Mobile giants Tencent have collaborated with YOOZOO Games to bring Saint Seiya Awakening: Knights of the Zodiac to the Western players following success in Asian territories.
If you’ve never heard of Saint Seiya before it’s a well-known manga that was later adapted into an anime series. This game is based on that series and will include a soundtrack and voice actors reminiscent of the show.
It looks to replicate as much of the show as possible, including many locations and moments. Among others, this will include Sanctuary’s Twelve Temples, Poseidon’s Temple and the Wailing Wall.
The gameplay itself will be a tactical RPG. You’ll create a team of Saints from an impressive-sounding selection of over 100. All your favourite characters from the anime are accounted for here. Whether that’s Pegasus Seiya or the Saori.
They’ll all have unique abilities and some will synergise better in a team than others. Once you’ve got your strategies locked down you can battle other players online in a mode called Galactic Duels. Another layer of strategy can be found here through the inclusion of the pick and ban system found in Esports events such as League of Legends.
