Push (iOS) Tips, Cheats & Tricks: How to Solve All Puzzles

Push is a casual puzzle game from Polish game developers Maciej Targoni and Michal Pawłowski, that is designed to help players relax. Available on iOS and Android platforms, Push focuses on simple puzzle-solving mechanics. There are no scores, ratings, or any competitive play. It also mysteriously just gives you generic instructions on how to play. You just need to push all the buttons. What that means in terms of solving the puzzle is up to you to figure out. Part of the experience is figuring out what the puzzle really is. Unlike most other puzzle games, however, you will not be tempted to pull your hair out in frustration. Spending hours just pressing buttons on this game is surprisingly calming. It is like a fidget spinner for your brain. Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t need to solve all the puzzles eventually. That is why our Push strategy guide is here to help you conquer all of them!

1. Start With Basic Shapes

If you see buttons that are empty, or those with basic shapes such as circles, squares, or triangles, make sure you push them in groups. For example, if a puzzle has several empty buttons, make sure you press all the empty buttons before you press other types of buttons. Most of the time, you will be able to see all the buttons of the same basic shape. There will be times, however, when one or two buttons from the same group are hidden in another panel of the puzzle. If you have pressed all the buttons of one shape and find yourself failing, try to press one of the black or white buttons to reveal hidden dimensions. You might find your missing button there.

2. Dotted Buttons

The buttons that a have dots on them are numbered buttons. You will need to press them in ascending order to clear them. If there are multiple buttons with the same number of dots, you will need to press all of those before moving on to the next number. For example, if you see three buttons with one dot, and three buttons with two dots, you will need to press all of the single-dot buttons first before you press any of the two-dot buttons. If there is a number missing in the series, don’t worry. You can just skip it. What matters is the order of the existing numbers.

3. Buttons With Lines

Lines also represent numbers the same way dots do. The difference lies in how you solve the puzzles with them. If solving dotted buttons mean pressing them in ascending order, you need to solve buttons with lines by pressing them in descending order. That means starting with the highest numbers and working your way to the lowest ones.

4. Puzzle Piece Buttons

These buttons can be a slightly more confusing than others because they require that you press them in pairs. You will need to analyze the puzzle pieces in order to figure out what their pairs are. You only need to press two of these at a time, so it’s just a matter of finding matching buttons to press. Just carefully look at the edges of each puzzle piece then find another button that matches the same patterns.

5. Arrow Buttons

Buttons with arrows are even more complicated to solve. You will need to pay close attention to the entire puzzle to figure out what to press next. The arrows will tell you which button to press next. The first button to press is the arrow with a line underneath it. If an arrow points in a certain direction, you just need to follow it and press the first button you encounter. If it points in a direction that goes outside the puzzle, imagine its path if it were to wrap around the puzzle. Buttons that have double arrows on them mean you are supposed to skip the next button but still follow its direction. That means if you press a double arrow that is pointing towards the left, and to the left of it is an arrow pointing upwards, you will skip that button and instead press the one above it.

6. Special Switches

There are buttons in the game that act as switches. They influence other parts of the puzzle, so make sure you know what they are for before messing with them. Pink-colored buttons rotate the puzzle while red ones rotate cubes on the surface of the puzzle. Red buttons with arrows on them will push cubes in the direction they are pointing. Switches, on the other hand, push pieces together or apart. If you are having trouble figuring out the next step in the puzzle, you might need to look for these special buttons to reveal your next step.
