Is it Love? Blue Swan Hospital is the latest release in 1492 Studio’s popular Is it Love series. The series is known for interactive love stories where players can choose their own path. Available on Android and iOS platforms, the game puts you in the shoes of a new doctor who is about to start her first day at the prestigious Blue Swan Hospital. As luck would have it, a major accident greets your character even before she sets foot inside the hospital building.

From this point on, you will have to make a series of decisions in order to progress in the story. Some of the choices you make will have an impact on your career, your love life, and the outcome of your story. There are a lot of important decisions to be made inside the hospital. 1. Choose Your Name Wisely

The game will take quite a long time to play, especially if you don’t spend real money on energy. Throughout the story, you will not be allowed to change your character’s name. Keep this in mind when you are asked for your first and last name at the beginning. It may seem funny at first but being called Doctor Smart E. Pants gets old after a while. Characters in the game will also be referring to you quite often, so choose a name that you won’t mind keeping throughout the story.

2. Link Your Facebook Account

This is the second major decision that you need to make even before you begin the story. You have the option to close out the window that asks you to link your Facebook account, but it would be better if you go through with it. The game will take you several days to play to the end. If you are a completist, it will take even longer to unlock all the hidden scenes. You will lose all your progress if you accidentally uninstall the game or if you lose your device. The only way to continue where you left off is by making sure your progress is saved. That is why it is important to link your Facebook account right from the start.

3. Claim Your Freebies

During the introduction, where you are asked to enter your first and last name, you will be given an overview of how the game works. Pay attention because you might be confused later on. After sitting through the introduction, the nice doctor will give you 1000 energy points to help you start off your story. It may sound like a lot, but you will quickly burn through that even before the first chapter ends. The good news is that there are other sources of energy that you can take advantage of.

The first one is hidden in the energy store. Just tap on the menu button at the top right to expand it, then tap on the Energy button. This will take you to the in-game store where you can purchase additional energy. You will notice that the biggest option here is labeled FREE. Tap on it in order to get 600 energy without having to spend anything.

Another source of extra energy is by accepting the ad offers. When you play the game, you will notice a yellow bottle with a film strip on the left side of the screen. Tap on it and you will be offered 20 to 50 energy in exchange for watching a video advertisement. After watching the ad, the offer will go on cooldown for 6 hours. Make sure you check back every 6 hours to take advantage of the ad offer. You can turn on push notifications, so you will know as soon as the offer is available again.

4. Play The Mini Game

As we mentioned before, burning through 1000 energy points is pretty easy in the game. That’s because it will cost you 10 energy for every line of dialogue in the game. Every time you see those little white hearts that go around in a circle on the right side of the screen, you are spending 10 energy. On top of that, you only get 300 energy for free each day. Unlike other games where your energy recharges every few minutes, your energy in this game stays at zero until the day resets. That means you will not be able to play any more unless you purchase more energy with real money or find some other energy source.

That is where the mini game comes in. You can win up to 100 energy points each day by playing the mini game. Just go to the menu and tap on the mini game button to start. It is easy enough to play, but it involves a bit of luck and requires some guts. You are given a set of five cards with vital signs. One of these cards has a flat line. Your goal is to open as many cards as you can without opening the flat line. You have the option to cash in your winnings after each card you open. Don’t forget to boost your mini game earnings as well by accepting the ad offer at the end.

5. Timed Choices Matter

Is it Love? Blue Swan Hospital is all about the choices that you make, but not all of them have significant impact on the story. In fact, a lot of the decisions you make are purely for roleplaying purposes. Your character will often end up in the same situation or will react the same way. Don’t bother trying to make a good impression on Doctor Camilla Cresset on your first day. She will hate you on the onset no matter which options you choose.

The decisions that do matter, however, are those that give you limited time to respond. Make sure you think carefully before making a choice in these situations because it will have an actual impact on the game. You may be able to unlock hidden scenes or lose your chance to view them altogether. The good news is that you can replay any chapter and follow a different path in case you make a mistake. It is actually necessary to replay the chapters several times if you want to be able to unlock all of the hidden scenes. Keep in mind, though, that you will still be spending 10 energy per line of dialogue even if you are just replaying a chapter.
