Sandstorm: Pirate Wars Tips & Tricks to Get More Bolts and Power Cells

Sandstorm: Pirate Wars is a new action strategy game by Ubisoft where you can challenge other Pirates, may they be your friends or other players from around the world, customize your ship with more than 100 weapons and support systems, and become the fiercest and smartest pirate in your post-apocalyptic world. Previously, we had given you a list of general tips and tricks for this new Ubisoft game, which is now available for iOS and Android devices. But there are some aspects of the game we believe should be touched on in greater detail than we did last time.

In the chaotic world that you and your fellow Pirates live in, the economy is far rougher and choppier than it ever was in documented history. That will make it hard to earn more of the game’s currencies, namely bolts and power cells. So join us as we bring you a fresh list of Sandstorm: Pirate Wars tips and tricks, this time focusing on how you can get more bolts and power cells.

1. Complete Missions At The Tavern

We already told you about the Tavern and its missions last time, but once again, we’d like to remind you that completing Tavern missions is a great means for you to earn more bolts. You may encounter more difficulty than you normally would, and you may have to head to a different zone altogether and face more enemies along the way. But the upshot is more bolts, as we said above, as well as a variety of other rewards.

2. Fight In The Pirate Arena

Fights at the Pirate Arena are another way for you to earn currency, but this time, the main currency you can earn here are power cells, the game’s premium form of currency. As such, you can expect more difficult Pirate Arena missions/fights in here, so with that in mind, you’ll want to be sure your ship has been sufficiently upgraded to prepare you for the tough task ahead.

3. Earn Bounties At The Pirate Arena

The Pirate Arena serves as Sandstorm: Pirate Wars’ MOBA aspect, and like you would in other MOBA games or titles with such an element, you’ll be ranked in leagues based on your performance. Of course, winning more battles means you’ll face tougher foes in the higher leagues. You’ll earn bolts depending on which league you had competed in, once the season has ended. The Tin league, which is the lowest, earns you 50 bolts, the Bronze league 150, the Silver league 500, the Gold league 1,500, and finally, the Platinum league can earn you a whopping 3,000 bolts if you finish a season there.

4. Don’t Spend Your Bolts For Repair

Your ships in Sandstorm: Pirate Wars repair themselves automatically, but repairs take time to complete. But you can spend bolts in order to expedite the repairs and have your ship back to perfect health immediately. We advise against doing this, as the wait time isn’t as long as you may think. For example, many have reported full repairs getting done in ten minutes!

5. Investigate Ruins And Other Points Of Interest

Points of interests may be ruins, may be ships in distress, or may be anything else unusual in the game. Go back to those points if you were there before, or simply investigate a point of interest if you see one, as you’ll invariably earn bolts for yourself.
