When you have some time to kill but can’t really commit full time, it’s nice to have a casual arcade game that you can just pick up whenever you want. Balance The Hat is a unique little balancing game for iOS devices. The mechanics are pretty straightforward. You just need to swipe on the screen to tilt the head towards the left or right. The goal is to balance a hat on top of the character’s head for the longest possible time. The longer you are able to keep the hat on, the higher your score will be. Your score is really just the number of seconds you were able to hold on to the hat. Of course, the word “hat” is used quite loosely here because you can balance a whole range of things on your head, including a boombox, a cat, a cactus, and a rocking horse. 1. Watch Out For Water Drops
Balancing stuff on your character’s head isn’t as easy as you think it is. You will notice that droplets of water will constantly fall from the sky, hitting your hat as it does. Most of the time, it wouldn’t be something you should worry about. If the drops happen to fall near the edge of your hat, however, it could change the balance and make it fall in a certain direction. You won’t be able to do anything about the drops but you need to pay attention to your hat so you know when you need to compensate for loss of balance.
2. Prepare For Bombs
A little rain isn’t really worrisome but when it starts raining bombs, you should start paying attention. Bombs will occasionally fall from the sky and hit your character’s head. The impact of these bombs is a lot more than the rain drops so make sure you watch your hat closely. You need to be able to tell just how much a bomb can affect your hat’s balance in order for you to make the necessary adjustments. You can’t avoid the bomb but you can at least learn how to minimize the damage you receive from it.
3. Take Advantage Of Advertisements
Balance The Hat offers coins in exchange for watching advertisement videos. Just go to the hat selection screen and look for the coins +10 icon. Tap on it and you will be able to watch a video in order to get 10 coins. It may not seem like much but you can actually repeat this for as many times as you want. That means you can collect a whole lot of coins just by abusing this feature. Coins are used to unlock new hats so make sure you don’t pass up the chance to earn free coins.
4. Choose The Right Hat
Hats can be switched up but they are not just eye candy. Balance The Hat uses somewhat realistic physics so the behavior of the hats you choose will vary depending on what they look like. Smaller hats will be easier to manage because they have a better chance of not getting hit by falling droplets. Naturally, large hats like the bird cage will be more difficult to handle.
5. Pick A Random Hat
If you want to be able to try other hats but you don’t have enough coins to unlock hats yet, you can choose the random hat icon. This will allow you to play using one random hat from the game. This will include hats that have not been unlocked yet. Try the random option and, with some luck, you may be able to play using the hat that you want.
