Color Ballz (Ketchapp) Cheats, Tips & Tricks: How to Get a High Score

Color Ballz is a quirky new arcade game from Ketchapp, which is now available for mobile devices. When you start the game, you will see a weird device that has balls funneled down to a tube on one side, and another tube with a propeller at the bottom on the other side. On the lower part of the screen is a short white line that serves as your paddle. The goal of the game is to get as many points as possible by continuously making the balls cycle through the contraption. The calls will come out of the tube on the left then you will need to use the white paddle to make them bounce over to the tube on the right. The propeller will shoot the ball back to the top of the funnel. The game could potentially go on forever if you are good enough. Read our list of Color Ballz cheats, tips and tricks so you can keep those balls going!

1. Watch Out For Power Ups

As you play Color Ballz, you will notice some icons pop up from time to time. These icons are actually power ups. If you can get the balls to pass through the power ups, their effects will be activated. There are three different power ups available. Keep an eye out for these so you can get even more points for successfully sending balls to the other side.

The first power up is the Color Up. It looks like a circle with two carets inside, flashing in different colors. The power up starts with a green circle and it will slowly turn grey. You can send as many balls through this icon as you want. Just don’t forget that it will disappear once the green circle runs out. The Color Up effect transforms each ball that passes through it to the next level of color. For example, if a basic white ball passes through, it will turn yellow. Yellow balls are worth 2 points instead of 1. If a yellow ball passes through, it will turn green which is worth 3 points each. The ball progression is shown below.

White – 1 point
Yellow – 2 points
Green – 3 points
Teal – 4 points
Blue – 5 points
Purple – 6 points
Red – 7 points

The second power up is the Expand. It will double the size of any ball that passes through it. A ball that has been doubled in size is easier to hit, and it also awards twice the number of points. For example, an expanded white ball will be worth two points while an expanded red ball will be worth a whopping 14 points apiece. Keep in mind that this power up will only affect one ball before it disappears. If you can, try to send high-value balls through it.

Last on the list is the Extra power up. It is a simple white circle with a plus sign in the middle. It also has the green countdown circle around it which means you can send as many balls through it as you can within the time limit. It multiplies the balls that it affects which allows you to stay in the game longer. The extra balls will always be white regardless of the color of the ball you sent through. It will, however, retain the size of the ball you sent through. Try to send expanded balls through the Extra power up if you can.

2. Save Your Balls

The point of the game is to keep the balls in play. The balls are essentially your life points while playing. It is better for you to be able to play longer than to get quick bursts in points. What that means is that you should prioritize saving every ball from falling over getting power ups. If it happens that you see a power up that is about to expire and you also have a ball that is about to fall, you should choose the ball. There will be other chances to get power ups later on if you stay in play.

If it comes to the point that you have multiple balls falling, you should choose to save more balls, regardless of their color. That means you should save three white balls over one red ball, even if the latter is worth more points than the three combined. Again, this goes back to the goal of staying alive for as long as you can. You can easily make up for the lost red ball if you stick around long enough.

3. How To Choose Power Ups

All three power ups are useful but knowing how to use them together can make a huge difference in your score. One thing you should consider is how each power up expires. Color Up will stay on screen for nine seconds while the Extra power up will only be around for five seconds. Expand does not expire until a ball goes through it. With that in mind, you should prioritize the Extra power up since it will only be available for a short time. You should also go for Color Up right away before it disappears. For the Expand power up, try to aim around it until you have a high-value ball to enlarge.

4. Just Aim Right

Since you are juggling balls, it is an understandable for you to worry about the balls bouncing off the tube on the right instead of going through the propeller. The good news is that the physics in this game is slightly different. Once you get the balls to bounce towards the right tube, they lose their bounce. That means all you have to worry about is to get them to bounce far enough to hit the right tube. They won’t bounce back towards the left and will automatically go through the propeller and into the tube. So, once you have hit the ball towards the right side and you are confident that it will travel far enough to hit the right tube, you can move on to catch the next ball.

Catching and bouncing balls is fun but it can also be challenging. Make sure you follow our Color Ballz strategy guide to help you get high scores!
