Built for Speed Tips, Cheats & Guide to Win More Races

The only thing that should matter in any race is how fast you can get to the finish line. Built for Speed, a retro racing game from Meizi for Android and iOS, goes back to basics and focuses on what’s important. Doing away with fancy graphics or distracting story lines, the game features multiplayer racing, track-building mode, and cars from different eras. The simplicity of it all makes the gameplay more compelling. If you need help preparing for the tracks, though, our Built for Speed tips and tricks are here to guide you across the finish line!

1. Prioritize Progress Over Trophies

When you play the game, you will be able to collect League Progress points for completing tracks. The think that you need to remember is that all these tracks are made by fellow players. That means you don’t really need to get gold trophies on each and every track. In fact, it might not even be possible to do so because some of the tracks aren’t as well-made. Just try to complete tracks then move on to the next one. You will still earn LP points even if you don’t get a gold trophy.

2. Pick The Right Car

There are several different cars that you can unlock and use in the game. Make sure you use the right car for the track you will be racing on or you will end up in last place. The different tracks include dirt, asphalt, and snow among other things. Read up on descriptions of the cars you have to make sure you have the correct car for the track. Driving the right car is half the battle so invest in having at least one decent car for each track type.

3. Focus On Upgrades

As mentioned above, investing in the right car is important. Unfortunately, you won’t have a lot of cash to invest when you are still starting in the game. The best cars are very expensive and it will take you a long time before you can buy them without spending real money. That is why it would be better if you just get a couple of cars first then focus on upgrading them. Upgrade your car’s Top Speed first since that is the most important characteristic of any car. Once you have maxed out the speed, you can proceed to upgrade your car’s Handling and Grip. Going fast is good but if you can’t steer to save your life, you will not be winning any races.

4. Watch Ads To Increase Rewards

When you finish a race, you will be given the option to watch an ad in order to increase the rewards that you get for winning. Watching ads will only take a few seconds and the increase in reward money will be worth it. Take advantage of this, especially in the earlier levels since it is a lot easier to win first place when you are still starting out. Cars are very expensive so every bit of extra cash you can get will go a long way.

5. Build Your Own Tracks

The game gives you the option to build your own track and earn some extra coins from it. Try your hand at designing a race track. It is a good way to keep busy when you’re tired of racing. You only have one slot at first but you can spend your tickets to unlock a second slot. It takes a bit of practice to get better at designing tracks but you will get famous if you create one that a lot of people like.

Keep in mind that you will not be able to edit a track for 24 hours after publishing it. You will just have to wait for people to play it and see if they like how it is designed. You can check out some of the popular designs for inspiration just as long as you don’t copy their tracks. People like originality but you will at least have an idea what kind of designs to make if you check out some of the famous tracks.

6. Like Good Tracks

At the end of each race, you will have the option to upvote, or Like, the track you played on. Doing so will not only get the track’s designer paid, it will also help make sure that they become more popular. Liking the good tracks will help make sure there will be a lower chance of playing poorly made tracks. It’s a win-win situation that encourages shared responsibility among the members of the game’s community.

7. Change Your Name

It doesn’t really have much impact on the game but, of course, you will want to have a name. You can change your name by tapping the Settings button then tapping the Edit button on the upper right. Set your avatar and nickname, and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to link to your Facebook account while you’re there to earn 5,000 coins!
