, refinement increases gear stats. Gear upgrades are necessary at every point in Archero 2, not just in the early game!
Runes
Runes are a second layer of equipment upgrades. As with equipment, runes provide your archer with a slew of passive upgrades – your priority should be filling out your rune slots ASAP.
While your archer has a lot of slots for runes, keep in mind that runes can only be equipped in slots of the same shape. That means you can equip 4 star runes, 4 hexagon runes, 2 circle runes, and 3 diamond runes – though those come in much later. Runes give different stats, so once you have a lot of them, make sure to sift through your collection and equip only the ones that give the bonuses you want.
Note that while runes are like equipment, they cannot be upgraded, only fused. To fuse a rune, you’ll need to sacrifice 3 copies of that rune (and again, higher rarity fusions will start requiring different items). Higher rarity runes unlock more passive abilities, just like equipment. There’s no S-tier runes, unlike gear, but all the same – be careful not to accidentally fuse your best runes.
The most reliable way to get more runes is via the Rune Ruins minigame, which you can find under Events. Each play requires either a Ruin Shovel or gems.
In this Archero 2 minigame, you’ll need to dig out a 3×3 grid:
· Collecting 2 orange orbs boosts the rarity of the rune you’ll get.
· Collecting 2 purple orbs boosts the number of the runes you’ll get.
· Collecting 2 keys opens the chest, gives you your runes, and ends the minigame.
Just keep digging, and eventually you’ll either get or fuse to the runes you want.
As a new player, it’s important to fill out your rune slots. Runes tend to be more impactful in the early game due to not needing to be upgraded, so if you really want to, go ahead and spend gems on Rune Ruins runs. If needed, you can also get runes from the Guild Store or Arena Shop.
Artifacts
Artifacts are more of a mid game thing, but we’ll briefly go over them in this Archero 2 beginner’s guide.
Basically, artifacts are passive items that give you stat boosts. Sounds great on paper, but the reality is that getting and upgrading them is an excruciating RNG-fest as you not only have to get Wish Coins from weekly quests and the Sky Tower, but also roll an entire set of mythic or legendary artifacts to see any major improvement. Oh, and you’ll very likely only see artifact shards per roll, not entire artifacts.
Say it with me: don’t spend gems on artifacts, especially as a F2P. It’s not worth it.
Talent Cards
Talents – AKA passive stat boosts – are another core progression mechanic. To access your talents, tap on the goblet (4th icon) at the bottom of the screen while picking a stage.
As with skills, talents are represented by cards. To draw a new talent card, you’ll have to pay gold which will get you a new random talent card (except the first, which is always Glory). The more talent cards you have, the more expensive it becomes to draw more cards.
Talent cards are mergeable. If you draw a copy of a talent card you already own, it’ll be merged with your existing copies to improve their bonus.
While talent stat boosts can be a bit wild and aren’t particularly powerful bonuses, they always apply and only cost gold. Be sure to level up your talent cards to keep up with enemy stats in later stages!
Characters
Characters in Archero 2 aren’t just for show. Each character – including Alex, your starter – has unique abilities that will assist in clearing stages.
There are several ways to get characters:
· Collect enough shards from the daily shop. This is expensive.
· Pay gems directly. As of writing, this only applies to Helix, who can be bought for 3,000 gems.
· Buy them directly. As of writing, this applies to Seraph and Dracoola.
· Participate in events. As of writing, you can get Nyanja from the Carnival event and Otta from the Island Treasure Hunt.
Once you own a character, you can increase their star rating to boost their passive abilities. This is done by sacrificing their shards.
Shards can be bought from the daily shop (again, this is expensive). Other reliable methods of nabbing them are quests, events, the Arena Shop, or the Guild Store.
As a new player, characters are not a priority at all. Think of them as passive bonuses to work towards.
Resource Gathering
The last thing you’ll need to know about are the ways in which you can gather resources. You’ll need staggeringly massive amounts of resources to progress in Archero 2, so knowing where to harvest resources and how to maximize your resource gains is very important.
Quick Tips
· Never let your stamina sit idle. If you don’t have anything left to spend stamina on, use it to grind stages.
o You can increase the speed on stages you’ve already completed.
o You recover 5 stamina per hour.
· The Hunt feature passively gathers resources for you based on how far you’ve gotten in the game.
o Hunt resources will only accumulate up to 24 hours.
· Quick Hunts let you spend stamina or watch ads to instantly get a large number of resources.
· You get minor rewards for logging in daily.
