Amazing Fishing (Android) Beginner’s Guide: Tips, Cheats & Strategies to Catch More Fish

Machbird Studio’s latest idle game, Amazing Fishing, has been making waves on Android devices. The game, as you could probably guess, is all about fishing. It features a middle-aged man on a small white boat. Your job is to simply tap on the screen to start fishing and wait for your character to reel in the line, dragging a bunch of fish up to the surface. The more fish you catch, the more you earn. You can then use the money to upgrade your line length, line strength, and offline earnings. Upgrade costs increase with each level, so you will need to make a lot of money if you want to keep progressing. Travel around the world in search of bigger and rarer types of fish. 1. Guide Your Line

One of the things that the game does not really teach you upfront is that you can guide your line after casting it. If you just followed the tutorial, you will probably be spending a lot of time wondering how you are supposed to catch some of those shiny fish that’s swimming on the other side of the screen. To guide your line, simply tap and hold on the screen then drag the line to where you want it to go. You can navigate the line throughout its whole ascent as long as it has not caught the maximum number of fish that if can hold.

The primary reason for guiding your line is to catch specific fish, like the shiny ones that you really want to get your hands on. There is another reason, though. Depending on your line strength, you can only hold a certain number of fish at a time. If you reach the maximum, your line will shoot straight up to the surface regardless of the amount of line length remaining. You can guide your line to avoid catch fish that you don’t really like. This will leave room on your hook for fish that you are actually hunting.

2. Don’t Forget Your Upgrades

As we mentioned before, there are three types of upgrades that you can purchase in Amazing Fishing. The first one is line length. This impacts the depth that your line can reach when you cast it. The deeper you go, the more types of fish you can catch. The second upgrade is your line strength. A stronger line can hold more fish. You will want to upgrade this so you can catch more fish every time you cast your line. The final upgrade type is your offline earnings. As the name suggests, it increases the amount of money you earn when you are logged out from the game.

The type of upgrade you should prioritize depends on how often you plan to play actively. If you will be playing often, you should upgrade your line strength and length evenly. This will allow you to catch a lot of rare fish that will reward you with a lot of money. Of course, if you will be away from the game a lot, you may as well upgrade your offline earnings. You won’t earn as much from offline earnings as you would from actively playing, but at least you will be able to purchase a couple of upgrades every time you log back into the game.

3. Multiply Your Earnings

At the end of every fishing attempt, you will be given the total value for all the fish that you caught. You will then be given the option to multiply this amount by a random number. When you accept the offer, a video advertisement will play. You will then receive the multiplied amount at the end of the video. Make sure you always take advantage of this offer, regardless of the multiplier number. Even if it is just a 2x multiplier, it can still go a long way.

As you play through the game, you will realize how quickly the cost of upgrades can increase. You will need to grab every opportunity to earn a little more. Besides, there is a good chance that a pop-up ad will play if you don’t choose to the multiplier offer. You might as well earn some extra money if you will end up watching an ad either way.

The same offer is available every time you log back into Amazing Fishing. You will be given the total amount of offline earnings you got while you were away. There will also be a multiplier offer that you can take advantage of in exchange for watching an ad. Accept this offer if you were able to gather a significant amount of cash while you were away.

4. Watch Out For Free Upgrades

Another benefit of ads in Amazing Fishing comes in the form of free upgrades. This is possibly one of the best ad offers available because you only just need to watch a single video in order to upgrade regardless of level. That means you can potentially save hundreds of thousands if you accept the upgrade ad offer. The offer appears randomly, so you will have to pay attention to the three upgrade buttons. You won’t get to choose which one to upgrade as the video button will appear on a specific option. It doesn’t really matter which upgrade becomes available because you will have to upgrade all three eventually in order to keep progressing.

5. Look For The Birdie

During the game you will often see a bird holding a bag in its beak flying around the top part of the screen. Tap on it in order to see what’s inside the package. The package contains random rewards that you can acquire by watching yet another video advertisement. It will usually offer you a handful of cash with a multiplier option. If the cash isn’t a lot, feel free to skip it. What you are really looking for is the golden hook. The golden hook is a consumable item that doubles the earnings of your next fishing attempt. If you manage to land a good catch on your next fishing attempt, you can still multiply that further through the ad offer. That means you can earn a whole lot of catch by stacking the different multipliers available.

