Age of Origins: Handy Strategies on How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse

Fighting for survival during the zombie apocalypse is grueling enough, but when you add other survivors as desperate as you are, then the fine line between success and failure becomes even thinner. In Camel Games’ Age of Origins, you’ll not only build your fortress to keep the undead hordes at bay, but you’ll also have to fend off fellow humans hungry for your resources.

And because an SLG requires more brain than brawn, here are a few unique strategies you can use to ensure your survival during the apocalypse.

Ganging up on foes with a Timed Attack

When armies of brain-eaters aren’t knocking at your door, you can go on the offensive and strike down foes when they least expect it. After all, other players’ resources are always ripe for the taking, but even in this every-man-for-himself world, no one is an island. Joining an Alliance with like-minded individuals can boost your survivability out there, and even more so with a properly executed Timed Attack.

With this strategy, you can coordinate with your Alliance members about which specific target you plan on attacking. Everyone must declare their marching time in the Alliance Chat, and the one with the longest marching time will send out their armies first.

Monitoring that player’s marching time is crucial to coordinate this attack. The member whose marching time is roughly equal to the first player’s marching time must then send out their armies next, and so on. This way, everyone will arrive at the target location at roughly the same time, allowing your Alliance to take down stronger foes with ease.

Eliminating invaders with the Bubble Trap

On the flip side, if your base is being invaded by a Timed Attack from a rival Alliance, you can put up your peace shield to deflect the first few waves of armies. Getting rid of about half or more armies this way reduces the remaining troops on the offensive, and when you feel like you’ve deflected enough troops, you can deactivate your shield and allow the remaining armies to attack your base.

In this manner, you can rain down fire and destruction on the remaining foes attacking you, resulting in multiple casualties on the opponent’s side. Of course, you can only execute this tricky tactic if you’re confident you can destroy the remaining enemy troops inside your base, so practice and timing are key.

Keeping your losses to a minimum

At the end of the day, making sure you keep your armies alive to conserve resources is still one of the biggest priorities for survival. While players on the offensive can lose their troops in battle, as a defending player, you won’t suffer any losses provided your Hospital isn’t at full capacity. Be sure your Hospital can treat your wounded troops to help them live to fight another day.

Upgrading your Commander level for skills like [Battle SOS] can also help turn the tide of battle in your favour, as well as proper Army Formations when deploying your troops. Above all, don’t forget to have fun – after all, there’s nothing more satisfying than blasting away at the undead to keep your own insides intact.
