Haunt the House: Terrortown Tips, Cheats & Strategies to Haunt Your Way Through the Town

Haunt The House: Terrortown, which was developed by SFB Games, has just gotten updated in time for Halloween, so we thoughts it’s a good time to share some tips and tricks for this game. Instead of the usual horror or supernatural-themed games where you play a human battling against the unknown, you’re a ghost in here, and your objective is to haunt your way through a town in the dead of night. You can possess objects, scare people away from different places, and overall “reclaim what has been lost before the night is over.” In terms of mechanics, this can be considered a cross between an action and puzzle game, and while this all makes for a very interesting premise, there is one drawback to the game – it doesn’t come free, costing $1.99 on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

If you’ve purchased this game or are planning to, you might be wanting to play it in the spirit of the season, no pun intended. Our exclusive list of Haunt the House: Terrortown tips, cheats and strategies is one thing you’ll want to check out before you play – these hints are here to help you be the best, meaning spookiest ghost you can possibly be.

1. Use Small Taps To Move Around

When moving around in Haunt the House, you should practice making smaller movements by making smaller taps on your phone’s screen. This is especially useful in smaller areas, as it allows you to get a feel for the area without creating much of a fuss. You can, however, hold down on your screen to move from one scene to another in almost no time at all.

2. How To Take The Form Of A Deceased Person

This is one of the first cool things you’ll get to do in this game, and you can do this by possessing one of the bells in the clock tower. Dead people take residence in these bells, and when you possess them, you can take a dead person’s form.

3. Look At The Bottom Icons

Now, that you’re all ready for some haunting, you’ll want to haunt the right way. The most fundamental thing to remember here is to look at the lower right hand icon on your display. This will tell you which objects you can possess, and why you should possess them – remember that the humans in this game fear different things. The general rule here, though, is that you can possess any named item.

Additionally, you’ll see a “Move” icon on the bottom of your screen if you can move an object while you’re possessing it. It’s also fine to tap on either side of your screen, and some say this is more effective in scaring the you-know-what out of the game’s humans.

4. About Your Spirit Meter

As you scare more people and sow more terror as a ghost, your spirit meter will keep filling up. And as your spirit meter moves closer to its limit, you’ll also be able to haunt much better; take advantage of such a situation by going full-on with your haunting.

5. Spook Humans By Repeating Actions

Think of how you would react if you were in the humans’ place – you are one, after all. Would you be spooked out if your blinds rattled once? You probably won’t, even while watching a horror flick; you’d likely conclude that the winds are picking up outside and you’d go about your regular business. Keeping that in mind as you play as a ghost, try repeating actions to legitimately scare a person. If it doesn’t work the first time, then it might work the second, third, or fourth time around.

6. Some People Are Just That Difficult To Scare

Once again using a real-life parallel, there are people who scare easily, and there are those who are so jaded or tough about things that they won’t be spooked out even by something that’s legitimately scary. Ironically, it’s the young children who are harder to scare in this game, but regardless whether that’s true in real life or not, always remember that some people are just that hard to scare. Aside from trying actions multiple times, you can also use different actions if the first one just isn’t working.

7. Don’t Be Afraid To Kill

All of the areas in Haunt the House have at least one character whom you can kill. These are characters who typically stand their ground in one place, thus making them sitting ducks for you. You can kill them by means of a nearby object, though you’ll be far more efficient if you do this with your spirit meter full.

8. Don’t Stop Chasing Others

Other humans will try to run from room to room in hopes that they’d lose you. Or probably they may not realize that you’re haunting them. Whatever the case is, stick to what we said earlier – keep trying new techniques until they’re legitimately scared enough to run away for good.
