BitLife Deliverance Challenge Guide: How to Complete the Deliverance Challenge

BitLife’s Challenge feature has arguably been the main reason why iOS and Android users alike keep coming back to the life simulator game, and we completely understand why. Instead of living your best virtual life, the game asks players to follow a series of tasks or requirements based on a certain theme. Such themes may be general in nature, much like the first several challenges that rolled out in 2019 and 2020, but others may be inspired by a certain film, TV show, famous person, or whatnot.

The streak of pop culture-themed challenges continues this week, and once again, it’s another throwback to a long-ago decade. The Deliverance Challenge is, of course, based on the 1972 movie of the same name, and while you’ll be staying true to the dueling banjos that share a name with the film’s signature song, the rest of the challenge is based on the recently released Landlord Update — though still thematically linked to Deliverance thanks to the type off property you’ll need to rent out.

This one is quite an easy challenge and it doesn’t require much grinding, but you’re having some difficulty navigating the tasks, keep on reading as this BitLife strategy guide covers all you need to know about the Deliverance Challenge and how to complete it with as little rework as possible.

Create a Character with Music as Their Special Talent

As you may already know by now, BitLife has long allowed you to choose Special Talents when creating a new character, whether you have God Mode enabled or not. That means you should go ahead and choose Music as your character’s Special Talent, as this will greatly speed things up when the time comes for you to have them learn an instrument.

Aside from that, the only other thing you need to make sure of is that your character is a male born in Louisiana. That means choosing New Orleans as your birth city, though you don’t need to prioritize Looks or Smarts — these two stats are largely irrelevant in the Deliverance Challenge.

When it comes to mastery of the banjo, it pays to start young and early — six years old is the youngest age you can start taking banjo lessons, though this will largely depend on your parents’ Generosity, which can only be viewed and edited if you have God Mode. You might have no choice but to re-roll and start from square one if your parents say no at your very first request to take banjo lessons, but more often than not, you shouldn’t have a problem with this.

Assuming you chose Music as a Special Talent and take three lessons per year, you should have 100 percent mastery of the banjo and a full Skill bar by the age of 13 or 14.

Renting Out Trailers Pays for Itself, But You Need a Job that Pays Well

The next part of the Deliverance Challenge requires you to have at least ten trailers that are upgraded. While trailers and mobile homes (which also count as trailers) are among the most affordable properties, with pricing at around $18,000 to $23,000, upgrading them may come as a bit of a challenge. That’s because adding amenities doesn’t come cheap and it is also possible you may go over-budget if you choose the wrong contractor.

As such, we would advise having a good-paying job, and preferably get a college education before you start buying trailers and renting them out. If you’re lucky, you may also end up with enough Athleticism to become a professional athlete (even without Sports as a Special Talent), and playing pro sports (as we did) is a great way to beef up your bank balance and have way more than enough to afford those ten trailers and upgrade them accordingly.

Background Checks Are Important, But Not Necessary

When screening potential tenants, we did mention in our Landlord Update guide that you can do background checks to make sure you’re dealing with someone reliable who could pay the bills on time and not wreck your property while staying there.

If you really want to avoid the possibility of renters squatting in your property, defaulting on their rent, or damaging some stuff in the trailers, a background check could really come in handy. But here’s why it isn’t an absolute must-do while trying to complete the Deliverance Challenge as quickly as possible.

Apparently, the box for the five renters requirement won’t get unchecked if someone moves out, so if you have to kick a tenant out for non-payment or if one of your tenants legitimately moves out for one reason or another, there’s no need to worry. But what you do need to keep in mind is the final task, which is more specific in terms of what the trailer must have before you rent it out.

The Gun Rack is a Feature, Not an Amenity

It’s easy to get carried away and expect that the Gun Rack will appear among the possible Amenities for your trailers or mobile homes. However, there are only seven possible Amenities to install in trailers/mobile homes, and Gun Rack is not among them.

Instead, you’ll need to look for the Gun Rack among the Key Features when you’re renting out your trailers. This is the very first drop-down box, and you may not see the Gun Rack right away. But look for it closely as you keep renting out trailers and you will eventually find it popping up at random.

Once you’ve rented out a trailer with a Gun Rack, you should be good to go for the Deliverance Challenge, and that will allow you to claim your weekly prize by opening one of the four prize chests — as usual, you may get a new hat or new eyewear that will be added to your list of unlocked Accessories.
