Tennis Champs Returns Cheats, Tips & Tricks for Rookie Tennis Players

Uprising Games has just brought back an Amiga classic for iOS – Tennis Champs Returns. This comes about two decades after Tennis Champs and Super Tennis Champs were big hits for Amiga gamers, though Uprising claims that this new iOS version has been “remade completely” for Apple devices by the original Amiga version programmer. The game comes with all-new physics and artificial intelligence, Daily Challenges with a “mixture of modes,” career mode against a whopping 200 tennis professionals, and a lot more features that should guarantee a comprehensive tennis simulation for mobile device owners, with a strong old-school feel in terms of the graphics.

If you want to be the top tennis pro in the game, we suggest reading this list of Tennis Champs Returns tips and tricks before anything else. As this list of tips is mainly designed for beginners, we would call this a starting point, though you might be able to learn a thing or two if you’re a slightly experienced player.

1. Play The Tutorial

The game comes with a tutorial which you can either choose to play or to skip. If you skip the tutorial, you can go straight to quick game mode, or maybe to career mode, where you can start testing your mettle against AI-controlled tennis pros. Still, we suggest that you play the tutorial, as it comes with complete instructions for basics such as moving your character around or aiming the ball, as well as the different moves you can perform in the game.

2. How To Aim And Control The Ball

With a little practice, you should get the hang of this, but it is very important that you learn how to properly aim the ball and control it with your serves. That means serving the ball with the right combination of aim and power. Hold down on the button for firing a shot and wait until the two bars are almost touching each other before releasing it. The quality of your serve/shot will all depend on how close you are to the release point, as indicated on your screen.

3. How To Earn More Coins

Coins serve as the main form of currency in Tennis Champs Returns, and you can get more of these with little effort by heading to the in-app store and watching an ad video. The option to watch ads is available in the lower right corner of your screen, and once you click that option and watch the video, you’ll earn 15 coins free of charge. That will serve you well in the early goings, but might not be worth it as you progress further into career mode. That’s where you’ll earn much more coins by beating your opponents than you would by watching ad videos.

4. How To Allocate Your Skill Points

You can train your character in the game, as you gain more levels and collect more skill points. Allocating those skill points is a case-to-case basis here – you’ll need to consider what your strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies are, and focus on the areas where you believe your character needs the most improvement. Generally speaking, you should upgrade your movement skills (e.g. speed and agility) as they apply to all kinds of players.
