War and Order Tips & Strategy Guide: 4 Hints You Need to Know

Ready to rely on Orc Knights, Elf Sages, Dragon Warriors, and other fantasy creatures that are willing to fight for you? You can do all that in War and Order, a new Android and iOS game from Camel Games that allows you to take part in real-time battles with similarly real players from all over the world. You can form alliances with other players, and have them help you out in battle as you do the same for them. In the end, it’s all about becoming more powerful than any other king in history, but preferably doing so with the help of your allies as you try to “unite the fantasy races like never before.”

This game is true to the spirit of mobile base management titles, as it focuses mainly on multiplayer battles, and the whole social element that has made this genre one of the more popular ones for phone and tablet owners alike. So what can you do to succeed in this game, make the most out of your alliances, and defeat more opposing players? We’re going to stick to beginner’s tips here, but read on as we bring you our War and Order strategy guide for first-timers in this game, or in the RTS/base management genre in general.

1. Follow The Quest Progression

This should be a no-brainer for anyone who’s been playing multiplayer base management and RTS games like Clash of Clans and many others. But if you aren’t familiar with the genres, we should let you know that it’s absolutely important that you follow the quests, and complete as many of them as possible, especially in the early goings. Just tap on the bottom left button so you can warp right to your next objective. Following the quests allows you to stay on track and be up to speed at all times, while earning a ton of rewards, mainly in the form of resources. You want to be prepared to take on those real, human-controlled enemies, so make sure you and your base are up to date by completing quests.

2. Join An Alliance ASAP

Simply put, there are no drawbacks when it comes to joining an alliance. In fact, you should join one the moment you are able to. So what’s in it for you? First of all, you’ll get 200 free gems once you join your first alliance. Secondly, alliance members can help cut down that unbearable waiting time when you’re constructing new buildings. Thirdly, you can make yourself a new friend or two, but in order to do that, you’ll need to respond to your fellow alliance members’ requests. Watch out for the bird icon that appears over your Embassy, as that’s a signal letting you know someone in your alliance needs help. Stay as long as you could within your alliance so you can reap all the benefits you could.

3. Construction Queues Should Always Be Busy

The game comes with a total of four construction queues to start with (it later becomes five), and you should always update those queues to make sure everything’s running smoothly and working properly. Fill up the construction queue so you can update your base with more new buildings and upgrades for the existing ones. Use the recruitment queue to train more troops for battles. Don’t overlook the research queue, as this allows you to research on new technologies that could give you all those all-important passive bonuses in battle. Lastly, the marching armies queue shows you how many armies are stationed outside your kingdom.

All of these queues matter in one way or another, so you shouldn’t let any of them go idle for too long. You need buildings to keep your base up to speed, troops to fight for you on the battlefield, research for passive bonuses, and armies to explore. All of these elements work together, so monitor the queues and listen as well for your assistant, who will tell you right away if you’ve got an idle queue somewhere.

4. Level Up Your Passive Skills

We cannot understate how important it is to have good passive skills in this game, but it’s not just all about your research queue. You also have to make sure your own lord is learning their share of passive skills. These are similar to the research skills – aside from their also being passive, they become effective immediately. But you should have your lord learn those skills while taking note of the skill trees and what’s in it for your lord. The War tree allows you to strengthen your troops, while the Development tree is more geared toward your empire. As a bonus tip, try maxing out Building Speed, because once again, construction times can be a burden to wait out.
