1. Use Different Equipment

One of the things that separates Chronoblade from its competition is its equipment system. Your gear is divided into sets for each character. Each set, however, has its own advantages and disadvantages. Just because a certain set is new does not mean it is the best. Make sure you check the stats of the equipment you are using. Depending on the situation, you may need to revert to older sets in order to maximize your combat potential.

A good example of this is Aurok’s Bestla Set which he gets by default. It has Earth affinity which gives him Earth critical damage and resist. The next set you will get is the Gyalp Set which is more balanced, with lower Earth affinity but adds a bit of Water and Fire into the mix. Check the elements of the enemies you will encounter before entering a map. If there are a lot of Earth monsters, then use Bestla. If there are different types of monsters, then settle for Gyalp. Always change your equipment according to the enemies you will be going up against.

2. Always Spend All Your Skill Points

Skills help your character clear maps more quickly. The stronger your skills are, the easier your life will be in Chronoblade. You will need skill points and gold if you want to upgrade your skills. The good news is that skill points are generated for free over time. Unfortunately, you will stop generating skill points once you have 10 unused points. Make sure you always use up all your points as soon as you see they are available. This is to ensure you don’t miss out on any generated points. Another thing to remember here is that points are shared among your characters. Prioritize your favorite character when it comes to skill upgrades.

Another thing you should keep in mind when it comes to upgrading skills is that you should prioritize skills that you need. You won’t be able to take all your skills into battle, so you should focus your resources on the ones you will use often. The right skills will depend on your play style, so you may want to try out a few things before deciding. For example, Aurok is relatively slow but he is a hard hitter. You will want a skill that can close the gap between him and his opponents. Invest in the grappling hook move so you can drag enemies towards him. Follow it up with the stone splitter and you will have a lot of dead bodies on your hands.

3. Complete Your Quests

Crystals are important resources in this game. If you want to earn a lot of it for free, you need to work on your quests. Just head into the main menu to see which quests are available. There are different types of quests. Campaign quests are the easiest ones since they are completed by simply going through the main story. Daily quests will give you routine tasks that you need to accomplish every day. These do not reward you with crystals, but you do get a lot of experience and gold for your efforts. On top of that, daily quests help make sure you don’t overlook any of the things you need to do for the day.

4. Master The Unblockable Attacks

Each character has his own list of attacks. When you go through these lists, you will notice a few of them have a broken red shield. That means they are unblockable moves. As the name suggests, these are moves that your opponents cannot guard against. They break through an opponent’s shield and deal massive damage. Learn how to execute these moves as they will come in handy in battle. Unblockable moves usually involve holding down your heavy attack or guarding then quickly following up with a light attack.

Keep in mind that unblockable moves can be used by opponents as well. Bosses, in particular, will often use unblockables. You will know when such a move is coming when you see a red zone appear. You will have a couple of seconds to get out of the red zone or you will take a lot of damage. Double tap the guard button when you are in the red zone as it will let you perform a dodge maneuver, allowing you to escape the attack without manually walking out of the way. Also, keep an eye on your character even when in auto-play mode. The game’s AI does not care about the red zone and stay take the hit as long as he can stay where he wants.

5. Use Jump and Block Strategically

Blocking and jumping are great on their own, but they can be extremely useful when it comes to cancelling animations. Doing so will allow you to deliver attacks more effectively or avoid getting hit at the last second. Practice the timing of your jumps and blocks in order to master these skills. They will come in handy during campaign battles and even more so in PVP matches.

If you want to perform an air combo, jump cancel is the way to go. This is a good approach to any battle since opponents will have a tougher time reaching you when you are airborne. Another use for the jump cancel is to stop a long heavy attack animation. Some heavy attacks take too long to complete. If you are in the middle of the animation and realize that your enemy will hit you first, cancel the move by jumping.

