BitLife Slice & Dice Challenge Guide: How to Complete the Slice & Dice Challenge

If you’re wondering how a five-year-old game for iOS and Android devices remains so popular to this day, the answer is easy — player engagement. BitLife has been addressing this for most of its existence already, and developers Candywriter can’t seem to run out of creative ideas for the weekly BItLife challenges. Some have been based on real-life people and events, but sometimes, the challenge has no specific inspiration — just the usual four to six requirements based on an original theme.

BitLife is back to classic challenges for this one, and just as it is in many of these no-specific-pop-culture-connection challenges, it’s very heavy on the grinding and not at all easy to complete compared to the ones we’ve finished over the past few weeks. The Slice & Dice Challenge doesn’t just require you to kill somebody — in fact, you need to do so with a certain weapon purchased via the Arms Dealer. You’ll also need to make the most out of your weapon collection when you aren’t trying to outright kill your target.

That’s what the challenge is all about, and if you’re having some trouble completing it before it gets moved to the Challenge Vault, we suggest checking this week’s BitLife mini-strategy guide. We’ve got all there is to cover when trying to finish the Slice & Dice Challenge as quickly as possible.

Create a Character with Crime as a Special Talent and Natural Athleticism

There’s nothing to it when it comes to creating a character for the Slice & Dice Challenge as far as the requirements are concerned — just create a male character born in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, or Austin — at the moment, these are the four Texas cities available in BitLife. However, to make challenge completion easier, we would strongly advise you to choose Crime as your Special Talent. Those with this special skill inflict more damage in attacks and can even kill people as part of these attacks, and are less likely than others to get into trouble with the police.

In addition to having Crime as a Special Talent, you may also want to re-roll until you get a character with good Athleticism. Just speed-run your age 0 to 10 years, and when you enter middle school at age 11, check the Athleticism bar while trying out for sports. If your Athleticism bar is filled up to the 70 percent mark, you have a good chance at making the team, and if you keep training to improve your Athleticism and performance, you may likely be a first-round pick in the making — more skills equals more money in BitLife!

When choosing a sport, we suggest Basketball and Football, as these are the two highest-paying sports in the game — many Arms Dealer weapons cost an arm and a leg, so to afford them, take your sporting career seriously so you can be making millions by the time you reach your early-to-mid 20s!

Pick Your Battles When Buying Weapons

When purchasing weapons at the Arms Dealer, you don’t need to be picky except for the very last weapon — the katana that you’ll need to kill one of the people you attack. If you’re outbid for an especially cheap item, it’s best to leave the higher bidder alone and not attack them.

But if you’ve already got a lot of money on you and are trying to buy one of the more expensive items available, it might not hurt to get into the occasional scrap for you to win the bidding. At any rate, your goal here is to buy at least five as part of the Slice & Dice Challenge.

On the other hand, is it worth it to go on the attack if you’re outbid by someone? If you were doing so to attack more people with your purchased weapons, there’s a good chance you may have been wasting your time.

What Counts as an Attack with a Purchased Weapon?

The Slice & Dice Challenge’s requirements state that you need to attack at least five individuals with a weapon you purchased from the Arms Dealer. But what type of attacks count in such a situation?

Attacking other buyers at the various Black Market stores does not count — you may have tried at least a few times to attack potential buyers who may have outbid you, but no matter how often we tried this in our play-through, it just didn’t seem to count, even if the attack was successful (i.e. no retaliation, buyer withdraws their bid). What does seem to count, though, are attacks against people who may be talking trash at you or getting aggressive.

This is where the sporting career comes in, as there’s bound to be a random situation every couple of years or so where an opponent talks trash. Of course, attacking them is always an option, and if you choose to do so, you will now be allowed to choose one of the weapons you purchased. Again, the attack needs to be successful, so if your target fights back or if the attack lands you behind bars, it won’t count toward the five.

In theory, going to the club and attacking patrons who insulted you or someone else would also count toward the five attacks. However, BitLife appears to have temporarily decreased the chances of club fisticuffs — it’s not a BitLife challenge without Candywriter subtly making it a bit harder by reducing the chances of certain requirement-related events!

The Game Also Makes it Harder for You to Purchase a Katana

We can’t fault anybody for thinking that the katana is one of the more common weapons found in the Arms Dealer’s storefront. Usually, it is a common weapon, though not as common as the Slingshot, Shuriken, and many other smaller weapons. But for the Slice & Dice Challenge, its frequency has again been temporarily nerfed, so you may need to grind it out a bit and do your fair share of quitting and restarting before you see the katana pop up among the weapon choices.

Specifically, the weapon you want to buy is a Masamune Katana, and we would suggest trying to outbid other potential buyers instead of resorting to violence. Doing the latter will likely get you kicked out of the store if the buyer fights back. As for the former, safer option, the risk here is that the seller would get suspicious of your high and frequent bids and throw you out for looking too eager.

Still, that isn’t as common as losing a battle against another buyer, and that too comes with the additional risk of serious injuries — or even death if your Health bar is quite far removed from 100 percent during particularly vicious attacks!

It Takes Patience to Kill Characters With Rare and Deadly Weapons

Although you would be right in guessing that you need to use the katana whenever and wherever possible once you’ve acquired it, even those with Crime as a Special Talent might find it hard to kill their targets.

Aiming for the character’s throat, groin, skull, or other sensitive body parts could help you inflict a lot of damage, but doing the dirty deed might be harder than usual here — the same old BitLife nerfs that add spice to the weekly challenges. Just be patient and keep using the katana when attacking people and you’ll get the first and only kill you’ll need for the Slice & Dice Challenge.

The last requirement in the Slice & Dice Challenge is very simple and straightforward, so if you’ve already killed someone with your Black Market weapons, you can sell the murder weapon in question and knock off the last requirement, thus giving you the usual chance to unlock a new hat or eyewear.
