FIFA Mobile Tips, Cheats & Guide for Running a Top-Notch Soccer Club

If the game FIFA Mobile may sound familiar to you, that’s because it’s the very same game that used to be known as FIFA Ultimate Team. EA Sports has re-launched the game for Android and iOS, and just as you previously could, you can build your team, manage it, compete in head-to-head battles, and enjoy the game anywhere on your mobile device, due to its rather compact 100MB size. There are more than 30 different leagues, 650 teams, and 17,000 players – all real-life players from the world of association football/soccer, and you can play the transfer market to add new players to your team, while setting up your formations and adjusting your tactics prior to each match. There are also live events where you can earn freebies for your team. All in all, it’s very similar to the FIFA Ultimate Team you used to know, but with several new features.

We already covered FIFA Ultimate Team in a number of guides, but given the new features and the fact that it’s been a while since we covered the original game, we’ve compiled a list of tips and combined them in this FIFA Mobile strategy guide. We’ll be discussing general tips and tricks, so read on, especially if you’re new to EA’s FIFA games for mobile.

1. Monitor The Live Events

Want more coins to spend in the game? Go participate in the Live Events, and take advantage of your First Win rewards, which could allow you to win a ton of coins. You can also win cards for plans, thus allowing you to make your team even better. Check the map carefully, as the Live Events are often conveniently hidden; also replay the Live Events that can be replayed, as the game does allow you to grind for coins and other rewards, though not all the time.

2. You Don’t Need To Use Everyone On Your Team

One of the changes on FIFA Mobile from FIFA Ultimate Team is the requirement of having to fill all the possible positions. That means a total of 27 players – that’s far more than the 11 players you need for your starting lineup, so you may need to be patient. Then again, you don’t need to use all those 27 players, which means you can just focus on your top eleven based on your desired formation. Don’t bite off more than you can chew by trying to come up with a strong lineup across the board; your starting lineup may suffer in the process.

3. Stick To Your Chosen Formation

You may be thinking of using different formations and tactics, with the concept of trial and error in mind, or a desire to throw off your opponents by changing things up from time to time. But it’s actually a better idea to use the same formation and tactic once you’ve found something that works for you. This minimizes the work involved when trying to form the perfect team, and increases your chances of winning more games.

4. Why Should You Play Attack Mode?

Attack Mode is one of the best-reviewed game modes or features in FIFA Mobile. It lets you take on that other kind of “real” players – human-controlled teams from around the globe – in turn-based soccer action. Now this isn’t exactly the mechanic you may know and love from EA’s FIFA games for other platforms, but the fact that you’re taking on human players is a good enough selling point as it is. You may need to be patient, though, as there seems to be a high percentage of human players who don’t respond to challenges.

Attack Mode gives each player four turns each, and if you’re able to beat your opponent, you can get a ton of rewards, and gain those all-important fans for your club. You can still gain fans if you lose, as fans are awarded regardless of the result, just as long as you perform well in the game and score lots of goals. You’ll also have to be prepared, as Attack Mode is a faster-paced mode than classic FIFA Mobile. But since the rewards in the form of coins and fans can be quite attractive, you should give this mode a try and make sure to challenge those with lower team ratings than yours for best chances of winning.

5. Choose Your Preferred Control Mode

FIFA Mobile comes with different ways for you to control your players. You can swipe your finger across your device’s screen to pass the ball and shoot it, and that’s oftentimes a good way of playing the game. There’s also a virtual joystick that works well in certain situations, and we haven’t heard too many complaints about it. You can use either method exclusively, or you can combine both methods. Combining control modes can be a good idea, as some have experienced success using the swiping mechanic for passing and the joystick for shooting. But whatever your choice is, you should go with the option (or mix of options) where you are the most comfortable.

6. Join A League Once You Reach Level 5

You’ll want to see how well your team can perform against others. In order to do that, you should join a league, which will be available to you once you reach level 5. It’s advisable to find a league ASAP, though at this point, a lot of leagues are maxed out and don’t have any more invitations for new players. Keeping this in mind, you should try your luck with as many leagues as possible, with the limit being five leagues applied for within five minutes. That should increase your chances of finding an open league, and hopefully you’ll be accepted into one where the players are active and quite challenging to take on.

7. Get Some Great Players In The Transfer Market

At the moment, the Market is proving to be quite effective when it comes to picking up some high-level players. That may be because the game has just been rolled out, and for the meantime, you should take advantage of the game’s newness by checking your options in the Market. As of now, it’s still fairly easy to pay only about 800 coins for players rated at 70 and above. So how can you search the Market for those quality players you need?

We suggest configuring your search filter in such a way that you only get players rated 70 and above, and have a Buy Now price ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 coins. You might not get anyone at first, but if you continue refreshing and be patient, you won’t have much of a problem getting some great players for your team. You can also adjust your filter so that you can target players at a specific position, or choose a specific player.

The bottom line is that you should never pass up an opportunity to get a great player at a bargain price, unless you’re stacked at the position he’s playing.

8. Let The AI Do The Playing In Select Games

Although you might want to challenge yourself on the pitch like you do when choosing your team, formation, and tactics, it really isn’t necessary to play all of the games. But what about that thing we keep warning you about, namely that warning about computer AI being too simplistic? Yes, we agree – the AI in FIFA Mobile can be quite simplistic. And that’s why we suggest you only let the AI play the games when you’re up against a cupcake opponent. You can also let the AI take aim during Attack Mode, as it can be surprisingly accurate when taking shots in this game mode.

9. Complete Those Plans

FIFA Mobile comes with a good number of plans which you can complete, and completing them would reward you with some rare and talented players, among other things. Given the quality of those rewards, it won’t be easy at all to complete the plans, but if you’re able to get your act together and complete them, you can repeat them and get more top players or sell them for coins, which you can then use in the latter parts of the game to buy even better players and make your team considerably better.
