Guess what – we’ve got even more Sonic Runners tips and hints for you. As this is quite an elaborate endless runner game for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices, stopping at six advanced tips and six basic hints aren’t enough. In fact, we’ve got a Sonic Runners strategy guide, that you can employ if you’ve been playing this game for a while and need to further hone your game plans, or even if you’re new to the game and want to go past the learning curve.
1. Focus On Picking Up Animals, Aside From Rings
Rings are important, that’s true, but you also have to pick up animals if you really want to increase your score big-time. Rings, after all, are only worth 70 points, where animals are worth 2,500. But you have to be quick about picking up animals – you have to be fast on your feet as they won’t be there forever. It would help to have a companion like Skull Chao at your disposal, as that’ll help you gather even more animals and score more points.
2. What Happens After You Beat Eggman Thrice In Standard Runs?
You may feel like celebrating after beating Eggman a third time in a standard run – after all, this brings you up to top speed. However, bear in mind that you won’t be collecting any more rings, and you’ll be facing a lot more obstacles. That makes it highly likely that you’ll be killed at this point of the game, which makes it essential to have invincibility in place, or at the very least, a shield.
3. Watch Out For Those Traps
After you’re done completing a boost loop, there’s a good chance you’ll encounter a trap. After all, what better time is there to trap Sonic than when he’s exiting a loop at a high speed? Beware of those spikes, walls, and pits; once you exit a loop, jump right away to avoid falling into a trap.
4. You Can Only Come Back Once After Spending Five Red Star Rings
You can pay five red star rings to return to the game after you’ve died. However, you can only come back to life once per run; be very careful, because this option won’t be available if you die again, and when that does happen, you’ll lose all your power-ups.
5. Pay Attention To Route Bonuses
If you see “+50” or “+100” icons underneath the path Sonic is traveling, that’s a route bonus. Playing within the range covered by those bonuses would give you bonus points equivalent to 50 percent or 100 percent of your total score, may it be for animals or for rings.
6. Save Your Bonus Items For Harder Boss Stages
Believe it or not, but boss stages in Sonic Runners are typically a walk in the park. That’s why you should hold off on using your bonus items until you’ve reached those more difficult boss fights. Also remember that boss stages won’t count toward your score – this makes bonus items even more superfluous.
7. Don’t Rush Shooting Yourself Out Of A Cannon
There’s no time limit here, so you can use the time you spend inside the cannon to take a rest, regroup, and take the best aim possible. You can also employ this strategy if you’ve got a companion and want to collect more animals; wait inside until the animals have caught up, and your companion(s) will go ahead and collect them.
