Tower Fortress Guide: 12 Tips, Cheats & Hints to Complete All Levels

A dark tower has mysteriously appeared, and it is emitting poisonous smoke that is making the people sick. It will be up to you to conquer the tower and defeat the monsters within it. Tower Fortress is a vertical platformer for Android and iOS devices. In this game, you will need to climb the tower, collect keys and gems, and defeat the boss who is behind this evil plot. As you collect more resources, you will be able to unlock more powerful suits that will help you take out the mysterious creatures that try to stop you. Monsters aren’t the only things who will get in your way, though. There are numerous obstacles that you will need to overcome in order to get to the top of the tower. You will need the help of our Tower Fortress tips and tricks in order to succeed!

1. Challenge Yourself

The game is composed of four separate zones, each one divided into three stages. At the end of the third stage of every zone is a boss that you will need to defeat in order to advance to the next zone. If you do the math, that is only a total of 12 stages for you to complete. That may seem too short but there are ways for you to challenge yourself. The game is pretty high in terms of replay value, especially if you are constantly aiming for the best records. If you go into the settings menu, you will see a timer option that will allow you to track your best time in completing each stage. You can also track the highest number of kills in a row that you make. These things can motivate you to keep pushing further even if you have already completed all the stages.

2. Master The Controls

As with any platformer game, what matters most is your skill in controlling your character. You will need to familiarize yourself with the controls and practice a lot in order to execute different maneuvers within a limited timeframe. The controls are easy enough to learn. Use the arrow keys to move left and right, then use the jump button to jump. If you double tap the jump button, your character will do a double jump. This will make her roll into a ball that damages opponents upon contact. You can also use the double jump to climb walls. Just double jump repeatedly while sticking to a wall.

Aside from double jumping, your character can also damage monsters using her blaster. She has a default single-shot blaster that does not run out of ammo. You will be able to pick up and unlock other weapons, including lasers, flamethrowers, and so on. Use these to your advantage and wipe out as many opponents as you can. If you run out of ammo on any of the advanced weapons, don’t worry. Your weapon will automatically revert to the basic blaster.

3. How To Get Upgrades

The first type of upgrade in this game is the temporary upgrade. They are only valid during the same run you purchase them. Once you die or complete the level, you will lose the upgrade. Temporary upgrades can be unlocked using keys. In order to get keys, you need to kill enemies. When you start a game, you will notice a skull counter at the top of the screen. The counter shows how many enemies you have killed compared to the number of enemies you are required to kill in order to get a key. When you get a key, the required number of kills for the next key increases, making it more difficult to accumulate keys in a single run.

Once you complete a stage, you will be presented with an elevator that has upgrades in it. You can unlock one upgrade for every key that you were able to acquire. Keep in mind that the upgrades available are random, and you won’t know what they are until you enter the elevator. That is why you should collect as many keys as you can to ensure you can get the most out of these temporary upgrades.

The second type of upgrade is the permanent upgrade. This just means unlocking a new suit for your character. Different types of suits have different abilities. We recommend playing a stage using each new suit you unlock. This will give you a good idea of whether or not the new suit works well with your play style. Be careful when using a new suit, though. Each suit also has its own weaknesses, so you might be blindsided if you are not paying attention.

4. Use Double Jump A Lot

Performing a double jump will turn your character into a ball that can take out weaker enemies. Since you won’t know what is coming for you, it is often a good idea to do a double jump just in case an enemy decides to ambush you. It is like an added layer of protection, and at the same time, it helps you take out enemies as you climb, bringing you closer to that precious upgrade key. Just make sure you pay attention to where you are going. If you hit the floor or a wall, you will exit the ball form, and you will become vulnerable once again. Also, not all enemies can be taken out by the ball form, so they can still harm you if you hit them using this method.

5. Practice Long And Short Jumps

Sometimes, there will be gaps that are wider than usual. You will need to jump farther in order to reach them. To do this, you just need to tap a bit longer. The longer you tap, the farther your character will jump. The opposite is also true. If you tap lightly, your character will make a short jump. Short jumps can be useful for avoiding projectiles, so make sure you practice using this as well.

6. Take Down The Monsters

Since you need to kill a lot of enemies in order to get keys, it only makes sense that you take out every monster you see. Monsters do not respawn after getting killed, and there is no way to go back to the lower levels of the tower. That means you won’t be able to kill more enemies if you miss the chance to do so from the start of the run. In order to ensure you will have enough skulls to unlock keys, make it a habit to kill every monster you come across.

7. Let The Monsters Come To You

Even though you are supposed to kill every monster you encounter, make sure you don’t chase after them as you could end up making mistakes this way. Instead, let the monster come to you. Don’t worry, they are all programmed to attack you at some point, so you won’t miss the chance to kill them if you just wait.

8. Stand Back While Opening Chests

There are several chests that are scattered throughout each stage. They contain different weapons that you can use during your run. When you open them, make sure you stand back a bit. The weapon will pop out of the chest and if you catch it, it will automatically replace whatever weapon you have. If you already have a good weapon with you, make sure you first check out what is inside the chest then decide if you want to replace your current one.

9. Shoot The Health Boxes For Gems

Once in a while, health boxes will drop, and you can pick them up to restore your health. However, if you are already at full health, you will not be able to pick up a health box. What you can do instead, as barbaric as it sounds, is to shoot it. This will break open the health box and drop gems instead. You can then pick up the gems that can be used to unlock new suits.

10. The Second Zone’s Screen Wrap

When you reach the second zone, you will notice certain sections of the tower do not have walls on the sides. You can go through one side in these sections and come out on the other side. Pay close attention to the entire stage when you are in this zone. There are often opportunities for you to hit enemies and shoot enemies from a distance if you use this to your advantage. Just keep in mind that the screen wrap will also apply to enemies, and enemy projectiles. You will not be able to escape them just by going to the other side of the screen.

11. Choosing The Right Suit

There are several different suits in the game. Choosing the right one, however, can be a serious task. The best low-cost suit in the game is the Ranger. It makes all of your weapons stronger. The only down side is that it also has very low health. The better option is to save up a lot of money in order to buy the Shotgun. The shotgun is the strongest weapon in the game, and using the Shotgun suit will make it your primary weapon with unlimited ammo. What’s even better is that it also multiplies the number of enemies you encounter, giving you more chances to get keys.

12. How To Defeat The Bosses

As we mentioned above, there are four different bosses in the game. The first one is the Spider King, just observe him carefully, so you can predict his movements. The second boss is the Wizard Lord. Lure his shots away by running across the screen then run back to retaliate. The third boss is the Pod Master. Since he is hiding in his pod, you will need to hit him on his head inside the glass in order to deal damage. When fighting against any boss, the key is to observe their behaviors first, so you can come up with a maneuver for attacking. Going in head first without paying attention will only get you killed. Watch how each boss moves until you understand their pattern. You can counter attack once you are able to predict their movement.
