Vanguard Zero may have only been around in the mobile gaming industry for a little over 3 weeks but it has certainly made quite an entrance as represented by the 100 thousand downloads it amassed from the Google Play Store alone, the largely positive user rating reviews it earned, securing top spots in top lists of games in numerous countries, and maintaining to be among the top grossing games on the Google Play Store as well.
Perhaps its success is highly attributable to the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise that has already been popular for years, most especially the actual TCG that continues to rake in more fans and followers over time. Vanguard Zero, however, made some changes to its basic rules and features of the TCG franchise to make its digital port to both Android and iOS provide faster gameplay and a simpler design. With that, some of the cards in the game have likewise been adjusted to adapt to the modified gameplay mechanics.

In this new article, we will be going through the cards that we feel are top tier, down to other highly regarded cards that are currently in the game. Take note that there are still a lot of cards and clans to be added in Vanguard Zero in succeeding updates so some cards’ values may change from one update to the next one.

That completes our tier list for Vanguard Zero. If you are a total beginner, or have played the game a bit but still do not understand some card phrases and keywords, you can visit the help button within the menu to check for what the keywords mean. At first, it may seem confusing even if you have completed several matches, but you will soon find out that there are only a few keywords to remember as the same costs, conditions, and abilities will appear on several cards with slight changes.
With regard to the tier list itself, more particularly on the ranking of each card presented above, you will notice the typical traits or abilities that make a card great in Vanguard Zero. Each of the cards here that do not have any abilities have higher power than other cards within the same grade. Sentinels, which are limited to only 4 for each deck, has an instant plus in value given what they can do. Being able to fetch certain cards from your deck tilts the luck of draw in your favor a lot. Abilities that allow you to look at cards on top of your library can likewise open strategic avenues to take advantage of, especially since triggers and their activation in combat can give you an advantage.
Keep in mind that the strength of your deck does not rely on any one card or a few, but rather it depends on the entirety of it based on the synergy of every piece. Just because the cards you currently have in your library is not included in this tier list, or any other tier list for that matter, does not mean they have no value. For the most part, the idea of presenting tier lists is for you to be guided on what most people consider to be the best cards to work around it. It does not necessarily follow that using all cards in the list in one deck, provided that they belong to the same clan, will result in a strong deck.
Lastly, do not be discouraged to focus on any clan you are comfortable with. For now, it would seem that Royal Paladin is the meta and a lot of the higher ranked cards listed here belong to that clan. You can expect the balance of power to shift with every new update and there are certainly a lot more cards and clans to join the 4 current ones in Vanguard Zero’s future updates.
