Dungeons & Dragons Heading to Mobile Devices in the Form of ‘Warriors of Waterdeep’

Wizards of the Coast and Ludia have just announced the launch of Warriors of Waterdeep, an upcoming mobile Dungeons & Dragons title for both iOS and Android platforms.

Thought out to be a free-to-play turn-based RPG, Warriors of Waterdeep will feature various Dungeons & Dragons characters that players are already familiar with. The game is scheduled to soft-launch as a CBT this spring, followed by a global release later this year.

The result of the collaboration between Ludia and Wizards of the Coast, Warriors of Waterdeep will allow players to choose their character. There will be 12 classes and nine races available in the game. As of now, the roster includes:

Raika – Half-orc Barbarian

Shevarith – Human Wizard

Naomlen – Dwarf Rogue

Halbenet – Elf Cleric

Farideh – Tiefling Warlock

Tommus – Halfling Fighter

Saarvin – Dragonborn Ranger

Apart from running the in-game shop, familiar characters such as Larael Silverhand or Durnan will assign you quests.

The card trades will be run by Mirt the Moneylender. You will be able to merge duplicate cards and obtain better effects or you can trade them for new ones. The card packs can be bought in-game or can be won by completing quests or defeating bosses. The cards can be used to upgrade characters. Characters will have up to 6 weapons, 4 wondrous items, 4 class items, and 12 pieces of armour. Apart from fighting dragons and ogres, players will be able to make choices that will affect the course of the action.

Once the CBT for Warriors of Waterdeep launches this spring, we are sure that more info will become available. In the meantime, you can use this link to pre-register for the game.
