Flappy Bird Cheats, Tips & Tricks to Get a High Score

Yes, we are aware that Flappy Bird has not been available on either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for more than a year now, but we’re sure a lot of you still have the game on your devices. But before we get to our list of Flappy Bird tips and tricks, here’s a bit of a refresher on what happened – after it became a runaway hit for iOS and Android users alike, eccentric, reclusive developer Dong Nguyen quickly had Flappy Bird pulled from both App Store and Play Store. And it was all because the game was so popular – people of all ages tried to get the highest possible score and make the titular Flappy Bird go through as many pipes as possible. So how do you do that, and how do you beat your high score or that of others? We’re here to show you how.

1. Relaxation Is Key

Flappy Bird is a game that tests your focus, and with that having been said, it’s extremely important that you chill as much as possible and don’t let those low scores get you down. Playing when frustrated will only have you registering low score after low score, and having your bird keep bumping into those pipes. We’re sure you already know this, but once your bird hits an obstacle, that’s it – game over, you’ll have to start from square one.

2. Focus On Double Tapping Techniques

When we say this, we mean tapping once to go in between the pipes, and tapping at the right time to ensure you’re in good position to go through the next. It all goes back to the first tip when it comes to pulling this technique off successfully – tap in a gentle, relaxed manner, because tapping too hard will have you overshooting your target and ending your game.

3. Keep Your Phone In Silent Mode, And Play In Silence

Some players prefer to have the sound on when playing Flappy Bird, but we personally believe that it’s best to play the game on silent mode. Apart from that, it’s also a good idea to play in an area where you know no one can distract you, say, in the comfort of your room with the door closed. As long as you aren’t putting more important tasks aside to play Flappy Bird, silence is your best friend.

4. Keep Your Bird In The Middle Of The Screen

Now, that you know that double-tapping can help you clear more pipes, this next tip will tell you where to keep your bird – right in the middle. Well, maybe not exactly in the middle, but trying to fly in the middle as much as possible gives you the perfect balance, allowing you to ascend or descend with less chance of over- or under-shooting.

5. Learn How To Fall Properly

This would mean letting your bird fall by lifting your finger off the display, but don’t overdo it – you should also practice how to tap when you’re low enough, so that way, you can allow for enough momentum to get your bird through the pipes without ending your game. In other words, it would be best to tap on the display again just a fraction of a second before the bird hits the bottom pipe.