You can also cancel attack animations by blocking. Since there will be a lot of punches thrown in the heat of battle, it will often happen that you will accidentally run into an enemy attack. To stop your attack animation at the last second, quickly hit the block button. Blocking can also be used when you are on the offensive. Weave in a few blocks into your combos to keep long animation attacks from taking up too much time.

6. Avoid Getting Hit

Since you are not immortal, it is only natural for you to want to avoid getting hit. However, there is another reason for you to get hit in this game. If you manage to land 10 attacks without taking any damage, your character will go into Hyper Move mode. When Hyper Move is active, your attacks will deal more damage. This damage is boosted even more after landing 30 attacks without getting hit. Keep in mind that the Hyper Move bonus will disappear as soon as you take a single hit, regardless of the amount of damage. You will then have to start over in order to activate it again. Try to sustain the Hyper Move bonus for as long as you can. This will make quick work of even the toughest Bosses.

7. How To Beat Bosses

When you encounter a Boss, you will notice that there are a bunch of minions around him. Make sure you eliminate the minions first before you take on the actual Boss. Leaving them alive will increase the chances of you getting hit. As we mentioned above, it only takes one hit to cancel your Hyper Move bonus. Make sure you kill all the minions right away, so you can focus on sustaining your Hyper Move bonus against the Boss.

8. Spam Your Special Moves

Special moves deal more damage than normal attacks. The only catch is that they go on cooldown for 10 to 15 seconds. That does not mean you should minimize their use, however. In fact, it is better if you spam them as soon as they are available. Your goal in this game is to clear dungeons as quickly as possible in order to earn more stars. You get better rewards when you earn more stars from a dungeon, so don’t be afraid to use your special moves.

9. Beware Of Corners

Your best line of defense is this game is mobility. Make sure you always have plenty of space to move around in during battle. Do not let your opponents back you into the corner because that will almost certainly spell your doom. Of course, it is a good idea to push your opponent into a corner. You will be able to land more blows successfully since they won’t have anywhere else to go. Always be conscious of your position on the map and adjust accordingly in order to turn the tides in your favor.

10. Upgrade Your Equipment

Just because your equipment have fixed sets does not mean you should leave them alone. You can improve your equipment further through different ways such as promoting, leveling up, and crafting upgrades. Use experience potions to level up your equipment. You can get these from combat. As for promoting, you can do so with the use of coins that you pick up from each stage. Finally, make sure you collect equipment scraps in order to craft upgrades for your sets.

Doing all these will increase your HP, weapon damage, mana, and mana regeneration. Try to upgrade as much as you can in order to maximize your combat power. Since upgrading your equipment sets cost resources, you might not be able to afford to invest in all of your sets. Just focus your resources on two versatile sets in order to save on resources.

11. Use Auto-Play For Grinding

Much of your time spent in Chronoblade will be used on grinding. You will need to regularly return to earlier stages in order to farm resources. Auto-play comes in handy in this situation. If you are confident that your character can survive a dungeon even if he is on auto-play, then just have him farm while you go AFK. It is also useful for depleting your energy when you are about to log off from the game. Energy regenerates over time, so if it is sitting at full when you log off, you are essentially wasting energy.

12. Look For The Red Dot

The game is kind enough to tell you when something is ready to be upgraded or leveled up. You will see a red dot on the part of the menu that has an upgrade waiting. When you are grinding dungeons, it is easy to miss these red dots. Always take time to check for the red dot in between dungeons to make sure you are in top fighting shape.

13. Unlock The Free Chests

There are a lot of freebies available in Chronoblade, if you only know where to look. The store is one place that you should look into often. You will get a free chest every five minutes. Free chests contain minor equipment shards, experience points, and some crafting materials. On top of that, you also get a free crystal chest every 24 hours. Since crystals are hard to come by without spending real money, take advantage of this chest and check back every 24 hours even if you don’t have time to play.

Since you are already in the store, don’t forget to check for any special offers. You will often find special offers available that can be bought using crystals. Make sure you take these offers whenever they are available. Buying special offers is the only acceptable use for crystals in this game. Don’t bother with anything else.
