Plants vs Zombies 2 Strategy Guide: 6 Tips & Tricks You Need to Know

It’s been a while since Plants vs Zombies 2 arrived for iOS and Android, but you can’t deny that it is still one of the most popular games out there across multiple platforms. Once again, you’ll be defending yourself from those zombie hordes, using a variety of plants to stop the zombies from reaching your door and eating your brains, and you’ll also have new plants to use as weapons, and new zombies to guard your lawn against. As PopCap recently released an update for the game, we think it’s just right that we share with you our Plants vs Zombies 2 strategy guide, as well as some tips and tricks to help you succeed in the game.

1. Don’t Neglect The Sunflowers

While sunflowers don’t directly help you defend your lawn against the zombies, they’re the plants that ensure you have a lot of sun juice to upgrade your offense and your defense. We suggest having two full vertical rows of sunflowers to ensure that you have enough sun juice at all times. It’s also a good idea to defend your rows of sunflowers by placing a Wall-Nut in front of both of them.

2. Memorize The Zombies’ Paths

If you’ve been playing Plants vs Zombies 2 long enough, you’ll notice that each of the zombies you encounter has their own specific pattern. That’s why it isn’t necessarily a bad thing to fail to complete a level – at least if you paid attention to how the zombies attacked, you’ll know how to get them the next time around.

3. Use Plants That Can Attack Multiple Zombies On Tougher Levels

With each level comes a progressively tougher and larger horde of zombies, so when it comes to the harder levels, you may want to have more than one lane with plants that can attack more than one zombie at the same time.

4. The Potato Mine / Wall-Nut Combination

Want to take out more than one zombie with one go? There are a couple neat ways to do this, including planting a potato mine in front of one of your Wall-Nuts. You can also plant Spikeweeds in front of your Wall-Nuts, as this would damage any and all zombies that are being blocked by the Wall-Nut.

5. Unlock New Levels / Worlds Quickly, Here’s How

Grinding would be the best way to load up on keys and stars and that means replaying levels as often as possible. If you do this often enough, the zombies will actually “help” you by popping keys that will let you unlock doors, allowing you to gain enough stars to unlock a new world. However, take note that each world has a specific set of keys.

6. Stick To Bonk Choy And Spikeweeds In Pirate World’s Last Stand III

Many a player gets stuck in Pirate World, but one way to survive the unusually tough Last Stand III level in Pirate World is to use a formation that only includes Bonk Choy and Spikeweeds. The zombies won’t eat your Spikeweeds, and if there are some zombies that are able to make it to the end, the Bonk Choy will take good care of them and finish them off.
