1. Claim The Free Boxes
The more players you have, the easier it is to build a strong team. You want to collect as many cards as you can in order to ensure your victories. The good news is that there are quite a few free boxes floating around in the game. The first comes every three hours. All you have to do is log in every three hours to open a free box. The second comes every ten cumulative goals. You win a box for every ten goals you make, regardless of the number of games played. Play as many games as you can in order to unlock more of these free boxes.
2. Don’t Upgrade All Cards
The game’s matchmaking system takes two things into consideration. The first one is the level of your cards. The second is the division you are in. The game will try to match you up against someone with similar level and division. That is why you need to be careful or you will end up facing high-level players before you are ready to do so.
Your division will depend on your win rate. You earn stars whenever you win a match, and lose them whenever you are defeated. The number of stars you have collected will determine your division. Being in a high division is a good thing since it will increase the chances of getting better cards. Just keep in mind that the opponents will also be more difficult as your division gets higher. There isn’t much you can do about your division since you don’t really want to lose matches on purpose just to stay in a lower division.
The level of your cards is important since stronger cards make it more difficult for your opponents to score against your team. You just need to make sure that you only level up cards that you will be using often. Do not bother wasting resources on upgrading cards unless you are a hundred percent sure they will be used regularly on your matches. Remember, even if you don’t use the cards, their level will still be included in the matchmaking formula. Needlessly upgrading cards will raise your matchmaking level.
3. Polish Your Strategy
Since the game makes an effort to put you in matches against players with similar skill levels, you can expect that each match will be a challenge. Having high-level cards will not win the game for you. The only way to victory is through skill and strategy. Work on your plays if you want to keep winning.
One good strategy is to keep your opponent on the defensive. Attack as much as you can and don’t let your opponent get any players on the board. Put out players whenever you have the opportunity. If you can keep the other team scrambling, you will win the match for sure.
Create a balanced deck to make sure you can face any situation. Avoid using low defense units with high costs because they do nothing but waste your time and resources. It would be better if you mostly have low-cost units because it means you will be able to continuously churn out players. You just need a handful of high-cost units for those rare situations where you end up in a long match.
Preventing your opponent from putting down players is good but you also have to make sure that you keep attacking their goalkeeper. You can’t win the game if you don’t score even just one point. Attack the goalkeeper whenever you have the chance in order to secure your victory in every game.
4. Unlock More Players
Aside from the free boxes mentioned earlier, there are still a couple of other ways for you to unlock more players. The first one is to win matches. You will get a reward box whenever you win matches. That means the more you win, the more boxes you get. Another way is to buy players directly from the store. It costs a lot more to buy specific players but at least you know what you’re getting before you shell out the money. The only down side is that the store takes several hours to refresh so you will still have to wait for your player to be in stock.
5. Know Your Players
When you start collecting more players, you will eventually come to a point when you need to decide which ones to upgrade. It’s a good thing that the game gives you a preview of what each player’s evolution will be like. Take advantage of this feature in order to determine which players are worth investing in.
If you want to see the stats of a player for each level, just go to the main menu then tap on the Lineup button. Choose a player from the lineup then tap on the Info button. This will open up a new window. Just tap on the button on the upper right corner of this new window in order to see the stats of the player you chose. Use this information to plan the composition of your team in the long run. You should be able to gauge which players are worth keeping around based on this feature. Even the stats of players that you haven’t acquired are available so take advantage of it.