6. How To Catch A Boss

Now that you have a few upgrades under your belt, and that you have a good grasp of how to catch specific fish, it is time to hunt for some bosses. Each area on the map spawns a specific boss. In order to catch one, you just have to lure it out first. When you cast your line, you will notice three boxes at the top of the screen with fish silhouettes in them. Each silhouette represents a specific fish that you need to catch. If you catch all three fish indicated in the boxes, the boss will appear and chomp on your line. A mini game will then begin where you have to tap furiously to bring down the boss’ health before time runs out. If you succeed, the boss will be reeled up to the surface resulting in a rain of shiny fish.

When you catch a boss for the first time, you will automatically unlock it under the Servants tab. You can then choose a boss as your servant. Having a servant does not really do anything. You will just see your character riding the boss instead of the boat. For some of the smaller bosses, they will appear beside the boat instead.

7. Trigger A Shiny Frenzy

As you could probably guess by now, shiny fish give you more money compared to regular ones. You can easily tell if a fish is shiny because it will be a golden version of a regular fish. At the top right area of your screen, you will see a golden fish icon with segments around it. Every time you catch a shiny fish, you will fill out one segment. Once all segments are full, you will automatically trigger a shiny frenzy event. This event will turn all fish into shiny fish for a short period. The great thing about this is that you can catch as many shiny fish as you can during the frenzy and they will not add to your total number of fish caught. That means you can continue to catch a few more fish after the frenzy ends.

One thing you should keep in mind when you are about to trigger a shiny frenzy is to avoid luring out a boss. If the boss suddenly appears during your shiny frenzy, it will automatically end the event, but your shiny meter will still be reset. If you see that you are only one shiny fish short of a frenzy, you should avoid catching any fish that is on the boss list.

8. Unlock New Locations, Here’s How

New locations on the map will reward you with more money. The money bonus increases the further you progress. These new locations are also home to new bosses and types of fish. In order to unlock a new location, you must first meet the upgrade level requirement. Tap on the map icon on the left side of the screen to view the entire map. You will then see the line strength and length requirement for each location. Make sure you transfer to the new location as soon as it becomes available. There is really no benefit to overstaying in a certain location unless you haven’t caught the boss for that area yet.

9. Claim Your New Fish Rewards

Every time you catch a new type of fish, an exclamation mark will appear on the top left corner of the screen. Tap on the portrait of the new fish that you just caught to open up its menu. Tap on the portrait again in order to claim the reward. The rarer the fish, the bigger your monetary reward will be. Even though this is a one-time reward, it is still a good idea to collect it whenever you can. Money is the name of the game, and you will want to claim every little bit that you can.

10. The Random Mystery

As you play the game, you will occasionally encounter a Random Mystery event. You might wonder what this is, and it can be confusing because it is different each time. A Random Mystery can be a good or a bad thing. Some bad events will spawn seaweed that will get your line stuck. Some of them will restrict your field of vision or summon a boss that will eat up any fish that you try to catch. A good Random Mystery event, however, is an instant shiny frenzy that is triggered outside of your meter. That means you can potentially get two shiny frenzies in a single fishing attempt if you get lucky!

11. Complete Your Daily Quests For Rewards

Tapping on the top right corner of your screen will give you access to the list of Daily Quests. These are fishing tasks that you need to accomplish in order to receive some rewards. The rewards change each day, but you can potentially earn several golden hooks from the quests. Quests will usually require you to catch certain fish. It could be a boss, it could be shiny fish, or it could even be garbage that’s floating in the water. If you don’t feel like doing the quest, or if you logged into the game late and are almost out of time to complete the quest, you can hit the video button. This will play a video advertisement that will instantly complete the quest for you, allowing you to claim the reward without actually putting in any effort.

12. Try Out The VIP Mode

Amazing Fishing has a paid VIP mode where you can earn more money and play ad-free. If you are a free player, there is some good news here. You can actually try the VIP version for free for three days. Make sure you take advantage of the free three days and play as much as you can while it is active in order to maximize your benefits.

Once you are done with the free trial, it is up to you if you want to continue. If you just want to get rid of the ads, you may do so by paying $2.99. You can also get rid of all the ads by simply putting your device in airplane mode. Keep in mind, however, that doing this will also remove all the ad offers and all the benefits that come with them.
