New mobile game Asgard Run may sound like a traditional Viking-based RPG, but it’s actually more of an endless runner title, where you can “sprint, jump, slide, turn, and even fly” in a “high-speed adventure with legendary heroes.” Your eventual goal is to save the mythical land of Asgard, and as you’ll find out, this game is all about being quick enough to avoid obstacles and gather power-ups. Timing is also important, as you battle the greatest enemies of Norse mythology. And you’ve also got your pick of heroes from a roster of fantastic champions and a wide variety of weapons and armor, each of which has their own abilities and bonuses.

1. Learn The Basic Mechanics
If this is your first time to play the game, remember that the mechanics of Asgard Run are not that different from the average endless runner, despite the RPG elements involved. To move to the left lane, swipe left. To move to the right lane, swipe right. Swipe up if you want to jump. Enemies in Asgard Run come fast and furious, but you don’t need to worry too much. Yes, you will still need to be as quick as possible, but when it comes to killing enemies, you can get rid of them with one slash.
3. How To Get More XP And Higher Scores
When earning experience points, you want to complete the many missions available in the game. Once you complete the missions, you can collect your reward in order to earn yourself some experience points. You will level up once your bar fills up, and leveling up, at a certain point in the game, will allow you to unlock new characters, or the ability to buy them.
Moving on to increasing your score, you’ll want to pick up multipliers when you see them, as they’ll allow your score to increase rapidly while they’re active.
4. Collect More Soul Gems
You will have your share of chances to collect Soul Gems in this game – these are the blue stones you’ll see while running, and as you gather more Soul Gems, you’ll be able to buy more high-end weapons and armor. Equipment, however, won’t add anything to your attack or defense ratings; what it does is add score bonuses or multipliers for your soul gems. Use that “equipment” as it’s going to be worth it in the end.
Just as a heads-up, gathering soul gems could be slower than you may expect, especially when you see how much some items cost. The game gives you the option to pay real money to buy soul gems, but you can also watch ad videos in order to get 500 gems. Keep on watching those videos, which typically appear in 15 to 30-minute intervals.