· Dailies, weeklies, and achievements give you prizes for completing them.
o Dailies give 100 gems per day, weeklies give chest keys and other tickets.
· You get chapter rewards for reaching new waves or times on the clock in new chapters.
· Each season of Archero 2 has its own seasonal rewards, like a battle pass. Tap on the season banner to access your rewards.
· Different game modes allow you to gather resources quickly.
o In the beginning, the most important one is Gold Cave, which drops lots of gold.
o As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock more dungeons like the Sky Tower.
o It’s a good idea to start any play session by doing these modes – this way, you’ll be sure that you’ve completed all your attempts. Tickets for these modes don’t carry over from day to day.
· PVP in Archero 2 is fully automatic.
o You get daily and seasonal prizes based on your PVP ranking. Only the top 15 in each bracket move up to the next tier.
o PVP matches also net you tickets to spend in the Arena Shop.
· Guilds allow you to earn guild coins via the daily guild boss or donation. These coins can be spent in the Guild Store. Most prominently, you can buy character shards, chest keys, and runes from this shop.
· The Carnival event rewards new players with gems for completing quests over 7 days.
o The biggest prizes here are the Epic Heroic Longbow at 250 points and the Dragoon Crossbow at 750 points.
o These weapons are missable if you don’t finish the Carnival event in time. You 100% do not want to miss these.
· You can snag a small amount of daily, weekly, and monthly freebies via the shop.
· If you’re willing to spend, I’ve listed some of the better bundles in the cash shop: Chapter Gift Packs, the Lifetime Ad-Free Card, the Lifetime Supply Card, and the Hunting Warrior Card.
o The Hunting Warrior Card is particularly great as it provides unlimited quick hunt attempts. Perfect if you don’t have time to spend your stamina.
· I’ve also included a list of working redemption codes as of May 2025.
Stamina Usage
The first rule of resource gathering is never ever let your stamina sit around unused. Stamina in Archero 2 caps at 30, and at the rate of 5 stamina per hour, it’s very easy to let it overflow. While there’s plenty of things to spend stamina on, such as Quick Hunts and progressing through stages, sometimes you’re just going to hit a brick wall. In that case, it’s important to go back and grind through levels.
Luckily, you don’t have to try very hard – especially if you’re well-geared. To help you blitz through levels you’ve already completed, you can tap on this button here:
This will let you play through the stage at double speed. You can also just sit in the middle of the level so that you’ll automatically trigger Angel Blessing/Roulette/Valkyrie/Devil events, though you need to make sure your defenses can handle it!
AFK Gains and Quick Hunt
Your hero isn’t content to just sit on his butt all day. While you aren’t playing Archero 2, the game will passively harvest resources (gold, experience, scrolls, etc.) for you via the Hunt feature. You can access your AFK gains here:
Keep in mind that AFK gains will only accumulate up to 24 hours and that the gathering rate depends on how far you’ve gotten in the game.
You’ll also gain the ability to use Quick Hunt after clearing some starter stages. Quick Hunts allow you to spend stamina or watch ads to get a big chunk of resources based on your current AFK gain rate. Quick hunts are limited, however, so be sure to spend all your daily quick hunt attempts.
Note that there’s a bundle in the cash shop that gives you unlimited quick hunt attempts – more on that in a little bit.
Login Bonuses
Archero 2 gives you a little something just for showing up each day via the login bonus. It’s not much, but extra chest keys are always nice.

If you somehow missed your daily login bonus, you can reopen the menu from the Task Center in the upper right of the main screen.
Daily Quests, Weeklies, and Achievements
As with most live service games, Archero 2 has daily and weekly quests, as well as achievements. Tap the Task Center to see your current quests.
Each completed quest fills up the big bar at the top, and at certain point thresholds, you can claim a chest from this big bar. Make sure you’re tapping the chests to claim your prizes as they won’t automatically deposit into your account.
These quests don’t offer gigantic amounts of instant resources, but they’re still very important since they’ll serve as an important source for materials such as Gems (100 gems per day just from dailies), chest keys, Ruin Shovels, and more.
Chapter Rewards
The chapter rewards system nets you goodies for reaching specific checkpoints in a new stage. For arena-style stages, you get a reward for reaching every 10th level; in survivors mode, you get a new prize for completing each minute.
To access your stage rewards, click on the chest beside the Hunt button.
Seasonal Rewards
Completing daily quests also counts towards seasonal progress. To check your season rewards, tap on the big Season banner at the top of the main page.
