Move over Clash Royale, there is a new tower defense strategy game in town, and it’s taking no prisoners! Castle Creeps Battle is Outplay Entertainment’s entry into the growing genre of PVP tower defense. This exciting strategy game adds its own flavor that sets it apart from the dozens of copycats in the market. To start off, you get to choose one of four heroes to lead your troops with. Each hero has his own set of abilities and stats. There are also over 25 unique troop cards and spells that will help you win battles. The developers have also borrowed a few things from the ever-popular MOBA genre such as defensive towers and minions. You get to choose from 12 different tower combinations in order to keep your opponents at bay. While these additions make the game unique and interesting, they also make winning a lot tougher. Check out our detailed Castle Creeps Battle beginner’s guide if you want to emerge victorious!
1. The Battle Begins In Planning
Each battle’s outcome can be decided even before the first troop hits the battlefield. What that means is that the amount of planning and preparation you do when it comes to your team composition and tower layout can greatly influence your chances of success. When it comes to tower layouts, it is always a good idea to position your faster towers up front. This way, they can take out enemies before any of them can come close.
Troop composition, on the other hand, requires a bit more planning. Aside from troop specializations, you also need to consider Elixir costs. If you fill up your roster with high-cost units, you may end up dead before you can send out any troop. There are different possible combinations, but you can use the following as a guide.
1 Six-Star Troop
1 Five-Star Troop
1 Spell (any cost)
2 Four-Star Troops
3 Three-Star Troops
2 Five-Star Troops
1 Four-Star Troop
3 Three-Star Troops
The compositions above help make sure you will be able to continuously send out troops while still having hard-hitters for the later stages of battle. Keep in mind that you can save up to five lineups for battle. Use these to build a team around each of the four heroes. This way, you will be able to quickly choose a new lineup depending on your needs.
2. Choose The Right Spells
Spells are especially useful in Castle Creeps Battle if you use them correctly. For example, Blast can help you gain the upper hand by tearing down a tower that is already low on health. This will allow your troops to advance without taking additional hits from the said tower. Another useful spell is Regeneration, but you have to know when to use it. Do not waste this spell on low-cost units. Instead, use it on chunky units in order to extend their already high survivability.
Another spell to consider is the Frenzy spell. This powers up all your troops, allowing you to snowball to a win or even turn around a losing battle. You can also bring along a Freeze spell to stop strong enemy troops while you take them down. Finally, the Plague spell continuously damages your enemies, making them easier targets. You can use it on a cluster of enemy troops or on a particularly strong one.
3. Bring Along Splash Attacks
It is a good idea to always have at least one unit with splash attacks. Aside from hitting multiple enemies that are huddled together, splash attacks are your best defense against swarms. Swarms are troops with multiple small units that can stall your progress if you have to deal with them one by one. Including a unit like the Goblin Bomber will allow you to quickly decimate any swarm coming your way.
4. Dealing With Brutes
Swarms are not as annoying when they are on your side. In fact, they are great for countering high HP enemies like the Ogre Brute. Those slow hulking units will take forever to get rid of each member of a swarm. Meanwhile, your swarm’s quick attacks will drain the HP from that ogre in no time flat. The Goblin Horde and the Goblin Airforce are prime examples of swarms. Consider taking one of the two in every battle.
5. Hero Skills Win Battles
As we mentioned before, each hero has his own set of skills and stats. Using a hero’s skill correctly can help you win battles. For example, Mason’s ability is the Guillotine. He throws out this giant blade then pulls it back, dealing damage to enemies both times. When using this ability, try to aim past your enemies. This is to ensure that everyone gets hit by the blade on its way back to Mason.
Ember’s ability, on the other hand, is best used for defending your troops from afar. If you see your troops taking a beating, use Ember’s Volley to wipe them out. Kusk’s Payload ability is perfect for taking down tougher targets. Save it for when the enemy plops down his tanks. Finally, you can use Crypt Lord’s Resurrect ability to either sneak Crypt Minions into enemy territory, or to act as backup for your existing troops while you are waiting for Elixir to regenerate.
6. Prepare For Flying Troops
There are several flying troops in Castle Creeps Battle, and your melee characters, however strong they may be, are ill-equipped to deal with them. Make sure you always have ranged units such as Axe Throwers, Sharpshooters, and Rangers. These are the only troop types that can deal with flying units. If you are not careful, your opponent just might fly his way to victory.
7. Play With Your Friends
Even if you don’t feel like playing with friends, you should still at least invite them to the game. Every player that uses your invitation to install the game will reward you with 500 coins. On top of that, you can also send and receive coins every day. The daily coin gifts may not seem like much, but if you have a lot of active friends, they will eventually pile up. You will need a lot of coins in order to keep upgrading your troops, so every little bit counts. Don’t forget to work on your Achievements as well in order to get more Gems, the game’s premium currency.
