Snail Bob 2 Guide: 4 Epic Tips & Tricks to Speed Your Way through the Game

Snail Bob 2 is a physics puzzle game developed by Andrei Kovalishin and is the iOS successor to the popular snail-based physics game of the same name. In Snail Bob 2 you have to help the titular snail get to the end of the level unharmed, using a number of cleverly designed physics-based puzzles. The levels also have additional collectables for you to find to keep you coming back for more. All levels will have three stars hidden within them, some levels will also have bonus puzzle pieces for you to find. Getting three stars on a level is a good achievement and if you have enough you will be able to advance to the next chapter of Snail Bob’s story. Also if you manage to find all the puzzle pieces in the stage then you will be gifted with additional bonus levels for you to play.

So let’s get started!

1. Think Before You Tap

The main objective of Snail Bob 2 is to get Bob to the end of the level without him being harmed by any of the obstacles in his way. Bob will keep moving and will not avoid the obstacles automatically, it is up to you to keep him safe. You can help him by controlling his movement, either by telling him to stop, or by changing his direction of travel.

The levels in Snail Bob 2 can involve a bit of thinking to get right, because there are often a number of obstacles you will have to clear out in a certain order to get Bob safely to the end of the level. Luckily, there is no time limit in Snail Bob 2, which means that you can take as long as you want to finish the level and it will have no effect on your score. This means it is good to spend a few moments planning before you send Bob on his way.

So when Bob enters the level you should stop him from moving immediately, then look around to see what obstacles lie ahead and what you need to do to clear them (and don’t forget to look for stars and puzzle pieces too). Once you are satisfied with the route you want to take, tap Bob’s shell to wake him up and get going! This way you won’t have to rush into a level without thinking, so Bob does not have to die unnecessarily.

2. Quick Fingers Can Save The Day

In Snail Bob 2 you are given 3 hearts to complete the level with, if you die then you will lose one heart. If you lose all of your hearts, then you will have to wait until they recharge before you can play any more levels. Although there is the option to watch a video and have your hearts recharged, or if you want you could also upgrade to premium. But the best strategy is to try and minimize the amount of times you die.

Snail Bob 2 comes with a reset button that allows you to attempt the level again and using this reset button will not consume any of your hearts, so you can use it as many times as you like. So if you realize that Bob is about to die, then you can quickly hit the reset button and then attempt the level again, without losing any hearts. This strategy can be a bit tricky as the button is quite small and is located in the upper right corner of the screen. Furthermore, once Bob’s death animation has started you will not be able to use the reset button to attempt the level again.

So in order not to lose any hearts you need to be very quick and always keep your eyes open so that you can hit that button at the right moment. The key is to hit the button when you know that death for Bob is inevitable, but before he actually dies. If you use the first and second tip of this guide together, then you will never have to wait for hearts to recharge again!

3. Places To Look For Hidden Stars

One of the hardest parts of Snail Bob 2 is trying to find all the stars and puzzle pieces in a level. This is because you have to juggle keeping Bob safe with keeping your eyes peeled, which is a tough task.

The first step to be able to get three stars on any level is the same as the first tip, stop Bob immediately when the level begins. This will give you a lot of time to look for stars after you have planned your route. Stars are quite tricky to find as they are hidden all over the level, and will often be hidden out of sight at first. Also note that although stars start off as yellow in the beginning, in the later levels they can change colours in order to hide in the background.

When looking for stars its always good to start at the top of the map and work your way down from there. You can move from left to right or from right to left, as long as you cover most of the area. Common places where stars are hidden in the background include: the sun, the grass, the clouds, the rocks and the shrubs. Usually these places will have at least one star in them per level.

Besides the background of the level, stars can also be hidden in the foreground as well. There is an easy way to spot a potential hiding spot for stars. Look for anything in the foreground of the level that is moving, or that sticks out from the background. These objects will usually respond to your touch and will reveal a star within them. The same also goes for puzzle pieces, but keep in mind that puzzle pieces can change colour as well, so don’t go looking only for a brown puzzle piece.

If you can’t find all the stars before you get Bob moving that is not a big problem. Often the stars will be quite well hidden, but after your eyes get used to looking at the level it will become obvious where they are located. So if you get stuck you can get Bob moving towards the exit and then stop him just before he reaches it. Then, before the level ends, you can take another long look around and see if anything new has come up. Don’t worry about taking your time, because there is no time limit at all. If you really can’t find them then don’t worry and finish the level. You don’t need to have three stars on every level to unlock the next stage.

But if you are really insistent on earning three stars for every level then there is one more trick that can be used as a last resort, that will reveal all the stars in the level. In the top left corner of the screen there is a little green icon. This icon will reveal all of the stars in the level, but it will only do so after you have watched a video. To avoid wasting too much time, this method should only be used when you are really stuck on finding those last stars. But for the majority of the levels in Snail Bob 2, the above tips will do just fine.

4. The Clothes Make The Snail

Although Bob is already quite cute, there are additional clothes that can be unlocked for him to wear. However, these will cost money to purchase, but there is a way to get them for free. If you go to the clothes shop menu there is an option to watch a video and then spin a wheel. This wheel will either award you a costume, or it will give you more hearts so that you don’t have to wait. But the wheel has a recharge timer so you won’t be able to use it constantly. This means you might have to wait a while before you are able to get your free costume.

With these tips and tricks you will be able to speed your way through Snail Bob 2!