There are three tracks per season pass: the free one, the advanced one, and the luxury one. Be sure to tap on each of the glowing icons to claim your prizes.
Game Modes
Alternate game modes provide more opportunities to earn resources. In the early game, these consist of the Gold Cave, Rune Ruins, and PVP. PVP we’ll discuss in a bit, and the Rune Ruins you already know, so let’s talk about the Gold Cave.
The Gold Cave allows you to beat up monsters for extra gold (what else?). Obtaining the Dragon Knight Crossbow during the early game through the Carnival Event is crucial for enhancing player progression. Entering this daily dungeon requires a ticket, and you can watch an ad to enter it once more, for a maximum of two times per day. Each time you clear a Gold Cave level, you’ll gain access to a harder, more profitable version. To maximize your earnings, make sure that you’re fighting at the highest level you can manage, and be sure to use the extra ad ticket to double your winnings.
The Gold Cave isn’t the only dungeon to plumb for goodies. As you progress through the game, more dungeons (like the Sky Tower) will open themselves to you. The same idea holds though: make sure you spend all your tickets to attempt these challenges, as you’ll be missing out on major goodies if you skip them. I tend to do these modes as soon as I log in – that way, I’m sure I completed all of my limited attempts.
PVP
The Arena allows you to participate in PVP.
PVP in Archero 2 is fully automatic. Both players will get 3 random skills, then the AI will duke it out for some time. As there’s nothing you can do to affect this process (other than gear up), you can speed up PVP fights by tapping the time multiplier button:
Winning a match nets you some ladder points, while losing a match costs you some points. Stronger foes give more points, while weaker foes give less. If you don’t like the list of foes the game gives, you can refresh the list – but note that Archero 2 will select opponents from the same PVP tier as you. Each PVP fight costs an Arena Ticket, which refresh daily. If you want to fight more, you can always use gems to buy more tickets. Finally, if you’re looking to move to a higher tier, you need to place at least 15th in your bracket when the season ends.
The entire point of engaging in PVP is to get more resources. Based on your PVP tier and ranking, you’ll get both daily and season end rewards – gold, scrolls, and Arena Exchange Tickets, which can be traded in at the Arena Shop. To access this shop, tap on Arena Shop at the upper left while in the Arena.
Guilds
While Archero 2 is a young game, there’s already a guild system.
As of writing, there’s only really two things to do in guilds.
· Monster Invasion (requires at least a level 3 guild) allows guild members to try and take down a daily guild boss. You’ll get points based on how much damage you did, and these points will translate into guild coins. More on those in a little bit.
· Donations. Donate gems, get guild exp/activity/coins. You can donate once per day for free. Subsequent donations will cost increasing amounts of gems.
You get guild coins for participating in guild stuff. These coins can then be spent in the Guild Store, where you can buy stuff like character shards, runes, chest keys, and more. Make sure you join an active guild to maximize your guild resource gains and get ahead quicker!
Carnival
One of the most important things you need to do as a new player is the Carnival event. You can access the Carnival by tapping on the Carnival button in the upper right of the main screen.
During the Carnival event, you’ll be given new quests every day for 7 days. Completing each quest nets you some gems and event points. Event points are added to the bar at the top of the event, and once you have enough points, you can redeem a chest.
While the large amount of gems should be enough of a reward for completing the quests, the real prize here are the two Epic weapons: a Heroic Longbow at 250 points and the more powerful Dragoon Crossbow at 750 points, both of which will provide an immense boost to your damage. Be sure not to slack off too much, as you only have around 14 days to clear all Carnival quests.
The Cash Shop
There are some freebies up for grabs in Archero 2. These offer piddling amounts of resources, but we take what we can get.
Here’s a list of freebies you can get at the shop:
· You can open a Silver Chest for free roughly once per 24 hours (scroll down the Gear Chest section).
· You can open an Obsidian Chest for free roughly once every 2 days.
· You can watch ads for a total of 2,000 gold (scroll all the way down or go to the Top Up section).
· The daily special pack nets you 10 gems, 100 gold, and a random scroll.
· The weekly special pack nets you 20 gems, 200 gold, and 2 random scrolls.
· The monthly special pack nets you 30 gems, 300 gold, and 3 random scrolls.
There are also some freebies outside of the shop:
· You can gain 5 stamina thrice per day by watching ads.
· You can get 10 gems per day by tapping on Privilege Card on the upper left of the main screen, then claiming your freebies at the very top.
· You can bind an account to a Habby ID. This will let you keep progress across multiple devices and get you 300 gems as well as a Chromatic Chest Key.
