BitLife has finally released its newest job expansion pack, but if you aren’t willing to dive deep into yet another criminal activity in the game’s virtual world, there’s always the weekly challenges to keep you occupied. A staple of the life simulator’s iOS and Android versions for close to five years now, weekly challenges require you to complete anywhere between four to six tasks based on the given theme, and while you normally have four days to wrap them up, you also have the option to go back to them at a later time if you’ve purchased the Challenge Vault add-on.
Although the 2024 Paris Olympics have just wrapped up, the folks at Candywriter are seemingly still in a sporting mood, as evidenced by the subject matter of this week’s challenge. The Viral Villager Challenge requires you to become a famous athlete, as many other challenges have done in the past, but this time, you also need to be carrying something viral that isn’t related to popular social media posts, photos, or videos.
In terms of difficulty, most of the challenge shouldn’t be that much of a bother, though there will certainly be points where you need to keep repeating certain actions much more often than you normally would. Keep reading on for this week’s BitLife mini-strategy guide, as we’re here to show you how to complete the Viral Villager Challenge in as little time possible.
The Easy Parts of the Challenge
The first requirement in the Viral Villager Challenge is to be a female born in Brazil, though on top of choosing your gender and country of birth to meet the challenge’s requirements, you will also need to choose Sports as your Special Talent. You’ll be able to join your school’s volleyball team once you turn 15 and enter secondary school, and once you do, just follow the usual process — train regularly so that your performance bar is maxed out (or as close to maxed out as you could) by your final year.
Joining the BitLife Volleyball League and becoming a famous volleyball player would require you to emigrate first to the United States, so you may want to work a “regular” job for a year after graduating from high school.
You should have more than enough money to move to the U.S. afterward, so stay employed for a year, choose the United States in the emigration drop-down box, and try out for one of the BitLife Volleyball League’s teams once you’re there. We would recommend starting with one of the league’s worst teams, as this gives you the best chances of cracking the lineup as a rookie — and immediately becoming famous.
Wrapping up the easy requirements in the Viral Villager Challenge, you can take a vacation to France at any point of the challenge, as long as you can afford it. Just choose the Vacation menu under Activities, pick Cruise or Vacation, and keep doing so until you see a location in France among the options.
Just Be Patient with the Hookups — It May Take a While
Unquestionably, the most difficult part of the Viral Villager Challenge is contracting three sexually transmitted diseases. In regular situations, this shouldn’t be too much of a hurdle to overcome — just use the Hook Up option enough, may it be through the Love sub-menu or via random encounters at the club, and you’ll probably get one STD per year with little effort. But this is probably one of the most notable examples of BitLife deliberately moving the goalposts for the duration of a challenge to make certain events harder to come by than usual.
We did notice in multiple playthroughs that it takes much longer to get even one STD as long as the Viral Villager Challenge is still live.
But for some reason, it’s easier to get one (though still requiring a lot of patience) if you start working on this requirement before you turn 30. It also seems to help if you don’t go to the doctor right away after catching the STD; move on to your next hookup afterward, go to the doctor, then return to that previous hookup in hopes of getting contaminated again, rinse and repeat until you get your third STD.
All told, it’s an unnecessarily complicated process, but as always, we understand why Candywriter does it this way — it wouldn’t be a real “challenge” if at least a few aspects weren’t challenging.
Keep Training Regularly, Then Sign with a Top Team Once Your Stats Are Near-Perfect
Now that we’ve gotten the trickiest part out of the way, the last requirement in the Viral Villager Challenge is to win and accept an MVP award in volleyball. Becoming the league’s most valuable player, first of all, means you need to have your stats as close to maxed out as possible, if not totally maxed out, so that means regularly training at least three attributes a year and getting your physical fitness up to 100 percent as soon as possible.
Fortunately, there are only five stats for professional volleyball players in the BitLife universe, so you don’t need to worry too much about this part of the challenge taking too much of your time.
Now in order to win the MVP award, you’ll also need to play for a championship-caliber team. Assuming you started out by signing with a bad team, you may have noticed that no matter how good you get, your original team can only go so far in the standing. That means once you’ve gotten your stats to a near-perfect level, you’ll need to refuse that lucrative extension and enter free agency.
At this point, you can try out for any team you wish, and with this in mind, select one of the league’s top-ranked teams. You should be in consideration for MVP voting the moment you sign, though if you don’t win the coveted honor right away, you can always quit out of the game and restart it. Remember that your skills and physical fitness will start naturally eroding once you reach your mid-30s or thereabouts, so you don’t want to wait too long before seriously gunning for MVP.
Once you’ve won and accepted your MVP trophy, that should do it for the Viral Villager Challenge, and you can do as you always do and unlock a new hat or eyewear after choosing one of the four prize chests.
